We used Mackenzie Smith as 2 of the agents in the office had been highly recommended to us, John Munday, the manager who has since left the company and Jason the assistant manager. They did manage to sell our house for full asking price within days of going into the market but that sale collapsed a couple of months later, by then the prices had started to drop. Unfortunately for us we then had a succession of failed sales which ended with us finally selling the property for 35k less than we had originally. I do think that some of the failed sales were down to the agents not checking the chain thoroughly or often enough. I was very disappointed to discover that the manager of the branch had left and we werent informed, I’m assuming no clients were told. The management of a branch is key to how it is run and was definitely one of the factors of why we chose this agent.It took us 1 year and 3 months before we had a successful sale and I think my biggest disappointment was that on the day of exchange (pretty much the point of no return) no one from Mackenzie Smith contacted us to say congratulations.Would I use them again? Well they are certainly preferable to the main other agent in Ash Vale, however I think that if I move again I would use one of the online agents and save myself a small fortune as so much of the chasing, or asking for things to be chased came from myself.

I would avoid using or dealing with Mackenzie Smith Estate Agent again. We bought a property they had listed on the market and their lack of communication with the chain was appalling, a lot of miscommunication and stress was caused due to this. They also disclosed confidential information about the sellers and their money - which is extremely unprofessional and unnecessary particularly as I’m sure the sellers disclosed this information to them in confidence. The solicitor they recommended - Star Legal, to the sellers we were buying from caused a lot of issues as they were also appalling to get hold of, our solicitor had problems on many occasions getting a simple response from them. They were even very difficult to get hold of on the day of completion which made things more stressful than needed. The only way at times to get the solicitor to communicate was by telling the estate agent to get in touch with them which was very annoying, stressful and inconvenient when solicitors are paid to communicate to eachother. This is a brief summarisation of our experience and I would not sell a property with Mackenzie Smith in the future nor would I buy a property they have listed again.

As with all estate agents - there is much that they could do to make the experience far more "complete". The team at MS have been consistent throughout - providing responses when queried etc. Not always promptly but always pleasant. Like most agents - not really taking the lead nor owning the transaction; and despite being the original selling agents when we bought; therefore familiar with the property. Would I choose them again? Probably not as estate agents are an expense that I would expect should prove their value. And there are others out there that want your business; is this the negotiating way forward???Further update:Just dont expect a congratulations mail - the extent of the update to us and good wishes was the invite to the survey (from TrustPilot - not Mackenzie Smith) -, so no personal approach either. More than disappointing both I and my wife felt. Downgrading the score further.

When considering which agent to use, ask yourself what support will you get through the selling process? Will your agent be there for you when you need them? We have had excellent support and help from Mackenzie Smith from the very beginning right up until completion. They have always listened to us and provided first class advice, and also importantly sold our house for what we feel is the right price. When considering an agent particularly above the cheap online alternatives, you need to ensure continuing support. Only "traditional" agencies do this, and Mackenzie Smith in our opinion does this the best.

The Yateley Branch. I'd like to commend the two people I have been directly dealing with, for my property purchase, although the entire team has the same outlook. It helped to make buying property as painless as possible. So a big thanks to the two Gavin's - Gavin Fry and Gavin Fouracre who were amazingly good in chasing up my own Agents, and in fact the entire chain, including Solicitors, to achieve the exchange of Contracts in the most complicated & difficult chain I have heard of.
