Very disappointed …

I tried to book view for 2 bedroom property. Call them and a lady said that she will call me back, she never did. I sent more enquiries and then a gentleman contacted and asked our details (income etc), I replied asap but never heard back from him. Another 3rd person gave me his WhatsApp number I sent all informations what he needed and then he said that there is NO AVAILABLE PROPERTIES for me!!!!!!! Im not looking for a castle just a 2 bedroom property and they have more then 450 properties on the website ( but nothing available for me- they said), not available 2 bedroom flat! I guess if my nationality is different and I have more income then they will find properties for me as well. Very disappointed, terrible customer service!

They demanded a non-refundable deposit of £500, stating that if my references didn't pass, I wouldn't get my money back. After submitting my details, they asked for more information about my rental history, which I couldn’t provide as I've lived at my current address for 10 years. A representative named Simon informed me that my references were not acceptable to the landlord. When I asked for a partial refund of £250, they bluntly refused, claiming the property was off the market, which was not true as it remained listed online. It's clear they use this tactic to collect deposits from multiple people without ever intending to rent out the property. I highly recommend avoiding Martyn Gerrard at all costs to save yourself from a similar experience.

Totally messed us around.They showed us a place, saying it's available immediately.We made an offer 45 minutes after seeing the place.They then said there is already an offer on the place.A day later they called to ask if we can increase our offer, once we said no, that's our offer, I added saying the offer will expire today if we don't hear back.They then called and saif the landlord wants to meet us but only next week (I am assuming so they have time to ramp up more offers)We then said that it has to be today as we waited 3 days to hear a conunter offer and they just gone silent. The then the next day they said there are 4 offers.None of that makes sense, usually when there is an offer on a place, they don't show it to you. but they showed us - then WE made an offer and they wanted to keep showing it. business in bad faith - bunch of muppets

Martyn Gerrard are absolutely AWFUL!! I’ve been trying to secure a house with them for almost 3 months and it’s been a complete nightmare. I’ve been passed around to 4, 5 different people, none of whom have a clue what they’re doing. They’ve cancelled my viewings over and over, changed dates and times, promised to get back to me but never did, and told me properties were available only to say the very next day they’d already been let. One property I was told wasn’t even on the market yet was “gone” within 24 hours. I even provided a guarantor and every document they asked for on a house I really wanted (I was the first person to view and put a really good offer down) only to suddenly be told it was given to someone else with zero explanation. Even after I raised how upset I was, they did nothing. Unreliable, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. Avoid them at all costs!!

Deeply disappointing and misleading experience

We were told by Martyn Gerrard that the landlords were looking for long-term tenants, which was a key reason we chose the property. Just three months into our tenancy, we were suddenly informed that the landlords had decided to sell, completely contradicting what the agency had promised us. Uprooting our lives so soon after moving in was stressful and costly, and it’s hard not to feel that we were misled just to get the tenancy signed.

If you don't have strong nerves, don't even walk in front of it

It's going to be hard to explain what I'm trying without using profanity, but I'll try. Please read them all. On May 20, we crossed paths with this company and I wanted to rent a house in Enfiled. I liked the house and said I wanted to rent it. Then, if we said that there was another offer for the house, they raised the price. I agreed, as there was a slight difference. They then told me that the landlord had chosen us and that if I gave a week's deposit, they would start the process. And when the transactions were over, they told me that I had to give another month's rent and 4 weeks' deposit. When I told them that their ads were without a deposit, they said that sometimes they advertise this way, but they ask for a total deposit of 5 weeks. I was able to get the deposit back in the future. Minus all the documents and evidence they asked me for.And about a week later they said that everything was OK and that we could move home on 20 July. And they said I had to pay the rent and deposit on the same day. 1 week before we moved to the house, they said that the landlord gave up, citing our visa as the reason. (which I think they definitely evaluated a higher-priced offer. because when I asked other real estate agents, they said that my visa was not a problem) they offered me a slightly smaller house in the same area at a high price, they sent the picture and postcode. I informed them that I could not accept under these conditions and that I requested a discount on the price. After this request, the transactions slowed down a lot. my calls were not returned to my messages and when you could meet, they said that they could not communicate with the landlord. In fact, the house they offered me is a house that is in the portfolio of another real estate agent. then I requested to end the trade due to trust problems and requested the refund of the price I paid on 14 June. they say that there is a 5-day waiting period to return the money they want on the same day, and although today is 19 June, they say that my payment has been approved but will pass to my account on 21 June. If I need to give you a piece of advice, if you are going to work with this company, do not pay before signing and getting the key, or best of all, work with smaller and local real estate agents. sometimes big. being big is not enough to be quality. you can eat a hamburger in a very famous and subeli place to feed your stomach, but you can't taste it. just like that. I think the company name should be Mc Martyn Gerard.

Sheriaz was helpful and attentive. He was very committed to completing the let and communicated well to achieve this. Would have been great to have had a floor plan, although Sheriaz facilitated a measuring session for us.
