TrustpilotExceptional service so far!
Exceptional service so far!We were looking for a new home for a long time and we’re continually getting out bid by higher offers on the 2nd hand market, homes going to closing dates etc, it all got pretty stressful and we thought we were never going to find a new home! We then decided to consider a brand new home. We had our heart set on Winchburgh and looked at several house builders within the area. We initially decided on a Cala home and we’re really excited, we had almost gone to reservation, but again we continually missed out due to people higher up the list. When we met George at Robertson everything changed.Robertson have a small development in Winchburgh with lots of open space, the specification is fantastic with high ceilings and branded fittings as standard.Once we met George the sales experience was very different from other developers we had looked at. He made us feel like it was possible to reserve our new home, he was really warm and naturally friendly, we didn’t feel pressured and he made us feel at ease from the moment we walked into the sales office. We didn’t feel like we were judged and he really took the time to go over our requirements and provided us with all the crucial information we needed. At this point we knew Robertson were the builder for us. George spent a lot of time with us prior to reservation and helped us decide on the house style that suited us best, he made us think of things we hadn’t even thought of. When it came to choosing our options for our new home he helped us design it and gave us his honest opinions and suggestions, he has really went above and beyond and shared his interior design tips! We feel really lucky to be buying a new home from Robertson. My only criticism so far would be the length of time it took for options prices to come back but this is more from head office as opposed to the sales team. We can’t wait to move into our new home.

TrustpilotNo longer a quality builder feel very let down with build quality.
I would rate this company no stars but have to leave a star to write a review. I moved into our new flat at Braehead on 27/11/20. On the day we moved in we noticed numerous major and minor faults. The most dangerous was a defective flat door which did not meet fire regulations . Most of windows were badly marked and not sealed. Internal door seals missing the list is pages long. After 6 months after numerous botched jobs in the front door we got a new one. We have now found our floor boards in two rooms finished over an inch from flat walls and there is a cavity below. Floors are creaking as well as not fitted to the wall. On reporting this and sending pictures they did not even come out and stated Sept 13th earliest date they can come out. Very bad customer service as if fire below us smoke would enter thru cavity and kill us in our beds. The flats finish is very bad and is not the quality product we were promised by the builder. Once they have your money you are forgotten about and have to fight for the snags to be fixed. Apart from my numerous snags my flat is a fire risk and dangerous. Also we have no car park for 6 months plus as they left it as a dump and never came back. Avoid this builder at all costs. I have been asked to send my details I will update if they help me .

TrustpilotAwful company!!
Awful company!!! Making promises they can’t keep, blatantly lying and putting profits before the needs and education of the kids due to attend Dargavel Primary.***Update in response to below***Both companies are owned by the same person am I wrong? Two weeks ago we were told the school would be ready and now all of a sudden it won’t be! Robertson Homes are still getting their new houses built and sold with no issues, I’m sure if they really wanted to resources could be transferred over to the school to get it ready on time!

TrustpilotProfits before community
Profits before community! use the promise of a new school to help sell their houses but unable to deliver and unwilling to try, crooks! And now they are asking me to remove my post as always using covid as an excuse for late build! The school has been in the planning stage for years, if a company like yours chooses to leave it to the last minute to order materials then I would be trusting you with my new home, workmanship and timescales, the 2 most important things to a new home buyer! Keep lining you pockets, happy to let the children just make do 😡

TrustpilotThis is not a company to be trusted
This is not a company to be trusted. Profit before children!! This company took on a contract with Renfrewshire council to build a school within Dargavel village and have back tracked on their completion date causing confusion and anxiousness to parents and children about the temporary arrangements now in place for august. This company will attempt to claim that they have nothing to do with Robertson construction. They are the same company with the same board of directors headed up by Bill Robertson who should be ashamed!

TrustpilotRobertson construction & Robertson…
Robertson construction & Robertson homes are both building within Dargavel Village in Central Scotland. They share the same board of directors & according to there website statements they were both founded by Bill Robertson (William George Robertson) of Elgin. Robertson construction have reversed on their commitment only 3 weeks ago to deliver a school (6 years in the planning) in time for the new school year. Their sister company Robertson Homes continues to build new homes in the area where there is now not adequate educational resources due to Robertson construction not delivering to their commitments. i do not recommend Robertson Homes as they are affiliated with their sister company who obviously can not deliver infrastructure in a timely and transparent manner.

TrustpilotShould be a ZERO
Should be a ZERO. Do not trust Robertson Homes. They are building the new school at Dargavel and have massively lied to parents and the local authority about progress and completion dates. The school was due to open in August, two weeks ago the builder confirmed all was on track... only to completely turn around and say the build won’t be ready. We have heard rumours staff have walked out because of pay disputes. Do not trust this builder! They have let down 300 families.

