Good service before and after sale

Sold our house after another estate agent had failed to do so. After we accepted the offer, Natasha the sales progressor was really helpful, always returned our calls, and was able to get through to the conveyancers which I was seldom able to (I wouldn't recommend their conveyancing partners, choose a good local solicitor instead!).

Firstly, I would like to retract the original review I made for Douglas Allen Estate Agents in Wickford back in Aug 2021. I was literally forced to write a good review whilst the ink was still wet on the contract. Let me now tell you the real reason I am awarding just one star, and trust me, that's being generous!! My house sold literally the same day but DA did not look at my buyer's chain properly which was involved in an EWS1 form re: cladding on their flat. Needless to say, the chain collapsed. It went up with DA again and sold same day again, however, yet again DA did not do their homework properly and my buyer was entangled with a property investor buying their house who had no mortgage offer. Chain collapsed!!! The sales progressor was awful to deal with, it was like treading on egg shells around her and I found her very rude. Greg, the sale agent, kept telling me to 'calm down and stop stressing' which I found highly offensive. I am a professional business woman and don't need to be told by a 25 yr old to calm down when I was perfectly calm! I finally brought in Stuart, the branch manager, to complain about the lack of work put into my house sale who was extremely condescending and said I had 'personally offended him' when I mentioned the sale progressor only looked at my file once a week (which she told me because she was so busy!). I gave DA notice (2 wks) in which time I said if they could turn the sale round, then all well and good. Not once did Stuart attempt to follow up with me to see if I was happy after our initial call. Shocking management Stuart!!! With so many agencies out there offering fees at half the cost and with much better service, I doubt Douglas Allen will be around much longer. They push and push their poor staff for sales results which in this market is practically impossible. They unfortunately forgot about the 'personal touch'. As for the glowing Google reviews, don't believe what you read!!!
