I called Steve off a recommendation from my sister who said he was quite simply ‘The best Estate Agent on the planet’. Steve put me in touch wilth Will Nash and it is clear that these two guys are the leaders of their field. Like some kind of genetically modified hybrids they turned a massive problem for me into a simple solution which means my life is sweet and just wanted to say thanks. Excellent Experience with Douglas Allen Woodford

I have recently been liaisng with Douglas Allen, Woodford branch and have found them to be excellent; especially Khaleesha, who has been fantastic in helping my wife and I find a forever home in the area. From the very first moment we met her, she has been approachable, helpful, engaged and focussed. Throughout the process, she has been honest, transparent and fair and extremely responsive. This has been the best experience my wife and I have had with an estate agent so we couldn't recommend someone more highly.I have also had the pleasure of interacting with Steve at that same branch and he has also been excellent and someone that holds himself to the same high standards and values as Khaleesha.Great experience from a great estate agency branch!

Great work from Douglas Allen!

We had our flat on the market for 3 weeks with an agent and only had 2 viewings. So we decided to switch to Douglas Allen and within the first week we had 10 viewings followed shortly by an offer that we accepted! The team at the woodford branch have been brilliant with us, and special mention to Khaleesha who has been the main driving force behind our sale! Would reccommend anyone who are having difficulty selling their property switch to Douglas Allen if you want results.

We just wanted to say a big thank you to Simon at Basildon branch for helping us buy our property which we completed on today. When we registered Simon invited us into his VIP service saying we were in an excellent position and that he would go out and find us a property. Well he certainly did that. Knowing we wanted something to do up, that would rent easily and was close to the town, we got a call saying did we want to be the first ones in to a flat he had taken onto the market that morning. We drove over, viewed the flat and offered straight away. After some negotiation we secured the flat and signed up our mortgage with Danielle Chapman. To ensure the sale went through without any hiccups, Chelsey, the sales progressor was constantly in contact with us and we felt we always knew what was happening.I really believe the staff at Douglas Allen go above and beyond in their service to their clients and do exactly what they say they are going to. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We went through a few false starts in buying a house and dealt with many different estate agents in the process so we feel like we experienced a full range of agents. One thing that was immediately noticeable when dealing with the Douglas Allen team in East Ham was that they were friendly, experienced and really respectful. They worked hard to move the purchase forward without ever being pushy and we always felt they were open & honest with us, particularly Andrew who progressed the purchase. I bought my first house with Douglas Allen about five years ago. Everything was straight forward and went well smoothly as I used in house mortgage, solicitors, insurance everything. So this time also for my second house i preferred Douglas Allen. I was calling one day Barkingside office regarding a property in Clayhall, the person who attended the call is Mr. Kailesh. Very nice person, talking very nicely through phone, gave confidence and encouraged me to come and view the property. When we are viewing, we can see Mr.Kailesh's helping tendency to that aged seller in two occasions. Mr. Kailesh is very kind and friendly man, who helped me lot through phone and in person also regarding the purchase. I asked some questions regarding my mortgage to Mr. Kailesh. He asked me to visit office to meet Mr. Zeeyad, in house mortgage advisor. Who helped me to get very good mortgage offer and Remortgage offer as well. In addition, Mr. Zeeyad clarified many things regarding purchase of the house which i don't know previously. He got good knowledge in this field. I met 3-4 mortgage advisors before Mr. Zeeyad, but none of them clarified my questions. He is very quick also. Whenever, I am going to Barkingside office, welcomed by Mr.Kailesh, sorting out my needs very quickly. Thanks a lot to both of them and friendly environment and all team members in Barkingside office.

On meeting Andy Dumas, I felt immediately comfortable and confident that I had done the right thing in contacting Douglas Allen to help me with the sale of my property.He was charming, fun to talk with, very generous with his advice and listening to my situation and held no bars back, I like a person who tells me straight the good and bad what to expect and that is what Andy had done, as well as a very thorough description on what the agency does and how they go about doing things. Well to cut a long story short, the team at the agency did a bang up job of getting my house on the market for £275,00.00 and lots of people where interested to the point that I needed an open day, which I wholeheartedly agreed to and thanks to Andy's effort and the of course (Ben and Ella too) I ended up selling it for an incredible sale of £325,000.00.Now I must add that Andy did advice me not to spend any money on doing it up since the buyers would only go over it and I would end wasting what little pennies I had in my pocket at the time, and assured me that he would do his best to get me the best price with out the "touch ups"!He has been in touch since to be sure I was happy with the result and to check that I have done all the necessary paperwork to complete the sale, of which I am most grateful since I can be forgetful lol.Everyone I met from Douglas Allen where absolutely friendly, charming and treated me like an old friend, lovely bunch of people and sincere in their work and word.I wish them all a wondrous future in their careers.Jennifer Vella-Zammit

