Jo Goddard from Charters Estate Agency was so helpful and supportive throughout my nerve wracking 8 month long house purchase. Whenever I contacted Jo she always responded promptly and professionally. I would be happy to use Charters Estate Agency if I ever wish to move home again in the future. I should point out that the length of time the process took was in no way the fault of the estate agents but a problem buyer at the bottom of the chain

Inequality opportunity.

The actual viewing was smooth however i am disappointed for i wasn't given a QR code like other applicants and i got to learn about it much later that there was a QR code while viewing the flat. I called to express my continued interest after viewing and requested for the application form to be sent over which wasn't. I called again later only to be informed that the landlord had moved on with an applicant. I am highly disappointed for i wasn't given an equal opportunity with all other applicants. This was in Peacehaven, Brighton.

So fast and extremely efficient!

My friends and I got in touch with Charters a week ago in regards to renting a property, Sarah Bainbridge (Lettings Negotiator) was able to provide a viewing that same day! As soon as we saw the property, we knew we wanted it, and Sarah was so friendly, clear and communicative with us in terms of starting the application process. She even sent us an email to get the ball rolling as we were leaving the building.We were determined to get things sorted as soon as possible (though with no pressure put on staff), and got straight to it. Sarah and her colleague, Martha O'Sullivan (Pre-Tenancy Manager) have both been so quick to respond and have been so immensely effective at helping us through the application/referencing/documenting process. Again it has been one week since we viewed the property, we are currently awaiting reference approval amd are set to move in the next couple of weeks.I cannot recommend Charters enough and am extremely happy (and fortunate) to have had their help.

Tale as old as time, pre-tenancy management excellent, extraction from previous tenancy painful

I had reviewed extremely positively at the end of April when I found my new home, so this is an EDIT to my original review, with no prejudice to the staff I previously rated 5*. It’s such a shame. Edit date: 21.06.23Since moving from one Charters property to the next Charters property more than 7 weeks ago I have found the process of regaining ANY of my disputed deposit tortuous and difficult. I’m hoping this will be remedied soon, and is no reflection on the previously well reviewed staff members but it’s been a really unfortunate experience. Below is my previous review of the lettings agents who showed me the properties and were fab:My second experience finding a new home with Charters has been as good as the first. Thomas Andrews and Sarah Bainbridge have been charming and helpful and I've really appreciated their flexibility and promptness.

We’ve just sold our house through Charters and couldn’t have made a better choice. Sarah impressed us so much from day one with her experience, confidence, energy and no nonsense approach. They found us a buyer immediately and when it fell though (no fault of the team) they put us front and centre and made sure they got the right people in to see it. Not an easy house to sell, a period place that’s had a big family in it for 10 years and has no parking, so important to find the kind of buyers who are drawn to that. The team are relentlessly cheerful and reassuring and really put everything they have and their whole network into selling. And the way they manage and monitor the chain, communicating with all parties and registering their concerns was particularly impressive. I’ve had lots of experience with estate agents and this lot are faster, sharper and more professional than any others.Selling has been really stressful, and I’m really glad we chose this lot to be on our side. I’m writing this review to let people know that they should definitely choose these guys- you won’t find better. Thanks so much Sarah, Edward, Stephanie and Jack - we literally couldn’t have done it without you.

Richard at Charters has gone above and beyond any estate agent. We registered our interest with all estate agents to find a property that matched our expectations. Richard was the only estate agent in Alton to call us regularly with potential properties even though we were not selling our home through them. I cannot recommend Charters and Richard highly enough. Richard kept trying to find our perfect home and really got to know exactly what we were looking for. Thank you so much!

I first met Sarah when she came to value my house. Sarah was extremely professional, engaging and thorough, taking detailed notes on my property spec to provide a property valuation. On instruction I dealt with Jack, Ed and Rich, who were always extremely professional and polite. They were all, a delight to deal with. I was given prompt feedback the next day which was always honest. As the Sale of my property continued, Sarah was always on hand to speak with me honestly and openly about what was happening within the market and how my property fitted within this, I valued this very much. We phoned the Charters Alton to buy our second house. Spoke with Manager Richard, Sarah and other members of the staff; found to be extremely helpful. Met Richard in his office in Alton. He is kind, honest and very efficient person. On top of that he has extensive knowledge of property market. We went to view couple of beautiful houses from Charters, unfortunately they were above our budget. Richard is trying his best to find a suitable house within our budget. We would not hesitate to recommend Richard at Charters for buying or selling your property.
