GoogleMy experience with Whitlock and Heaps started out well but quickly turned sour! Originally I had been dealing with Jack a very polite gentleman and willing to help in my search for a property, I had a few concerns and he stated that everything should be ok when it came to potentially renting a particular property.
A viewing was pencilled in but, confirmation needed to be received from the current tenant that they were happy and that he would call me back, here’s where things started to take a downward spiral. I never got a call so 2 hours prior to the appointment I called to be told Jack was on holiday and they’d still had no news from the tenant yet no one had thought to keep me posted.
Eventually consent was given and myself and parents went to view the property, I wanted my parents opinion as I’m a single parent and wanted to make the right choice. I met Brian at the property first of all he made a snide comment on my parents being with me, which I brushed off, the current tenant told me more about the property than Brian did and the longest part of the house I was in was the garden. Brian had us in and out of that property within about 5 mins told me nothing really about the property, the tenant did that for him, didn’t ask if I had any questions and as he was rushing off said phone Peter if you’re interested.
Regardless of Brian’s attitude to showing people properties from what I had seen I was impressed with so, I did call and speak to Peter who is extremely rude on the telephone had no idea who I was and simply said I’ll call the landlord and see if she wants you to rent her property. I was a little take aback because I was under the impression from Jack that there would be no issue and it would be as simple as arranging to pop in and put a holding deposit down.
Peter said he’d phone later that day which he didn’t so, as it was a Friday I thought I’d give it until I finished work on the Monday to call, I called around 3.30pm spoke to Brian who said it was strange Peter didn’t call me and that he didn’t know the situation but, he’d ask him to call me back and I’m still waiting for that call.
If for whatever reason I wasn’t a good fit for the landlord have the common decency and respect to call potential clients back! I will now take my business and the 4K I have sat in my acct to put on a new home elsewhere!
Be warned if your face doesn’t fit this company will not help you!

GoogleI can't recommend Whitlock and Heaps highly enough! In a challenging market we would have been lost without them. Jack and the rest of the team went above and beyond to get both our properties sold, sticking to our deadline and achieving great prices.

GoogleI've rented over 10 properties in the last 12 years in Brighton (the woes of renting in a city) and rented from multiple different estate agents including the largest chain agents in the city. Whitlock & Heaps are by far and away the best agent that we have ever rented from, without a doubt. The staff are all super friendly, super supportive and anything that you need fixed will be attended to immediately. They take really good care of their properties and tenants, and don't try to screw you out of any money when returning your deposit (ive got the full deposit returned twice now! Almost unheard of in Brighton...) I would 100% recommend this agent, and should I return to Brighton will without doubt contact W&H for anything property related. They deserve more recognition for their great service. 10/10

GoogleWe recently bought a property through Whitlock & Heaps and had a great experience from start to finish. At no point did they come across as pushy, which had been our experience of so many other EAs. We found them to be responsive, helpful and above all else, Jack was a real pleasure to deal with. Thanks so much for helping us through the process!

GoogleThe service we received from Whitlock and Heaps was fantastic. We had previously been on the market with a much larger agent and found that they overpriced it and lost interest very quickly when it didnt sell immediately. W&H were much more involved, were honest, kept us informed, and found us another buyer quickly when the first buyer fell through. Jack was very knowledgeable and also just a really nice guy which does help when you need to be in contact a lot. Wish we'd have gone with them from the start. Thankyou Whitlock & Heaps.

GoogleReally positive experience with Whitlock and Heaps. Their Pricing was fair, the photos looked great, most importantly for me was that there was always somebody on the phone. Because they work so closely I could always talk to someone who was familiar with our property. I dealt with Peter and Jack and they were really helpful and friendly.

GoogleWhitlock and Heaps are a wonderful, professional Estate Agents who have recently sold our home in Brighton. They were superb at marketing our property, found a range of potential buyers and worked closely with us to ensure a smooth sale that satisfied all of our needs! We would definitely recommend (and have already done so to friends considering moving house) as Jack and his colleagues were a pleasure to work with.

GoogleHighly recommend Whitlock and Heaps Estate agents.
They’re a family run business with over 70 years experience of buying and selling properties. That’s what the website says and yes it’s true!
After trying to sell our home for 10 weeks by another agent we changed to Whitlock and Heaps who sold our home almost immediately plus managed to negotiate the flat I wanted to buy!
They’re reactive and proactive.
Every phone call was returned the same day from the moment we went on their books to completion. They kept us informed and didn’t give us false expectations like others had. I felt confident everything would run smoothly and it did. Jack and the team are friendly, welcoming despite being super busy they always dealt with any questions we had the same day in person or by phone call. You only have to drive around Hove and Poets corner to see their success rate for yourselves.
We are settled and happy in our new home thanks to Jack and the team.
If I ever move again these guys are the ones I’ll go with!

GoogleExceptional Service.
Would wholeheartedly recommend Cales & Co. We were renting with them and had no issues whatsoever from signing the tenancy to vacating. They treat you with respect and have done so much for us whenever we had any maintenance issues. We had to move due to the landlord wanting to sell the property but they really tried hard to find us alternative accommodation.
Special thanks to Brad and Juliana for always being on call with any of our queries and promptly following them up.
Thank you

GoogleNot recommended at all. This estate agent is not mutual between the landlord and tenant. The agent sides with the landlord on all cases. We rented a property from this agent and the landlord had family relationship with Whitlocks and Heaps. We asked for a new kitchen and bathroom to be done and they refused to do it. Once we got evicted, they made houshold improvements including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom in which asked for that to be done in the first place. Its even worth one star , shame you cant give them 0

Dear Harry
I was surprised to see your review considering:
1. You had substantial rent arrears
2. Our client had to go through the courts to get possession
3. You have made no attempt to pay the monthly instalments for court costs.
4. We continued to have contractors inspect the property for points raised by you even though no rent had been paid
Please also note there is no family connection between the landlord and Whitlock and Heaps.
