When looking for a new rental Romans were fantastic. Simple to use, understood our requirements easily and their online platform is very informative. A special shout out to Megan who guided us from first virtual viewing right the way to agreeing the tenancy. We are coming from overseas so we had a lot of complexities. But Megan ticked every box and gave me such confidence that Romans was the agent for us. Megan was so fast to respond to emails, kept in regular contact during the process and made sure our requirements were met right the way through. Thanks again Megan!

I just recently let me property through Romans. Everything went very smoothly. Nicola is very dedicated with her work, very polite, professional and helpful. She has an in depth knowledge of rental properties in Basingstoke. She came to visit the property even on her day off and advised me about rental price around the area. She didn’t even charge extra cost for the key cuttings. She was just very helpful in every possible way. She would go above and beyond to help her client. The agents were always polite, available, and quick to respond to our questions during the buying process and even after we moved, which we appreciated. However, we asked several times whether the tenants who had lived in the house over the past 10 years (while it was rented through the same agency) had reported any maintenance issues. Each time we were told the house was perfectly fine. We also asked a few times if the house had ever had any problems with flooding, and we were assured there were none. After moving in, we discovered serious flooding in the garden whenever it rained, with water from surrounding properties flowing into it, and even damp and mould inside the living room( when we changed the flooring). Neighbours confirmed that this flooding problem had been ongoing for many years, and even the agency tried to solve the problem. Since the property had been rented out through the same agents for over a decade, it is clear they were aware of this issue but still denied it. It is true that the surveyor’s report highlighted a general risk of groundwater flooding in the area. However, our actual problem is different: it is caused by rainwater run-off and lack of drainage, which was never disclosed to us. This lack of honesty and transparency has caused us significant stress and extra costs. Buyers should be able to trust the information they are given, and unfortunately, in this case, we feel we were misled.

This was the third estate agent we had turned to to sell our house. We had already wasted 6 months, 3 with an immensely inept agent however, when we approached Ben, he listened to our previous experiences and in his cool, calm, collected manner, he reassured us that none of our gripes would be repeated. I left their office wanting to believe what he had said, half-doubtful he would keep his word based on my previous experiences with other estate agents. I shouldn't have questioned it really. Interest in the property doubled and his team constantly kept in touch. Mia and Oli were also superb with their friendly, positive, progressive approaches, making us feel at the centre of sale but doing ALL the work on our behalf. Ben practically guaranteed a sale when I first met him and he stuck to his word. They found a buyer within three months. Such a professional approach that took the huge pressure of selling our property away from us. I was a fool not to have gone with them from the beginning. Amazing efforts, thank you so much for getting us over the line.

Romans have been our managing agent for a coach-house in Basingstoke for the last few years. Throughout this time our property manager Denise Hurn has been fantastic. She is really "on the ball". She is fair and reasonable and acts as a fantastic interface/interim between us and our tenants. There are other letting agents to chose from but we haven't even looked because we are so happy with the service we get from Denise (I bet her retention numbers are high - hopefully she gets rewarded for that accordingly)!
