Consistently good service

Having purchased two properties over the years via Symonds and Sampson and now selling our home via them we have always experienced the highest quality service. Our recent purchase was via auction which is a highly stressful experience throughout, through which we were very well supported. We are receiving extremely good advice from a very experienced team particularly James and Graham. I would thoroughly recommend them.

We have let our property through S&S lettings, Poundbury. Ismay, Rosie and Zannette were always helpful and very good at responding quickly. Ismay initially helped with marketing and had a number of good suggestions we were happy to follow. We d a good response and Rosie showed us details of 3 good applicants. It was hard deciding as all were good on paper but we settled on one after discussion wit Rosie The formalities were dealt weith by Zannette who responded with alacrity in respect of the paperwork. We are happy clients and thank you for your advice, rapid response, care and ideas.

BEWARE of this agent.

BEWARE of this agent. Where do we begin - the rental agent failed to declare our expensive new house didn’t have functioning heating system she was very obtuse and stroppy, really unsuitable girl for a customer facing role. Shocked to find she was the manager and not surprised to hear not a popular agent in the area. Nor does it surprise me that they don’t recall who there previous customers are.

Since November 2022 Matthew has been helping to find the right house for my 92 year old mother in Beaminster. Finally she moved to her new home yesterday. Completing a purchase in Dorset via auction

I visited several properties being marketed via auctions by Symonds and Sampson over the past 4 months or so, finally being successful in a purchase via their auction in late October 2025. All the staff I met, liaised with over the telephone and spoke with during the period between auction hammer coming down and sale completion occurring were unfailingly courteous, helpful and knowledgeable about a process (purchase via auction) which many people are pretty unfamiliar with. Arranging a visit with my architect was seamless with S&S respecting the needs of both buyer and seller in how they managed gaining access to the property. I hope to continue a relationship with the members of the firm.

The most unprofessional service I have…

The most unprofessional service I have ever experienced in my life. We rent and unfortunately symonds and Sampson are a management company we have to go through. 18 months ago I notified them about the damp/ mould in our house and we had been ignored and had the most patronising experience to be told its our fault for not putting the heating on. My 4 year old son (since living in this house) is now pm inhalers due to the mould, had GP notes to state its due to the living conditions and had over nights stays in hospital due to breathing issued down to the mould and damp. We have been ignored for months, we was told that if we need to redecorate we will get money reimbursed (which they then refused to pay), we have been lied to just so they don't have to do the work and even had to throw our possessions away agter being destroyed due to mould. Last 18 months my son has been so so unwell which we can never get back and symonds and Sampson writ an email to explain it was due to a surveyor has left and they lost the notes of what work needed to be done ... well myself and Michelle was copied into the email of what work needed to be done and it still meant starting to the problem from scratch. If I could afford to move house I would as it means my son would be in a much healthier position. Luckily Diane from mill street is very good at her job and it's made us remain calm and not reporting all evidence to the echo & environmental health. We have spent thousands trying to help the house and new flooring and carpets where water is dripping from the ceiling let alone the health issues its caused.

Trudie and the Yeovil team were a godsend

My daughter needed a rental house for her and her son after a relationship break up. Trudie from the lettings office in Yeovil was a godsend. We found the house they wanted, and Trudie went all out to make the letting possible, and as easy as it could be for them. Symonds and Sampson have sold my 3 homes over the last 27 years, always speedily and with great professionalism. I don't hesitate to recommend them. Steve Allen of the Bridport branch of Symonds and Sampson has been my estate agent for my most recent sale. His valuation of my home was the highest of the 3 agents I chose, and proved to be the most accurate. On the day my home went on the market, 2 couples booked viewings and one of those couples purchased my property. Steve has handled my sale with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and intelligence. If he has been unable to take my calls, due to being engaged or out of the office, he has never failed to call me back. Nothing has been too much trouble. Move to Beaminste

From the minute we contacted Symonds & Sampson, we were absolutely delighted with everything. Our main point of contact was Matthew at the Beaminster office who was friendly, professional at all times. On a few occasions we called with a few queries & each time nothing was too much trouble even if Matthew wasn’t available, others in the office were just as helpful. The day of completion went extremely smoothly & when picking up the keys we were greeted with a smile, an information pack on the local area & a bottle of wine !