Will from the Fine and country department took great care of us

The service provided by Will from Fine and Country Department was second to none. We used several estate agents during our search for our new home and once we found what we wanted we were lucky to have Will, who gave us an absolutely great service. Will took care of us, specially, during the final stages of exchange and completion and helped to smooth out any challenges we had. Will went beyond his call of duty. Will showed total professionalism. Will is very friendly, approachable, reliable and showed lot of enthusiasm. We requested several viewings for the same property and every time Will had honoured our request and was very accommodating to our needs. Money well spent ...

I was seriously considering using an on-line estate agent this time round. A bit of an unknown but, on the face of it, a fifth of the price of the average high street version. A timely leaflet drop from Douglas Allen prompted me to at least speak to them.The manager from the local office (Matthew Gilbert ) came round to discuss the options. He was easy to get on with and positive that he could sell the house quite quickly. There was no 'hard sell' and he didn't overstay his welcome, just giving me his honest views on the pros and cons between 'High street' and 'On-line'.Basically, it was because of his honesty / 'straightforwardness' that I decided to give Douglas Allen a first chance. ….. and I was glad that I did ….within a week, following three viewings from potential buyers, I had accepted a 'chain free' offer. So that was without even a 'For Sale' board; no photographs; no advertising, presumably just working from the contacts on their books.A special mention for Katie from the local office, she did all three visits, doing a good job in smoothing the way.So a good result but I've still taken a 'star' off because I still think high street estate agents are too expensive but on this occasion, money well spent!

A warm and positive expereince

I have read some quite negative reviews about Douglas Allen, but my experience of Douglas Allen [East Ham] had been nothing but positive. We were purchasing, not selling but throughout the process we were: Always able to talk to someone; always updated on progress throughout the purchase process. I posted a positive review once we had exchanged contracts, and things then proceeded smoothly to completion. The Douglas Allen team at East Ham were a real pleasure to do business with. They are professional, polite and friendly. I would particularly like to thank Natasha, Hassan and Kam who were all there when we really needed them, and they responded to queries and issues with the purchasing process rapidly and effectively. They were there all the way right to the end and ironed out some last minute complications - Thank you so much for all your commitment and attention to detail.

So bad.... do not use

So bad. Charged a fee for poor photos and had to complain to have them corrected. Property sold within a few weeks to people unsold and no advice given on how to handle. Not proactive in any way and they waited for people to call them (both us and people who offered on our the property). Ended up not selling property as the whole experience was so bad and we couldn't face paying their fee which was a premium to other agents. Cannot recommend any less. Avoid at all costs. Have worked with a few estate agents in the past and these are by far the worst I have encountered. They give you the attention you need only until they have you on their books. Will be complaining to the Ombudsman in due course. Matthew was particularly disappointing. His initial motivation was the sole reason we signed up, but he soon passed over our property to "his team". After this we had no point of contact, no one took ownership and if we didn't call for updates nothing was forthcoming. If I could give no stars I would.

The team at Douglas Allen in Basildon made our purchase as a first time buyer much less stressful than we were expecting, we had been told stories about how this will be one of the most stressful things we will do in life and we can honestly say we have found the whole process very smooth and that is all thanks to the professional team in branch who have helped us every step of the way.We would like to particularly thank Joel Williams as we originally did not want to view the property we ended up purchasing however having answered several questions we had about the property and her knowledge and patience meant we ended up buying our dream first home.Also the mortgage advisor Danielle worked tirelessly with us staying after hours to help us achieve the perfect mortgage to allow us to buy the home we wantedLastly the sales progressor Chelsey was extremely helpful as being first time buyers the whole process was very alien to us and Chelsey helped us with every little question, query and even paperwork that we were unsure about and no question was too small.we will definitely be back when the time comes to sell our home and put it on the market.
