GoogleAbsolutely appalling service. Viewed 2 houses with them. put an offer in on the first house, which they said the vendor had accepted. I even had my decision in principle, ID and all of the other relevant paper work. which i forwarded to Dixons. However, soon after they advised that another buyer had put a higher offer in than mine, despite assurances that if I provided all of the relevant paperwork such as my decision in principle and the vendor accepted my offer (which they did) that a memorandum of sale would be issued within 24 hours and soon after the property would be taken off the market and no further viewings conducted and a sold board placed outside. However, this was clearly lies as the same house which I put an offer in for, still has a for sale board outside 2 months later. Thinking maybe that there was issues with the vendor, I proceeded to view another property with dixons and to put an offer in on that property for the exact asking price as advertised. However, I never heard anything back after putting my offer in and no further communication was made despite me chasing dixons several times. I have now used other agents such as connells who deliver a much higher level of service than this bunch of cut throat con artists. Avoid purchasing a property through Dixons, they actively encourage gazumping and lie through their teeth.

TrustpilotAVOID - CAN NEVER GET HOLD OF THEM
1. they over value the properties. not informing ppl that the current interest rates are sky high so better to be realistic ! selling properties in yardley at 500k - solihull prices in my opinion2, you can never get through. once they have your property on sale people cant get through to book a viewing, they then cant get through to put in an offer, voice messages left, and no body responds . unprofessional - STAY CLEAR

TrustpilotExcellent service from Paul Orme and the team at Dixons Yardley!!
We have dealt with Paul Orme and his team at Dixons Yardley previously and they were faultless so when we decided to sell our rental property we knew we had to contact Paul. We received a valuation with 24 hours and had an agreed sale within 72 hours - now that is service!! Amazing as always and highly recommended! One very happy customer!

TrustpilotHighly recommend Dixons estate agents!!
Highly recommend Dixons estate agents to anyone! Especially first time renters/buyers!Me and my partner was looking at renting our first home together, we was so uneducated and didn’t know what to expect but Dixons was a godsend!I had my eye on a house in my childhood neighbourhood so I applied, not thinking that we’d actually get the house but we did! We had 2 lovely lady’s helping us called Megan and holly and they both was amazing!! Megan showed us around the house and answered all questions for us, and holly was brilliant especially over the phone! I dread to think how many times I kept calling but holly always answered politely and answered all my questions. Definitely felt so comfortable with Dixons! Highly recommend!

GoogleAppalling service . Wanted to view a house and on the first contact they were more interested in trying to sell me a mortgage deal as well as trying to get me to view other properties instead of the one I had asked to view. Then a few minutes later they called me back and basically accused me of lying stating they could not find any details of my sold property. When I questioned them the person basically said I was lying about the fact I had sold my property. I still had not heard about a viewing on the property. Its understandable that if you purchase a property funds need to be ascertained but to call a prospective buyer a liar and then try to dig details about them unsuccessfully just to view a property is unprofessional and out of order. Due to this experience I do not even think I would want to view nay of their properties even if I was interested in them . As a prospective buyer I do not appreciate being made to feel like a criminal

GoogleMonika H is an excellent financial advisor. Her ability to explain the process was top notch, and she simplified the steps for me. She was proactive in making sure the sellers, conveyancers and mortgage providers were all kept up to date and pushed when they needed to be. Considering the COVID lockdown occurred days after my offer was accepted, she did an amazing job to get to the point of actually buying!PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

Amelia Pace should wear a Wonderwoman cape! Her drive and determination to smash through any obstacles that could hold up our house sale were outstanding. Through her effective and regular communication with the buyer and pushing the solicitors on both sides, she succeeded in getting completion of our sale even earlier than we'd hoped. Her straight-talking and tenacity are a breath of fresh air!

GoogleFIVE stars for the most APPALLING service ever, Have to leave this review as no way to make a complaint and believe me I have tried. You can never get through on the phone, always an answer machine, normally 24 hours before a call back. I sold through Dixon's, to a buyer having a mortgage through them. However when trying to make offers on properties, Dixon's either didn't answer phones and agents had to leave messages, when they did get through, the tell me that one of the advisors would tell them I was sold but couldn't give them details of the chain as it wasn't his job. They would then have to wait for call back from another advisor, who I am told by several agents, was unable to confirm my buyers own selling position, or his agent etc etc. I eventually had to ask my solicitor to send a memorandum of sale to the sellers agent....Result, on the last attempt to purchase a house, after 4 days of trying to get info the seller of the property I was interested in took an offer from someone who had had position confirmed. When I tried to complain, I was obviously angry but assertive, Dixon's manager obviously could not handle an assertive woman and told me "I do not have to sit and listen to you screaming" WOW how rude and its a typical male comment to a woman, I am a client not his 'woman'. Luckily my phone was on loud speaker and my neighbour heard the whole thing, and I definateley was not screaming, the Manager just kept overtalking me. Unable to confirm my buyers position I withdrew. But there is one other thing, I agreed a fixed fee including VAT of £2500, as that was a figure I had been quoted with a competitor, I NEVER signed an agreement with Dixon's though and during a call AFTER I had sold they told me it was £2500 + VAT £3k... I am appalled there is no complaints procedure or numbers, no area manager ....DISGRACEFUL. I am now doubting if the buyer for my house HAD in fact actually sold his.