Robertson construction & Robertson homes are both building within Dargavel Village in Central Scotland. They share the same board of directors & according to there website statements they were both founded by Bill Robertson (William George Robertson) of Elgin. Robertson homes are still managing to throw up homes however there will be no school for yo children to attend within the area due to Robertson construction being awarded the contract by BAE & Renfrewshire council to complete the build of the Dargavel primary school, this school is the only school being built in the area to educate the children of this development, The current local school are now erecting cabins to teach kids (it's like going back to the 70s). THREE weeks ago it was agreed that although the top floor of Dargavel primary school would be delayed to complete small jobs like painting etc. the bottom floor would safely open to all children in August 2021. Today I am reviewing Robertson homes as on the 7th of June it was conveyed to Bae that the school would in fact not be open on time & the reason behind this was construction workers walking off site for better paid jobs on other sites. The schools close in 13 days for the end of term and children & parents now do not know what to do for not only safety due to high numbers now being squashed into an already full school during CoVid restrictions (see we can use that excuse too) but also what is the best for our childrens education. My advice is don't touch Robertson Homes while they are failing at providing the basic infrastructure through there sister company.

TrustpilotDeplorable behaviour from Robertsons
Deplorable behaviour from Robertsons. Leaving hundreds of children without a school. What's worse is that they are doing absolutely nothing to rectify this. No representation from Robertsons has come forward to explain or apologise. Council confirming materials and resource is an issue, yet new houses are flying up daily. Sort your priorities out, Robertsons. Get the job finished. Putting profit before our children's education, mental health and general wellbeing is sickening. Make it happen!***Editing in response to Robertson's response*** You are all part of the same group and you clearly know all about it, so can you please explain why Robertson's only advised BAe/the council and hundreds of families on Monday 7th June (3 weeks before the end of term) that we would be without a school come August, if the pandemic is to blame? And why is this not affecting house builds? Why do you continue to prioritise house builds?

Hi, I would like to say a huge thank you to Robertson homes at Glenburn Manor for the great customer service. Fraser who works within the sales team was just fantastic from the moment to viewing the show home to all the enquires we had about planning to make Glenburn Manor our dream home. I felt the support my partner and I got through the whole process of purchasing the home was very pleasurable and not as stressful as anticipated. When moving into our new home (of course snagging items were expected) though I must admit my partner and I could count on one hand on the minor snagging items that needed sorted. The standard of the build blew my partner and I away with the high quality standard and only with a few upgrades!! The home looked like we had paid for the full house to be upgraded with extras but it wasn't just blows my mind!!!! Site manager and his team have really worked together to make this site special to build Glenburn Manor to a outstanding standard . You have an amazing team of workmen and workmanship. Huge well done. Thank You, S&M

In the process of buying our 3rd property from Robertsons at Great Glen Hall Inverness. Sales manager Jacqui and Liz have gone above and beyond expectations to make the process of buying and selling an enjoyable experience, and to ensure we are totally satisfied with the end result. We used the easy move scheme which was exactly what we needed. We never felt pressured at any point and help was always on hand to assist with interior choices. The communication throughout all stages of the build process to ensure we were up to date with any changes and satisfied with the progress was excellentWe have bought new builds before but the customer service does not come close to what we have experienced with Robertsons. The interior finishings are excellent. Overall we are delighted with the house and service provided. We would highly recommend buying from Robertsons, and the warm and friendly approach from Jacqui and Liz and the site staff should be a credit to the company. Brian and Liz Kelman

Trustpilotpoor finish, customer care non existent
It comes as no surprise that others have had the same poor experience with Robertson homes. They have an excuse for everything!Water coming through a utility room ceiling and i was asked to stop using the bathroom above as it wasnt seen as an emergency, bannister disconnected at the top of the stairs causing both a hazard and a pinch point for injury.Interior decor and finish is shocking, all done free hand. Nothing masked off. Some external doors painted, other left unpainted. Glass units in windows and doors scratched, front door painted in the rain. Sunk drive way, ripped door seals letting in water during the winter. All these points were mentioned prior to moving in and on the 7 day handover window. My front door was then sanded down and left for 8 months before i went and got the paint and done it myself.landscaping outside my house has remained areas of weed and mud for 8 months now with covid being the excuse, despite landscapers, builders, plumbers being in other areas of the site.I have made contact with the Director of the company who also ignored my letter - so from the bottom to the top this company lacks empathy and sympathy with the people who buy new homes from them.if you want a poorly finished house where nothing will get sorted once you move in buy a Robertson home!

