I purchased my new home with support from Thornley Groves. Clare particularly was very supportive and extremely responsive via email. This was useful for me as I am generally unavailable to make calls during the working day. After the purchase was finalised, there were some issues that Clare quickly dealt with and acting as a wonderful mediator for me. Couldn't recommend more highly to be honest!

Trustpilotissues with Thornley Groves, but one employee has been exceptional
I have had quite a few issues since moving in with Thornley Groves. Communication seems to be a problem with them. However, recently we have been dealing with an exceptional employee, Abdullah Hussain, who has been excellent in helping us with a current problem. Abdullah has went above and beyond the help needed and has delivered the kind of service I would expect from all Thornley Grove staff. Super helpful and responsive and a pleasure to work with.My advice to management would be to take note of Abdullah’s exceptional circumstance and expect all staff to work to their level!

One of the worst agencies I have been with. Barely any communication coming from them throughout the 2-year tenancy, no complaints and issues with the apartment, until you want to claim your deposit back... I was charged a random amount with a fake invoice (nothing stated on the invoice to understand what the cost was). Very well established connection with the TDS to screw you. I left the apartment better than the one I got when I moved in but as they ignore my demand to be present when doing the checkout they can put whatever they see fit in their so called reports.Managed by incompetents, stay away from it...

My kitchen hob needed a replacement and I raised my concern on Fixflo as I should. Later I rang Amanda (Thornley Groves, Sale Branch) to check the issue and she dealt it with care and got it resolved with a very short notice considering the situation. Really appreciate Amanda's help and support :)

Avoid at all costs! When we moved in to the property we rented through Thornley Groves everything was an absolute mess, my only luck was that our landlord was very involved so she was there when we got the keys and helped me inspect the apartment, in the inventory made by the agent everything was perfect although there were tiles broken and many other issues, the apartment was definitely not ready for us to move in, but they forced us to move even earlier than initially agreed so for 2 weeks we had works on going, spend days cleaning the flat. When we checked out we left everything flawless but obviously we didn’t clean it with the toothbrush, in the final report they literally went to find any issue that they could so they can charge us, they didn’t even switched on the hood cooker and said it’s broken which is just ridiculous, the walls, the couch, everything was a mess when we moved in, we tried to clean it as much as we could but obviously old stains, can’t be cleaned, it’s so funny how they rated everything as “clean” when we moved in and now they are looking in every corner for something to charge us for. not to mention that before we moved the boiler broke ( again, third time in a year) and it took 10 days to fix, 10 days of showering at the gym while paying £1150 rent so if you are renting to that expect to be ripped of, scammed and expect the worst customer service possible (they never answer the phone).I never had a bad experience with any agency, my only luck was that I always had the landlords contact and I could communicate with them directly and we were on the same page all the time with her, a very lovely, understanding lady.When we were looking to move out, we wanted to stay with the agency hoping that the process would be easier because we are very busy and we thought we might spare some time by contacting them to help us in our search, all we got was a sassy attitude and the feeling of being treated like you owe them something.I don’t think they represent the interest of the landlords or tenants, they just try to get as much money as they can from both sides which just screams unprofessionalismWe’re now renting through a different agency and I can tell THERE ARE MUCH BETTER OPTIONS.

TrustpilotAVOID RENTING WITH THORNLEY GROVES
Thornley Groves did not release information about “cleaning issues”when trying to withhold deposit money, and provided misleading evidence to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme when we disputed their claim. TPO found in our favour but this took weeks. How many tenants does this happen to, and how many don’t think they’ll win so don’t fight it? Take LOTS of photos at the start and end of your tenancy, and don’t put up with their nonsense.TG also were slow to respond to other issues and had poor communication even when we logged a formal complaint. We took our case to The Property Ombudsman and again won our case. This should not have been necessary. AVOID RENTING WITH THORNLEY GROVES, and if you have no choice, keep lots of photographic & email evidence to save being out of pocket. Shame on you Thornley Groves!

few problems I can clearly post without losing my anonymity - Many new junior staff (which is not particularly bad) except they have a bad attitude, rudeness and extremely careless behaviour (teenager attitude) - Too expensive properties, they try to get as much money from everyone, I rented from them and my friend was living in the same apartment before, the rent went almost 60% in less than 2 years Now if I see an apartment posted by them I just skip it as I know it's over-priced - Don't bother to clean or do any of the end of tenancy steps, they'll charge you for cleaning anyway, I brought a professional cleaner before handover but they still charged me anyway -If you need a repair they did it quickly enough (hence the two stars)