TrustpilotAvoid Dixons
I let out my flat with Dixons in December 2022 as I was not able to get a new tenant myself. They were initially responsive to get my business, and did get a tenant into the property. After that things immediately went downhill.I signed up for the 'fully managed' property management service at Dixons in Selly Oak. I had some minor repairs reported by a tenant (hole in wall needed plastering, bath sealant replacing and some rust on bathroom mirror). I advised the work be done by a contractor and Dixons came back quoting £800! Unable to go through with such a ridiculous quote, I did the work myself costing £30 and 1 hour of my time. I was amazed that Dixons did not check the quote at all, and did not visit the property. They then double-charged me the tenant sign-on fees (the first tenant they found did not even stay a month) but did not tell me they were charging twice, I had to tell them and then chase and nag for my refund for 3 months. It also took over 1 month of chasing just to have them send me the tenancy agreement and relevant paperwork. At this point I stopped seeing any value in the service - it was much easier when I managed the property myself, Dixons just made things much harder and more expensive. Please do not sign up to this service expecting your property management to be easier or cheaper. My experience with Dixons has transformed my view on property management and I regret signing up to this. I have had to physically go the the branch to get them to do anything.UPDATE Dec 2023 - The nightmare continues. I've been trying to retrieve the deposit back from Dixons but the senior branch manager has no clue how this works and even told me to protect the deposit that I am not holding! After over 2 months of chasing, and over 50 emails, and several phone calls, I finally got the tenant their deposit back. It's absolutely laughable that I got Dixons involved to make property management easier - it has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had being a landlord. I'm glad I got out when I did or it would have been a financial disaster too.

GoogleBucking the trend in estate agency! I'd tried an onliner and then a conventional high street agent but no success. Dixons' fees were a little steeper but the customer service was superb. Adam Farrow in particular found a choice of buyers and negotiated a great offer. The transaction was then made as smooth as it could be all the way to exchange, and they even helped me find my next property. Well done guys!

TrustpilotPoor service
Very unimpressed with Dixons service in our recent house sale. First buyer they found wanted a buy-to-let mortgage but couldn’t get one so dropped out. We then dropped the price of our property for a quick sale, as we had already committed to an onward purchase, and we got 5 good offers as a result. Despite telling us that they were ‘working for us’ and that ‘the highest offer isn’t necessarily the best one to take’ Dixons proceeded to go with the highest offer - without even asking us if we were happy with that - a client who we soon realized had no real intention of going through with the purchase and we asked them to move on to the next highest offer. Dixons refused, saying we needed to “give him time” even though, after having been approved for his mortgage he had refused to sign it off saying that he wanted to view the property once more, which should have started alarm bells ringing for them too given that we had already expressed our concerns that he would not proceed with the purchase. Another week went by with him ignoring requests to come in and complete the paperwork before he finally admitted he wasn’t going to proceed, as we had suspected all along that he wouldn’t. Only then did Dixons try to contact the other 4 people who had made offers but, with more than three weeks having now passed, they were unsuccessful in contacting any of them. Then, they recommended an investor of theirs, presumably out of desperation to complete their target of finding ‘a buyer’ so they could claim their fees, who said he would purchase but at a much lower price than it was advertised for. Because we didn’t want to lose our onward purchase we reluctantly agreed to sell to him but, had Dixons ‘worked for us’ as they claimed to do, and acted on our request to move on to other clients we would likely have sold the property for a lot more. Often, email questions we asked about the process went unanswered and then, two days after we finally moved, we received a phone call from Dixons sales progressor asking when we were going to drop off the keys as the buyer was waiting to gain access. We had to explain that we had dropped off the keys and deeds on the day of completion. We were somewhat dismayed that she had called us without first checking with the other staff if we had brought them in. Because of their handling of our sale we feel like we were cheated out of tens of thousands of pounds. We certainly won’t ever use Dixons again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else do either.

TrustpilotPoor
Not happy with the service provided by Dixons for our house sale. At the outset they told us that they were "working for us" and that "the highest offer isn't necessarily the best one to take". Yet, after receiving five good offers for our property, we were pushed to go with the highest one, from a client who it was obvious to us was a timewaster yet, when we suggested moving on to the next offer they told us we should give the client the opportunity to complete his paperwork. He later pulled out of the purchase and by then the other four people who had offered had either found something else or didn't reply to enquiries and because we were in a hurry to move as we had already committed to another purchase, we ended up having to sell to one of their recommended investors, at a loss of around £40,000. Staff often didn't respond to emails and trying to call them was very hit and miss. Definitely would not use Dixons ever again.
