We have rented our bungalow out via Douglas Allan, due to covid-19 we did think things would become difficult but Joanna Alexis kept us informed at all times. She found us a great tenant, and ensured everything was sorted in a timely fashion. We received our payment within a couple of days via bank transfer (which is much better than other estate agents who I have used in the past, who used to send me a cheque). Chadwell Heath Branch excellent service

Chadwell Heath Branch - excellent!From the time we met Michelle we felt we could just relax and let her and her team get on with the sale of our house. We had been with another agency and basically wasted the whole summer. In 3 days Michelle and the Chadwell Heath team booked in 60 viewings for the open day, then sent round 2 agents to greet the viewers while we left them to it. It was amazing, we walked away seeing queues of interested buyers on our drive. We love the online service, you can see the offers coming in and they certainly did, for the asking price and more. Our house sold to a buyer from the open day, basically 3 days to sell it. The team continue to help with regular weekly updates on each stage of the sale process. A huge heartfelt thank you to Ray and Janine for all of their support in what turned out to be a very long and challenging transaction. You never really know how good people are until there are problems and gosh we had our fair share on this sale but both Ray and Janine went beyond the call of duty time and time again to ensure the sale of my property went ahead. They were always available (even on their days off !!) to resolve any issues or offer reassurance, this was invaluable during a very stressful period. They liaised with numerous solicitors to keep me updated during the process even when it wasn’t their job to do so - nothing was too much trouble for them. Quick and easy sale at good price

I've recently sold my property through the Wickford branch and all staff were extremely helpful in this surprisingly quick sale considering the current climate. Christy and her team were in touch on a weekly basis with any updates along with helpfully reminding me about viewings and were always very quick to get feedback from viewings. I was also referred to a mortgage advisor who helped up going through the costs of moving house and what we could borrow. Would highly recommend.

I was recommended to use Ray at the Wanstead branch by a friend who had used him to sell their home. Ray has a excellent knowledge of the local area and knows the market very well. He is very flexible and worked around my schedule. Ray was very transparent about the overall costs etc. He was sure he could sell my property quickly for the price I wanted and he delivered as promised. The sales progressor Janine helped to get the sale to completion in 6 weeks. The service I received from Janine and Ray really showed me that all the agents are definitely not the same. These guys are not amateurs, they were worth every penny.

Rude and pushy staff

Dealt with the Saturday team Spencer and Alastair today. Wasted my time in bringing me in to tell me someone had put in an offer of the property I was interested. Rude and Pushy overall wasn’t interesting in showing me property’s unless I went with their mortgage adviser.Think this reply is absolutely ridiculous. There was no need to liar in order to bring in to your office, how does this have a ‘friendly approach’ when your staff are blunt and rude? No other agencies needed to find out if I am in a strong position, as I already had a mortgage in principal set up. This just show how unprofessional and inexperienced your company is!!

Chigwell branch were a pleasure to deal with

Robin Bowden, Branch Partner at Chigwell was very professional at all times and his knowledge of the area and how best to market the property was first class. I was concerned about the sale of my property in Chigwell as I didn't live in the area, but Robin had done his research and put me at ease straight away. Within the first few weeks there was a huge amount of interest and the property finally sold at the asking price. Robin took full responsibility in the negotiating and processing of offers and he managed to achieve the full asking price with buyer's in the strongest position to proceed with a successful completion.Robin's Team in the Chigwell office were all very helpful in Robin's absence, particularly Sarah who put me in touch with a clearance company and I entrusted her to deal with that matter efficiently. As I didn't live in the area, it was never any problem for a member of the Team to check the property and take meter readings. A breeze compared to previous experiences!

Having sold my own home in 2018, which took 14 months, 2 buyers and 3 lost purchases, ending up with split chains and a rental property in between, I was not looking forward to moving my 75 year old parent.However, I'm so relieved to now be able to write how different each house move can be. Robin Bowden, Branch Partner at Chigwell was always professional, as too were most members of his team. Within the first two weeks of marketing the property, we had 27 viewings booked, although not all people turned up, which is par for the course! Robin took full responsibility for processing offers and negotiations, and managed 3-4 offers in total, which resulted in us obtaining and accepting a good/fair offer on the property. We could of taken a higher offer, but based on Robin's advice, we chose not to be greedy and proceeded with the buyers in the most strongest position, to secure a quick and successful completion. Once the sale price had been agreed, Tanya from the Wickford Office, kept us up to date with the legal proceedings, and in times when Tanya was absent, Robin stepped in, which was most welcomed.Overall, an extremely good experience: 11 weeks from the house being marketed, to contracts being exchanged (somewhat different to my previous 14 month experience, thank goodness!). Whilst there is always an element of fate with house buying and selling, a professional, reliable estate agent (and solicitor) significantly contributes to its success too.

We completed our sale in late March 2019 at 490k. We first marketed the property in August 2018, this time period was probably the most turbulent in the property market for 10 years.
