I would rate Symonds and Sampson the best agents in Bridport and would definitely use them again. I found Daniel Mcgee to be very professional and personable and what I particularly found good was the communication and keeping in touch even when not much was happening. 5 stars. In the unusual capacity of acting as negotiators for the local authority (Dorset Council) with rented guesthouse tenants over compensation payments owed, Symonds and Sampson clearly showed they had problems in this role dealing with Dorset Council. Negotiations basically did not shift the amount to be paid out in compensation but did delay things for an extra 6 months, especially distressing during the financial turmoil caused by Covid-19. That is typical for Council - they turn any 5 minute decision at £3000 into a 6 month frustrating battle costing £35,000 and STILL no money actually paid out to those promised compensation as far back as October 2018. Symonds and Sampson got between the victims and the Council so have suffered in the crossfire, although they will receive handsome fees for their troubles. Probably good estate agents but outmanoeuvred by Council as negotiators. (Council also paid the opposition negotiator - talk about protecting the public purse - NOT)

GoogleWe have just bought a house in Kilmington via Rickey at Symonds & Sampson's in Axminster. Having previously gone through a house sale that fell through at the last hurdle with another estate agency firm, I just wanted to take a moment to express how great Rickey and S&S were. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Rickey, every question asked was answered with respect and promptly. Even when we originally viewed the house, we rang up and asked to view it that day and Rickey met us there that afternoon. Exceptional service, we will definitely use S&S if we ever come to sell our house (although that won't be anytime soon as we love it). Buying/selling a house can be a very stressful process but that wasn't the case for us at all. Thanks so much Rickey.

They have a bungalow for auction, we done two visits to the property and found that the property has multiple issues that aren't in the listing, such as mundic and the property foundation is moving, the property has cracks in the walls going all the way through , we called and after a bit of back and fourth they admitted knowing this but wouldn't amend the listing "Building safety issues: No" when this was mentioned to them by my mum they were rude on the phone and said "I am just a women off the street and don't know what i am talking about" despite myself having bought more then a few properties in my years" terrible service and the property is not mortgageable despite listing

Truly Excellent Service!After almost 6 weeks of searching, dealing with fake adverts, poor customer service...we finally stumbled across Ismay and the Symonds & Sampson team. They were fantastic throughout. In a market with very few properties available and numerous applicants, we almost gave up hope! But Ismay was a true professionals throughout. As an agency they were honest, speedy at responding and just generally lovely to chat to! We couldn't recommend this agency enough...

The Staff were very personable, however the sales chat was inaccurate. The exaggerated potential customer base was also not accurate. Inaccuracies in listing & measurements contributed to a 2 year dispute with the VOA & Council tax. We were advised to go for an auction option at the start which we declined. When we did finally go down that route we got no interest? We were a difficult property to categorise, an issue that was never truly resolved. As a very individual property I can understand some difficulty but an issue professionals should be able to overcome. Their lack of communication was very evident during a 7 month sale process, the silence was deafening. In all, a less than impressive service, but nice people.