TrustpilotPoor build quality, poor customer service. Avoid.
We moved into our new flat in Glasgow back at the very start of the first lockdown, after a few weeks the list of snags grew and grew, most of which are just poor build quality. Flooring not fitted properly, tiling and sealing not done properly, doors and door frames not straight, items we had paid extra for not fitted. Once the lockdown had ended at the start of summer, contractors were supposed to come in to fix the issues, most of them came in and made the issues worse or just didn’t show up at all. Now we are a year on and very few of the snags have been fixed. Customer service is non existent, so don’t expect any help with anything. You feel like everything is an inconvenience to them, they drag issues out for as long as possible hoping that you’ll give in and just forget about it. Also now the staff and managers have left the area, the site has been left in a mess, car parking incomplete, with building materials left dumped in our parking area for the last 6 weeks.

Absolutely awful builders. I bought my house through the urban union site in Edinburgh. Everything on my snagging list took 2/3 years to have fixed and now one of the ‘fixes’ they have done has collapsed so now I have a window in the kitchen which can’t be used (fire hazard) they refuse to fix it as they are blaming the contractors. Awful customer service and no accountability because if they can blame the contractors then they will.

We have just moved into our Robertson home and we are delighted. From viewing the show home to moving, we have had an excellent service from the Robertson's team. Diane at the sales office has been extremely helpful throughout and was very knowledgeable in all aspects of the process. We had great assistance and advice to choose our colour scheme and were really pleased to see it when the house was ready. Communication is always very efficient and it is clear the Robertson team liaise very effectively as there is always a prompt response. TrustpilotBuying a Robertsons Homes house was the…
Buying a Robertsons Homes house was the worst thing we have done to date. The quality and finish of our house is extremely poor. We have reported hundreds of issues and problems, many of them dont even get recorded as problems. The site manager and sales executive promised the world on the day we got our keys but clearly we're only telling us what we wanted to hear. Likewise the construction manager who visited only took interest in a small of issues and lied and misled us into doing an additional area of lockblock and chuckies, to tell its that that caused a problem reported months before. He knew exactly what he was doing, he even provided us with materials to do parts of the work. We formally complained about this on the 10th of Last month, and was told by the customer services manager we would hear a response from the construction director within 10 days. We are still waiting. Every problem seems to be ignored or suggested fix being silicon or painters mate. Roofs leaked, external doors leak, silicon will fix it. No apparent Interest in fixing issues and now I have to wait for yet another inspection, pushing well into my 2 year snagging period. To top it off Construction Manager and Customer Service Manager both told me not to go to NHBC. This quality of work and customer service on the doorstep of the original founder Billy Robertson is truly awful.

We had a great experience with Robertson homes. Our initial contact was with Diane who was the sales representative. She was fantastic throughout, always attentive and very prompt in getting back to us. She made the whole process straight forward and was always available if we had questions.Once our house was ready the move was effortless, Robert the site manager was again always available and checked on us regularly in the first few weeks to make sure everything was going to plan. All the staff on site were extremely respectful as we were one of the first homes to be ready so a lot of building work still going on when we first moved. The home itself is exactly as we had wanted it, we were able to go to the Ashley ann showroom to pick our kitchen which we love.Overall we are extremely happy with our new home and the service provided by Robertson homes.

TrustpilotA year in and still can’t use our Garden - lies and broken promises
We purchased a property from Robertson Homes over a year ago. Unfortunately, our dream of enjoying our garden has turned into a frustrating nightmare. Despite numerous inquiries, we've been left in the dark with no confirmed date for when the work will finally be completed. This has caused significant inconvenience and delays. For over a year, our garden has remained unusable. We've had to cancel appointments with landscapers and materials we ordered are stuck taking up space. The lack of communication and timescale from Robertson Homes has been incredibly disappointing, falling far short of the 5-star customer care they advertise. We urge Robertson Homes to prioritise resolving this issue and provide us with a clear timeline for the completion of the garage water leak project so we can start work on our garden. We simply want to be able to use the garden we paid for.

I’m not surprised they have so many bad reviews, they offer no customer care whatsoever.Update 23.04.24 - We are having adaptations to our home due to my wife needing to live downstairs. The BS the sales staff told us about there being the infrastructure to install a downstairs shower is just lies. It’s all a fabrication on the drawings, no drainage pipes or anything installed.

Houses well designed and appointed in a great location but the sales process, and particularly post reservation, leaves a lot to be desired. Incentives grudgingly offered, and after a lot of theatre involving stepping outside to call the "sales manager" etc. Sales team operating out of a show-home what barely functioning IT and no ability to take payments for extras (bullet dodged), creating a bad impression entirely out of line with the sales pitch and website. Extras offered are different to the RH website and tile samples are unceremoniously dumped in a dusty garage to review - would have expected more when about to spend £10k. The extremely aggressive legal team take an approach not commensurate with the stage of build (to insulate RH against any drop in prices I guess), despite being in an extremely strong position as a buyer and having over 9 months until build completion. Overall, the impression created was that the individual customer experience didn't matter due to overall demand and the fact there would more than likely be some other mug along to reserve.

Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
