Great experience selling our house with ELR. We found the company friendly and professional from our first contact with James through to completion. They did a really nice job with the marketing and photography securing a good number of viewings and offers. Once we had accepted an offer the communication on sales progress was first class. I was always sure of a friendly welcome when I called in at the Banner Cross office. Leah who dealt with our sale showed a strong personal commitment to helping us throughout the process. I called to ask for updates regarding my maintenance and felt that the staff was so rude and brushing it off telling me to use their fixflo which had so far only has AI replies, and at one point one of his colleague laughing at the back. So rude.

Maintenance issues are logged through Fixflo so they can be recorded, tracked and passed to the right contractor, in this case it is the landlords own contractor who completed the works before move in. We can confirm that the landlord’s contractor has been asked to contact you directly regarding this matter.

He was always extremely professional and thorough and produced a high quality video together with photographs of the house. These were used for both letting and selling. They were followed by a large of number of photographs at the end of the letting period which were very reassuring as we were not in a position to view the house for ourselves. GoogleI would not recommend using ELR as I do not believe that they can be trusted. They were the original agents when I was selling a house in the area but we terminated our contract with them after lots of problems arose when they completely changed their personnel in their Bakewell office without warning. (Problems such as being completely unresponsive and showing the house to people who weren't interested in it: surely estate agency 101 to know which houses you are selling).
Under the terms of the agreement with them, we were liable to pay them commission if exchange happened within six months of termination, so exchange was delayed to avoid that cost. Nevertheless, ELR sought payment of their fees via our new estate agents. Seeking payment when you are not entitled to it is dodgy indeed! ELR did not respond to my enquiries about why they had done this. For these reasons, I cannot recommend them

I am sorry Mr P, I completely refute any of these issues raised are about trust, I think that is unfair.
Whilst I accept we had changes of staff which may have affected the consistency of service for a short while, this was exactly the same for the subsequent agent you instructed.
ELR introduced the buyer of the property and successfully sold your buyers house, to enable them to buy your home. I understand the change of staff may have been unsettling, but ultimately ELR found you a buyer in a challenging housing market.
An agreement was made between ELR and your subsequent agent to split the agency fees.
Given our work was for you was completely unpaid and some of our staff were left deeply upset with your manner, I think it is a unfair to offer a 1 star review.

I'm a young person who was trying to find a rental property, and facing a lot of prejudice from that comes from the stereotypes surrounding students. ELR, especially Catherine Denton, however not only helped us find properties but also went above and beyond supporting us to ensure we got to sign a lease. After 6 months of struggling to find something Catherine personally backed us to landlords, and was woth us every step of the way until we found the perfect rental.
So many thanks to Catherine and the Star Team at ELR, and thankyou for supporting young people. Definitely a company to rely on.
