As a management company they do not fix issues when raised (broken dishwasher 5 months to fix, and fixed if n day if leaving, and shower never fixed after 3 months of issue raised) or release your deposit when the landlord is happy for it to be fully refunded. In the last 12 months Thornley grove estate agents have been abysmal since taking over from homes4U. I now have a new contact who is managing my property called Umar Rulal who has been extremely helpful and a man I can contact and returns my telephone calls which was impossible with the previous contacts who did not respond either from the office or mobile phones. I am assuming this improvement will continue and my dismay wit this company will become positive in the future.

If you are private renting and expecting a rent increase you should 100% question it if you think the increase seems far fetched. We received an email from Mathew Petit declaring our rent based on market value was looking at around a 30% increase £290pcm extra which is absurd. We were told to make an offer if we declined this amount but it would have to be ‘close’ to feed back to the landlord. Fortunately I have a contact number with my landlord direct which they were unaware of, so following a conversation with him it was the first he had heard about it and was not happy they had done this. I would be very cautious if you end up in a similar situation as I would say there is some foul play behind the scenes with this company. We have received an apology from them but the fact this happened in the first place is disgusting.

Bad experience began when the new tenant moved in the property. First I was charged wrongly of the invoice amount to my account, actually the amount should be charged to previous tenants deposit. Besides, the property manager of Thornley Groves failing to follow the repairing properly. When I was asked to replace the broken furniture, like dining chair. I replied to my property manager to get the quote for me, he said OK. However, he failed to do so, and only urged me for decision ! What decision he want me to make ? He seemed to forget everything he promised to do before, no quote is made by him! For the above bad experience, I had made a complaint to the senior management of Thornley Groves, however, nothing reply fro the company.Please be think twice before finding a property agent to take care your property!

Worst experience with them!! I lived in a property initially managed by AROUND TOWN FLATS which was taken over by THONRLEY GROVES later on. I vacated the property in a good condition last February after my contract ended but could not get the Deposit back yet. They do not care about resolving the matter and never tried to listen tenants point of view. Totally disappointed with the way they have dealt the matter till now!!

We've been living in Altrincham renting from Thornley Groves for nearly two years now and never really had a problem until last week when the fire alarms starting going off for no reason and all the emergency windows locked opened. Reported the problem via the website and got informed it would be looked into within 24 hours. Almost 8 days later and we still waiting for someone to turn up to fix the problem despite constantly ringing, emailing and even going into the office. In those 8 days the house has been freezing cold and the last couple of days it's starting raining so the carpets are soaked. Does anyone know a good lawyer who can help us with gross negligence? Truly awful experience and we'll be leaving as soon as we can. Would not recommend.
