My brothers and I sold our parents' house through Romans and had the pleasure of working with Ben Plowman. Selling your childhood home is an emotional experience, so I can't thank Ben enough for making the entire process as smooth and painless as possible. From our initial meeting right through to exchange, Ben proved himself to be genuine, professional and truly invested in helping us achieve the best outcome. He showed great respect for our family home, provided honest and practical advice, and reassured us that he would conduct all viewings, which we really appreciated. We couldn't have asked for a more personal level of service. Ben kept us informed at every stage of the process, and was always available to answer our questions and offer support whenever we needed it. His patience, communication and commitment made a difficult process much easier, and we are extremely grateful for everything he did.

Had an amazing experience with Romans, simply thanks to Denise. She was fantastic and helpful with everything that was asked, nothing was too much. It’s a shame our relationship has to end, I wish she would be there for every house I ever move into! From fixing any issues to helping arrange viewings, even throwing in the odd courtesy call off her own back to check how things were going. Denise made everything run smoothly and completely stress free for the entire 2 1/2 years. If what you’re searching for is a professional and highly dedicated agent give her a ring. We sold our house through Romans and had the absolute pleasure of working with Jay Fennell. He may come across young compared to us, but don’t let that fool you, his professionalism, confidence, and knowledge of the property market are exceptional. He is everything you’d hope for in an estate agent and so much more. From the very beginning, Jay showed that he genuinely believed in our home. We even requested that he be the one to conduct the viewings because the way he presented our house never felt like a sales pitch, it felt like he was selling 'his own' home, with pride, care, and sincerity. On the rare occasions he wasn’t available, he always contacted us well in advance, giving us plenty of time to decide what we wanted to do. Throughout the process, Jay gave us sensible, honest advice and was incredibly patient. During the period when we struggled to find a property we liked, I often called him for a little moan, and he always listened, talked us through our options, and helped us reflect, even though that wasn’t technically part of his job. His support genuinely made a stressful time feel manageable. We always received timely feedback after viewings, and he showed great respect for our home at every stage. We also appreciated that he remembered our working hours and only called when he knew we were available - a small detail, but it shows how attentive he is. Let’s be honest: during the sale we were approached by many other estate agents, and most of them felt far too salesy for our liking. Jay stood out because he is genuine, grounded, and truly cares. At the end of the day, we were selling a home we had pride in, and he matched that pride every step of the way. We strongly recommend Jay. In fact, Romans should give him a pay rise - he’s an absolute asset to the team.

I recently moved out of a rental property managed by Romans after the end of a longterm relationship. On the more negative side, their accounts system didn't seem well equipped to deal with residents changing at a property mid tenancy- my ex kept on receiving automated messages from an automated system for months after they were removed from our rental contract. There was also an odd occurance where a bank payment failed to go through, and the accounts team went straight to contacting a guarentor instead of any resident at the property- quite frustrating to never get an answer on why that happened. However, I've got no end of good things to say about Denise Hurn, the property manager of the flat for the entire time either of us were there. She was always polite, professional, and helpful- both with regular maintenance queries and when it came to the challenges that came with removing my ex from our contract. She was also extremely helpful when it came to navigating the occasional accounts hiccups mentioned above. If Denise was the only factor to consider, this would definitely have been a 5-star review.
