Never use them. Rented out property through Whitegates Beeston. Rapid growth of mould all over the property within a month we moved in eventually made us to leave the property. On our contact with agency, "Greg" and his director "Julian" visited the property. They recognised the problem initially and promised to come up with a solution. Their afterwords they never came back to us and started ignoring us completely. Finally we decided to vacate the property. After our vacation, check out inspection was held in our absence by a landlord. Now we have been informed by "Karen" that they are in a process of obtaining quotes for the works required and in support attached different pictures of mould which we were complaining about from the month we shifted into the property. In short, lesson for us and anyone out there is "They will come up with any excuse to hold your deposit".

Iβm sorry to read that you feel so aggrieved. As you point out, I considered at the time that it was important that I personally got involved with your condensation issue and indeed did meet you at the house. As discussed internal mold and condensation is common in houses that have high humidity and are poorly ventilated. When you showed me the problems there was heavy condensation on some window panes, so much so, that puddles were forming on the window sills. Still, we did refer the matter back to the landlord (who used to live in the house) but he was of the opinion that the house needed more ventilation and unfortunately wouldnβt authorise any expenditure. With regards to your deposit, we require the house to be returned in a clean condition and the garden to be tidied. We are not being unreasonable. As you are aware, we are members of the Tenancy Dispute Service and you are welcome to refer your complaint to it and they will make an unbiased adjudication. Also, I have checked with the statistics on TDS website and we have returned 98.4% of deposits with no dispute.

GoogleUtterly incompetent. Do not rent through this agency. Whenever something went wrong with the property, it took weeks to get fixed, we were left without hot water and heating in February for over 2 weeks, and I had to report them to Environmental Health before they fixed it. We also were left for 3 weeks without a washing machine.
Despite me leaving the house in a better condition than I found it, they have withheld my deposit. They charge high admin fees, that do not reflect their input.
Whitegates should come with a warning.

Hi Ruth I'm extremely disappointed that we seem to have fallen below the high standards that we set ourselves. I know that you have been a client of ours for some time which makes reading this review even harder. I can confirm that we are not retaining the deposit but we have been waiting for the last key to be returned by one of the housemates. Please accept our apologies for not making your experience with Whitegates as smooth as it should have been. We have looked at how we performed and have now put some new cross-checks in place to ensure we do not make the same mistakes again.
With regards to our fees I can assure you that they are among the best value in the market!

GoogleThe property was marketed promptly with a competitive price for a high street estate agent however once the instruction was passed to the sales manager our experience with Whitegate plummeted.
The sales manager sent people round without telling us, required frequent chasing and refused to meet to discuss offers face to face.
Disgustingly after a sale was agreed the sales manager also made the calculated decision to lie to bother vendor and purchaser by saying the other party were using Whitegate's recommended conveyancer (stay away from them, they are awful and a formal complaint is ongoing with Legal Ombudsman) in order to get us both to instruct them and receive a Β£300 referral fee.
Unfortunately the 'Del Boy' tactics of this rogue member of staff have ruined our home move and I suggest you stay clear of this company whilst he is still employed.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are extremely sorry and disappointed that you are unhappy with the services we have provided for you. We really do our very best to try and make all our clients happy.
It is normal in Estate Agency to receive fees from third parties such as solicitors and mortgage advisors and we do include this information in our Terms of Business, however we accept that this may not be as clear as it could be and we will take steps to rectify this. The good news is, Whitegates use this money to make our selling fees as competitive as possible.
We would respectfully point out that we were under pressure from your builders to try and complete your sale in just 4 weeks which is the main reason we wanted both purchaser and seller with the same solicitors.
Also, to add some balance to your review, here are some of the more positive aspects of our services;
our sales team, once instructed, arranged 19 viewings over a 4 day period, negotiated 7 offers to buy, managed to agree the sale at 8% above the asking price, and pushed through to exchange legal contracts in just over 7 weeks.
We fully understand and appreciate the stress and anxiety that comes with moving home and hope that you will soon be living in, and enjoying your new house.

GoogleI have been a tenant with Whitegates for over a year. Throughout this duration, Whitegates have been ever so helpful in getting any issues with my flat sorted out quickly and properly. Most recently, the heater in my bedroom was broken, and as soon as I reported the problem to Whitegates, Marie got onto the case as quickly as possible and sent an electrician over within the same day to give me a temporary standing heater to use while taking measurements to order in a new heater, which arrived a few weeks later (due to Christmas and New Year) and was then installed promptly and professionally by Gareth. I am very thankful to the team at Whitegates for making my renting experience a pleasant one.
