We have been buying a house

We have been buying a house over the last few months and really felt compelled to write about the amazing efforts Jessica from Douglas Allen made even though we have unfortunately not brought a house through them as the house we are buying is through another agent. Jessica has gone above and beyond to try and find us a property and I just wanted to let people out there know what a fantastic professional service we got from them and didn’t want to not mention this to all looking to buy or sell. Gizem @ Chadwell Heath - The perfect example of how an estate agent should be!

I have dealt with a number of different estate agents when looking for a home, and i can honestly say Douglas Allen was, by far, better in every aspect. They remained professional and informative, which put me at ease thoroughout the entire process. Gizem in particular was helpful from the very first viewing all the way through to completion. She kept me posted throughout and made every extra effort to fit additional viewings around my busy schedule. She was honest & friendly, and did not come across 'too hungry' (unlike other agents) which quickly built up trust - this was invaluable for a first time buyer.

My house took several weeks to sell despite a fairly large number of people come to view. In the end i dropped my house price as after several weeks and several discussions with the team at Douglas Allen I felt my house was priced a little high, this did not help as there was also competition in the same road as mine when a neighbour also put her house on the market the same week as me at a considerable lower price. After Sales team was also excellent.

I want to share how impressed we are with Natasha Facer and the fantastic support, advice, guidance she has provided, and is still providing, in relation to the sale of our property. Her professionalism, patience and support has been second to none. From our first meeting with Natasha we knew we were in good hands. She impressed us with how quickly she proceeded with the sale, from the valuation, arranging photographer, marketing of the property and having viewings - all in the space of just over a week. We have been able to contact her with any queries at any time and she takes the time to respond to our many questions and reassure us when we are unclear and unsure of how to proceed. She is an asset to Douglas Allen, and I am so pleased she is our agent.

Hasan, the best sales advisor in London

Last week, I called into the office with regards to a flat I found. A very friendly young man whom goes by the name of Hasan picked up the phone. He informed me that the specific property I was interested in was not suitable as it had a short lease. Nevertheless, he said he would keep his eyes open for me. I did not take it serious as all agents say that. To my biggest surprise hasan proved to be an agent of his word and did extensive research for me. Hasan's service so far has been beyond excellent. He treats his clients as friends and not just as clients. I was super impressed by his market knowledge and professionalism. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I would also like to thank peter arrowsmith in hornchurch branch.We wasted a few months with a previous agent, very dissapoiting low viewers over the months. Then I changed to use Douglas Alan and another agent. My property had only 2 days of viewers then sold! So peter came along, very friendly, laid back, understanding, positive and professional. Each time I contacted him or had questions, he was very clear and helpful. People like him really does make a difference, not too serious, pressurised or being competitive, so more relaxed and trustworthy.In the end of the completion day, I was running so late 4pm to hand the keys over to him and he did not stress, complain or rush me at all, which definitely was a bonus!I really appreciate and very glad we had chosen Douglas Alan. If only we had chosen them in the first place..Great team work to all staff!

Well worth that little bit more!

We are both 71 yrs old and were looking to buy and sell a house. By chance we walked into Douglas Allen's Chingford office. We had been told they might be a bit more expensive, but gave a good service. We were welcomed by a very friendly bunch of people who quickly put us at ease. They efficiently run through our options, and we settled for the one that best met our requirements. We are so pleased we choose this office, the service has been excellent from the start and the whole way through. The team are - Jake on front desk, courteous, polite, well dressed and a big smile, Jessica (Sales) super efficient, knowledgeable, informative, and very sympathetic to our needs, Natasha (co-ordinator & liaison) always on the ball, kept all parties well informed, she especially impressed the couple who's house we were buying. Then there's James (Branch Manager) he kept his whole excellent team together, lighten the mood and helped us through a few sticky moments.Thank you for your much appreciated service. we would recommend you anytime to anyone who needs that little bit extra.

Pleaseantly surprised

Once I found the house I liked, I exchanged in just over a month - which was so quick it took me by surprise. Douglas Allen provided me with a lovely staff member called Tanya Keene to act as a "go between" my solicitors and my sellers solicitors. She was polite, efficient, always answered calls and kept things moving - I rarely needed to chase anything, it was all done for me. I found this process was far less stressful than I expected but that was mainly down to the professionalism of Tanya.

Worst people you can ever do business with. They tricked me into renting a house claiming the bathtub was under repairs whereas it was all a lie. Bathub didn't have a cover and had protruding nails that caused injury to my family many times. I sent several emails showing the hazards in the apartment, they wouldn't even respond to emails on time let alone making any effort to repair anything. The apartment that they let out to me was dilapidated with protruding moulds and leaking roof. I complained for 12 months but absolutely nothing was done, doors were bad, the roof was leaking, the toilet drain was smelly.. I regret ever having anything with Douglas Allen. I still haven't recovered from the trauma of what I went through while staying in the house they let out to me. On top of everything, they were all out to get the best out of my deposit rather than feel any remorse for what they put me through. I had a terrible experience I wouldn't wish my enemy.

Teamwork pays

In spite of the very protracted process prolonged by third parties I have been supported throughout by Douglas Allen. In particular by Heather and Trish in arranging a large number of viewings by organizing and conducting open house days and Janine in energetically coordinating to completion all the elements in the chain to finally arrive at "my happy". I don't think this could have been achieved by a single operator as painlessly to me as has been the case engaging Douglas Allen with a supporting team of experienced and efficient professionals. My letting experience was based in the Basildon branch with Abbie. She was both professional and approachably friendly throughout. This was a stressful time for me but Abbie's support in both finding a property that was suitable and taking me expediently through the letting process was invaluable. She went above and beyond in liaising with the landlord and expediting the process for me, adjusting to my schedule and short notice changes. Great service provided from start to finish. Communication was key to us and they put us at ease every step of the way with regularly updates on the performance of the property. At times we became frustrated and stressed as anyone selling a house would be. However, we were put at ease by Chelsey our Sales progressor who did everything in her power to make our experience as stress free as possible. Had a property on the market with a internet agent and I felt very uneasy having to handle everything myself, I soon realised that this was not for me as I might of well just put it in the internet myself so I decided to go to a professional l. After meeting James I decided this was the route I wanted to take and thank god I did, as at times my sale had issues and between James and Natasha they managed to keep the stress to a minimum for me whilst saving me a lot of money in the process.
