Excellent experience

We have just moved into our Robertson home and we are delighted. From viewing the show home to moving, we have had an excellent service from the Robertson's team. Diane at the sales office has been extremely helpful throughout and was very knowledgeable in all aspects of the process. We had great assistance and advice to choose our colour scheme and were really pleased to see it when the house was ready. Communication is always very efficient and it is clear the Robertson team liaise very effectively as there is always a prompt response. Immediate snagging has been dealt with quickly and we have found the site managers keen to help. We have had a super experience so far with Robertson's and absolutely love the design and flow of the house.

Buying a Robertsons Homes house was the…

Buying a Robertsons Homes house was the worst thing we have done to date. The quality and finish of our house is extremely poor. We have reported hundreds of issues and problems, many of them dont even get recorded as problems. The site manager and sales executive promised the world on the day we got our keys but clearly we're only telling us what we wanted to hear. Likewise the construction manager who visited only took interest in a small of issues and lied and misled us into doing an additional area of lockblock and chuckies, to tell its that that caused a problem reported months before. He knew exactly what he was doing, he even provided us with materials to do parts of the work. We formally complained about this on the 10th of Last month, and was told by the customer services manager we would hear a response from the construction director within 10 days. We are still waiting. Every problem seems to be ignored or suggested fix being silicon or painters mate. Roofs leaked, external doors leak, silicon will fix it. No apparent Interest in fixing issues and now I have to wait for yet another inspection, pushing well into my 2 year snagging period. To top it off Construction Manager and Customer Service Manager both told me not to go to NHBC. This quality of work and customer service on the doorstep of the original founder Billy Robertson is truly awful.

We had a great experience with…

We had a great experience with Robertson homes. Our initial contact was with Diane who was the sales representative. She was fantastic throughout, always attentive and very prompt in getting back to us. She made the whole process straight forward and was always available if we had questions.Once our house was ready the move was effortless, Robert the site manager was again always available and checked on us regularly in the first few weeks to make sure everything was going to plan. All the staff on site were extremely respectful as we were one of the first homes to be ready so a lot of building work still going on when we first moved. The home itself is exactly as we had wanted it, we were able to go to the Ashley ann showroom to pick our kitchen which we love.Overall we are extremely happy with our new home and the service provided by Robertson homes.

We absolutely LOVE our new Robertson home it's a really gorgeous spacious house, really good build quality compared to the other well known house building brand on the same estate and with much better thought out use of space inside, all the fittings inside the house are top quality and the whole feel of the house speaks quality. We had one slight issue with a seal in the main bathroom and the site manager had it fixed the same morning we noticed/reported it.

A year in and still can’t use our Garden - lies and broken promises

We purchased a property from Robertson Homes over a year ago. Unfortunately, our dream of enjoying our garden has turned into a frustrating nightmare. Despite numerous inquiries, we've been left in the dark with no confirmed date for when the work will finally be completed. This has caused significant inconvenience and delays. For over a year, our garden has remained unusable. We've had to cancel appointments with landscapers and materials we ordered are stuck taking up space. The lack of communication and timescale from Robertson Homes has been incredibly disappointing, falling far short of the 5-star customer care they advertise. We urge Robertson Homes to prioritise resolving this issue and provide us with a clear timeline for the completion of the garage water leak project so we can start work on our garden. We simply want to be able to use the garden we paid for.

Worse than most builders

Worse than most builders, customer service is great until they have your money and you have your keys, after that they have zero interest in you. I’m not surprised they have so many bad reviews, they offer no customer care whatsoever.Update 23.04.24 - We are having adaptations to our home due to my wife needing to live downstairs. The BS the sales staff told us about there being the infrastructure to install a downstairs shower is just lies. It’s all a fabrication on the drawings, no drainage pipes or anything installed.

Dunbar Fair Acres

Houses well designed and appointed in a great location but the sales process, and particularly post reservation, leaves a lot to be desired. Incentives grudgingly offered, and after a lot of theatre involving stepping outside to call the "sales manager" etc. Sales team operating out of a show-home what barely functioning IT and no ability to take payments for extras (bullet dodged), creating a bad impression entirely out of line with the sales pitch and website. Extras offered are different to the RH website and tile samples are unceremoniously dumped in a dusty garage to review - would have expected more when about to spend £10k. The extremely aggressive legal team take an approach not commensurate with the stage of build (to insulate RH against any drop in prices I guess), despite being in an extremely strong position as a buyer and having over 9 months until build completion. Overall, the impression created was that the individual customer experience didn't matter due to overall demand and the fact there would more than likely be some other mug along to reserve.

