GoogleI would not recommend using ELR as I do not believe that they can be trusted. They were the original agents when I was selling a house in the area but we terminated our contract with them after lots of problems arose when they completely changed their personnel in their Bakewell office without warning. (Problems such as being completely unresponsive and showing the house to people who weren't interested in it: surely estate agency 101 to know which houses you are selling).
Under the terms of the agreement with them, we were liable to pay them commission if exchange happened within six months of termination, so exchange was delayed to avoid that cost. Nevertheless, ELR sought payment of their fees via our new estate agents. Seeking payment when you are not entitled to it is dodgy indeed! ELR did not respond to my enquiries about why they had done this. For these reasons, I cannot recommend them

I am sorry Mr P, I completely refute any of these issues raised are about trust, I think that is unfair.
Whilst I accept we had changes of staff which may have affected the consistency of service for a short while, this was exactly the same for the subsequent agent you instructed.
ELR introduced the buyer of the property and successfully sold your buyers house, to enable them to buy your home. I understand the change of staff may have been unsettling, but ultimately ELR found you a buyer in a challenging housing market.
An agreement was made between ELR and your subsequent agent to split the agency fees.
Given our work was for you was completely unpaid and some of our staff were left deeply upset with your manner, I think it is a unfair to offer a 1 star review.

FacebookWe cannot thank ELR enough. They listened to how we needed to sell our house, which involved the ELR team showing people around the house 50% of the time and only at certain times. And they were always available to show people around, there wasn’t ever a long wait for a prospective buyer. Our house sold quickly and efficiently, and when we we needed to talk to someone they were always there to answer our questions in a very professional but warm and thoughtful manner. Deep thanks to Jenny and James and the team. Having now sold our house, I can see the very real benefits of using a smaller independent local estate agent as opposed to a bigger company.
ELR were quick to get the house on the market, this too was so efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending ELR and can only sing their praises.
