Communicative, positive and supportive from valuation to completion

Our experience of selling our flat with Thornley Groves has been positive and supportive from beginning to end. Andy Clayton was enthusiastic and determined to sell our flat at a price we were happy with and this showed from the first time we met him at the valuation through to completion. Andy has been consistently communicative - always informing us of new viewings, amended viewing times and feedback received from each viewer. He supported us in our onward purchase by offering his insight and this was greatly appreciated because this was him going above and beyond his role. After finding a buyer Andy continued to show determination by chasing solicitors and keeping us in the loop throughout. Thornley Groves might be new to the Didsbury estate agent market but we actually felt that this was an advantage for us - there was a personal touch and a real effort to do their best from day one. Thank you!

Avoid at all costs

Extremely poor company values. No integrity in the way they conduct themselves. There is a deep lack of care and irresponsibility towards the landlord’s property and the tenant who lives there. A property delivered in an extremely poor state (broken/inadequate appliances, a bathroom light which has no switch, hair and dirt all over the flat) apparently was not their responsibility to address before the start of the contract, as they do not inspect the property and rely on tenants to report them. They have told me numerous times that it was the previous tenant’s responsibility to clean and maintain the flat, and the fact that the property has been delivered to me in such horrible state and has not even been cleaned (mould in bathroom, fridge, washing machine) is simply something I shouldn’t blame them for as previous tenant was the one who should’ve raised these. They have breached their contract and even accepted that some of the terms haven’t been actioned yet they have illegitimately kept my money and refuse to refund. I have an ongoing complaint and will likely pursue legal action against them.If you are a tenant, be sure that you will be out of pocket one way or another, furthermore they simply do not care about your well being. If you are a landlord, I am in no doubt that a minimal care is put into managing and looking after your property, and I am confident that value for money and professional customer service can be found elsewhere.Avoid Thornley Groves and in particular the Manchester City centre branch.

God awful experience start to finish!

God awful experience from start to finish - Leigh Johnson is especially useless.If I could give 0 stars I would, Thornley Groves are liars, from my own experience and what I'm reading in other comments have a common procedure of moving people into dirty, messy flats (claiming they have been cleaned) and when it comes to moving out, then charging them sky-high amounts for cleaning charges of which I very much doubt ever take place.Most likely going right into their own pocket, clearly as scam. We asked TG for receipt of the cleaning fee that took place prior to us moving in (as it was in appalling condition) for an entire year and still received nothing, and now want to charge us hundreds of pounds for a cleaning fee.Absolute trash from start to finish.

I couldn’t rate Thornley Groves and

I couldn’t rate Thornley Groves and, specifically, Sophie Stevenson high enough. Having spoken with a few lettings agencies I found the majority to be really unhelpful and uncaring, which is the last thing you want when you are looking for a new place to live - quite a stressful experience!! I came off the phone to a lot of agencies feeling really unmotivated. In comparison, Sophie has been so friendly throughout the whole process, answered all my questions, and has kept me updated at all stages. I also spoke with someone else in the office one day whilst Sophie was out and they booked me a viewing for the same day which I really appreciated. My experience with Thornley Groves has made me excited to move rather than making it a tedious process which I’m sure it would have been with some of the other companies I was speaking with!

Fantastic Experience - Highly recommended

I had a viewing today with Kelly McDermott at 10:30 and having dealt with a few estate agents so far in my search I really can say this was a completely different experience. Kelly was polite, friendly and extremely welcoming from the minute she opened the door. Kelly answered all my questions that I had about the property and was really very helpful. I arranged an appointment to view a property locally through the Swinton branch of Thornley Groves. From beginning to end everyone involved from Thornley Groves were excellent. As a first time buyer they explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and arranged multiple viewings of the apartment even after my offer was accepted, allowing me to go in and take measurements so I could order furniture etc in advance of completion. I would highly recommend TG to anyone, particularly first time buyers trying to navigate their way around EWS1 form issues etc. Many properties listed by other estate agents noted their building had an EWS1 form, but left out the crucial part which actually explained that while they had as EWS1 form, it didn't actually meet standards required to purchase using a mortgage. All properties listed with Thornley Groves were very much 'what you see is what you get', with no hidden issues or causes for concern. Thank you Chris and Natasha!