Avoid this builder at all costs the build quality is absolutely shocking and the aftercare/defect repair is non existent. The after sale teams sole purpose is to get past the 2 year deadline with as little outlay as possible and hope by wearing you down you simply pay for the repairs yourself. I have a garden that is waterlogged 12 months of the year, a front door that was so poorly fitted it had to be completely replaced. Still not painted (undercoat only) 12 months later, 2 inch gaps in the soffits that they insist is within spec so refuse to fix, mono block that is as level as the North Sea. I could go on for another couple of hours but enough said DO NOT BUY A HOUSE FROM THIS BUILDER you will regret it.

Bought a new home in the north east…

Bought a new home in the north east which was clearly not ready when we moved in. Snagging list is a mile long and finding someone on the ground who wants to just fix things is impossible. Repairs don’t happen when planned, items in the house continue to break, and the company position is ‘we don’t compensate for issues’. They had overbuild the back of my house due to originally getting it wrong, they just don’t take accountability for the quality. Homes are a lovely design just poorly executed.

Damp, mold and leaks in a 5 year old home

Ground floor flat has low-threshold uPVC french doors that leak when it rains, causing internal damage, mold, damp etc.I've had a few door & window companies out to have a look, and they've assessed that these doors can't be fixed, have been poorly installed, and are always prone to leaking due to their design.Urban Union Ltd (Owned by Robertson Homes) agreed to a 1-year warranty with the supplier, but the doors were never guaranteed against leaks. This is a red flag considering most uPVC doors have 10-year warranties and full guarantees. The building is only 5 years old, and I'm already facing a £6,000+ bill to replace the french doors. This also means that the new doors will be a mismatch from the rest of the block.

Looks like their marketing team have newly discovered that they can turn off comments on their Facebook posts!! Any potential NEW BUYERS just think why would they do that? Please don't fall for 'Sales process was excellent' publicity - as the saying goes 'IT is too good to be TRUE'.The HORROR Show begins the moment your money is in their bank account! We can barely sleep now because of stress and anxiety.I can understand if I am writing this later in my warranty period but within TWO months? is disgraceful and I hate myself for buying from them.if you STILL decide to buy with them make sure you have an INSURANCE that covers your MENTAL HEALTH !!#UPDATE# They ignored these Trustpilot reviews and now turned off comments on their Facebook posts, what a joke of a company.

Trust the bad reviews! 2 years 4 months and still battling!

Please take your time to read the bad reviews! We skimmed over them before we bought our house thinking it wouldn’t happen to us! IT DID!We moved in our house in October 2021 and here we are still battling with Robertson Homes for snagging that was on our 7 day list! (Yes, you get 7 days from the day you get the keys to point out all snagging! Recommend if you unfortunately go down the route of purchasing that you get a professional snagger).Customer care is utterly appalling! I cannot stress that enough! I have countless amounts of emails with no reply. Even copying in the managing director and owner makes no difference. I have gone through so much stress over these past few years trying to resolve these outstanding issues and it’s just not right or fair that I among hundreds of others have been put in this situation. They don’t care! Trust me they really don’t! Site staff (mainly site manager who’s full of it and lies) aren’t any better. The contractors they send out to ‘fix’ the issues have made things worse! They don’t care either. Robertson Homes will grab your money and then boom, you’re on your own! The site we live on has a group chat and pretty much everyone that lives here is complaining! If you are thinking of purchasing flooring and turf from Robertson Homes to ‘save’ you the hassle before you move in, please don’t! We wish we done ours ourselves! We finally got our turf relaid last year as it was very shockingly laid initially. We are contemplating lifting up our amtico and doing it all again as there are lumps and bumps all over the place and peeling edges! Honestly just don’t!I won’t go into all our snagging as it’s depressing and shocking but know there is a lot and it is taking a long time to resolve. We should have taken them to the small claims court ages ago, that way we would be free from all this stress and mess! It’s probably the biggest purchase of your life, so please think about it before you commit! I have tried to hold off writing this review for a very long time but it’s gone too far now and I’m just so sick and tired of it all and I really don’t wish this on anyone!Trust the bad reviews and plan for the worst should you go ahead!Robertson Homes have won awards recently but it’s not the public that are voting for these! It’s all a fix within the building industry!Robertson Homes want to be a 5 star builder and so will do everything they can initially to make you believe they are and get you to submit a 5 star survey before you have realised they in fact are not. Thankfully we didn’t do the survey!A message for Robertson Homes: do not waste your time by replying to this post asking for my details and or that you are dealing with our issues making it look that way to others reading because you are doing nothing and will do nothing, hence here we are!

They put profit ahead of children's education

Responsible for building Dargavel Primary School. Have let an entire community down by delaying the opening of the school at very short notice. Promised all on track only a few weeks ago but with no adequate explanation, school now delayed. Happy to prioritise building houses at the expense of leaving a school unfinished.**EDIT** I believe Robertson Homes and Robertson Construction are all part of the same company therefore I intend to keep my original review!

Robertson Homes has no obligation in the delivery of the new school.Robertson Construction has released the following statement.A spokesperson for Robertson said:“We have been working with our customer BAE Systems to deliver the new Dargavel Primary School for Renfrewshire Council. “Many of the local community have expressed frustration at the building not being available for the new school term in August and while we understand their frustration, we remain committed to delivering a high-quality school for the community.“The start of the project was delayed as a result of the March 2020 lock down instructed by government to protect the community and workforce from COVID. Since starting the project, we have been complying with stringent safe operating procedures which are in place to protect both the workforce and the community. This has resulted in a reduction of the number of people who can be on-site at any one time. Safety is our number one priority and as a result we cannot and will not compromise the health and wellbeing of our workforce or the communities we work in. “Due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic and the effect that this has had on our industry, coupled with our priority to keep the communities where we work and our workforce safe the school will not be handed over in August. “We appreciate the frustration of the local community and would like to assure them that we share their desire for a high-quality school which will enhance attainment and benefit the local community for years to come.“The date for opening the new Dargavel Primary School will be announced shortly.”ENDS

Great pre-sales experience with Diane

We’ve had the pleasure of meeting Diane a couple of weeks ago, following some initial email conversations, and we’ve been extremely impressed by both her professionalism and friendliness. She’s always been prompt in responding to our queries, and showed incredible patience when answering our many (!) questions. Overall, she has exceeded our expectations, and thanks to her, we look forward to buying our very own Robertson home soon.

Decent enough builder and built some great houses, albeit some of the developments have ongoing issues with snagging etc. However, I have bought various new builds and all very similar in follow ups for snagging etc, so below average maybe on others but happy with overall build. Some of the homes at Wynyard are displaying lots of posters in windows to show their frustration with snagging that is still outstanding, I get this but really is there any need to have posters in windows ? It brings the tone of the neighbourhood down. I think it's time some consideration was took for those private sellers trying to sell their homes and move on, I think the protest with homemade posters is harming private sales more than the Robertson builder.

Woefully inadequate wynyard

Woefully inadequate. Almost 2 years in and still waiting for numerous problems to be fixed at Wynyard. Robertson’s can’t seem to get contractors to fix our issues or finish the landscaping but in less than half the time we’ve been waiting they’ve managed to build new show homes that look immaculate.Prospective buyers DON’T BE FOOLED, once they have your money they’re no longer interested in you, your property or the state of the estate

Terrible workmanship, hundreds of snags, no after-sales accountability

Lovely designs, and loads of assurances from the sales staff despite knowing full well that the houses were being sold in a terrible condition. Please note that almost every 5 star review on here is from people who haven’t actually moved into the house yet! Please, buyers, only review what you have actually sampled, and don’t be pressured into posting reviews before then!Unfinished house (literally full of 10-15 people still working on it when we got the keys), filthy, and terrible standards of workmanship, with many problems in every room.Initial after-sales had some work done, with things less awful after 80 tradespeople’s visits in the first two months, that made our lives a waking nightmare. After that, still hundreds of outstanding issues, almost total silence and lack of response, from every level of the company. The company ethos seems to be evasion, lip service, empty promises and avoiding spending any money on repairs that they can get away without spending.18 months in, still huge numbers of defects. No resolution in sight.

Cannot fault this company! I bought a house at the Ness Castle site in Inverness and from start to finish the process was flawless. Extremely well looked after by the sales team throughout, great communication regarding choices and how the sale would work. Robertsons not keeping their promises!

I'm disgusted at the recent news that Dargavel Primary school will now not be ready for August as promised. Up until 2 weeks ago we were assured it would be, now the bombshell has been dropped 2 weeks before the end of term. Blatant disregard for hundreds of children being left without a school, poor show Robertsons! I'm sure this could still be done on time if enough effort was made!
