Called their Beckenham branch on the 12th Nov to enquire about a rental property that had just come on the market and was told by a lady there that a message would be passed on to lettings. Nobody ever got back to me. Chased it up on the 13th and was told by a lady there (same lady?) “we only have one lettings negotiator covering Beckenham and Bromley. Rest assured you will get a chance to view the property”. Again, nobody ever got back to me. Today (19th) I see that the property has now been let! So thanks to their incompetency I’ve now missed out on a potential tenancy. Utter shambles and I’m going to blacklist this agent if this is the level of service afforded to prospective tenants. **Update** I have been nagged to provide further information by Trustpilot. Not much more to add except that I missed out on a tenancy because of Truepenny's failings. If I make an enquiry re. a rental property that's just come on the market then I expect somebody to have the courtesy to get back to me...

GoogleIf you are a landlord, you probably won’t have any problems with Truepenny’s. If you are a tenant, you might not have as great of an experience. We lived in a property managed by Truepenny’s for a few years. Overall, they were nice to interact with and helpful. The property managers are friendly and know what they’re doing. It was easy to report maintenance issues and they were responsive. But ultimately whether or not something gets fixed is up to the landlord, and ours was not very responsive until it suited him. My only real complaints are: 1. They got our move in date wrong somehow. I showed up at the property with my newborn and wasn’t able to get in until the cleaners arrived and let me in. The agent responsible was on vacation. 2. Our landlord was considering selling the place and the selling agent who showed up to do a show around was quite rude/dismissive when we were going out of our way to accommodate the showing. 3. Our landlord attempted to take our entire deposit to redecorate, re-landscape, and re-carpet the house. It was absurd and predatory. Thankfully we got most of the deposit back after raising a dispute. But Truepenny’s did absolutely nothing to help resolve the situation. They seemed resigned to allowing it to go to dispute rather than encouraging the landlord to accept a reasonable offer from us. Like any estate agent, they will have the landlord’s best interests at heart.

Encountered one of the rudest salesmen ever working for this company (Dulwich office). He was extremely unhelpful, arrogant and condescending and that was on initial contact over the phone!!!!! This obnoxious man needs further customer service training as sadly lacking in that area. I would NEVER engage this company!!

GoogleMe and my partner have just signed for our first rental property together with Truepennys. After no luck with both private landlords & other estate agents being less than communicative or saying they would not accept self employed people, truepennys made the process very easy with clear instruction from both them and the third party referencing team. After being back in the UK from a contract onboard ships, we viewed the property on the Tuesday and the Thursday of the next week we were given the keys. I would highly recommend this agency’s for easy, professional & friendly lettings.

GoogleWould highly recommend Truepenny’s if you’re looking to sell your home. John was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve met, always helpful and very personable. I chose Truepenny’s as they took a genuine interest in my home and weren’t at all pushy (unlike a lot of others, which I hate). We set a realistic price and they found a buyer within a week! Overall a great experience so a big thank you to John and the team 👍🏼

GoogleThe way they responded to negative comments which are valid and legitimate are unprofessional. When I initially raised an issue regarding excessively hot water due to a faucet malfunction, the reaction was dismissive, implying that my complaint was unwarranted. They even mentioned that the previous tenant had never raised any similar concerns, despite the flat being in poor condition, including the carpets. Additionally, I would advise against allowing this agency to conduct viewings without your presence. On one occasion, I noticed that I had lost a pair of earrings after their staff entered the property. This was the first time I’ve experienced anything like this. Like most negative comments, they only side with the landlord after getting your money. Avoid this agency.

GoogleMy first interaction with Truepenny's began four months ago when I moved to London. The entire process was seamless, and the property was in excellent, clean condition when I moved in. Since then, I haven’t encountered any problems. All scheduled maintenance tasks were completed promptly and without any complications. Having a dedicated property management team has also made things much more convenient. A big thank you to Valencia and Mariem for their professionalism and quick responses!

The rental process was incredibly smooth and quick, and any maintenance issues have been addressed promptly. The tenancy department has also been wonderful, always helpful and supportive. Valencia, in particular, has been an outstanding source of support throughout my tenancy. She is truly an amazing asset to the Truepennys team!

GoogleValencia is one of the worst consultants I have run into. She is currently the property manager in our flat; she is unresponsive to our emails about repairs, blames us for bringing these issues to light, and will take no accountability for her own actions (or inactions). Our dishwasher and washing machine were not working which we noticed immediately upon entering the flat. We logged these issues on the platform Truepenny’s requested. These issues were then ignored along with our repeated emails. We had no choice but to contact their contractor directly. We were then reprimanded for doing so. Valencia was on holiday so didn’t respond for weeks and then was unapologetic about the fact that nobody helped us in the mean time and proceeded to be super rude and condescending on the phone (shocker!!!). Would not recommend.

GoogleI was in a house-share situation where one housemate felt entitled to do whatever they wanted, without considering my needs or space as a fellow tenant.Eg: Her male friend entered my room when he has no right to be there.That is invasion of privacy as I was naked underneath my sheets. Eventually, I reached my breaking point and realised I wasn’t willing to tolerate the situation any longer because it’s my home too, and I deserve to feel comfortable in the space. Georgia at TruePenny advised me to send potential roommates to the other housemate for approval, which was completely wrong. The contract only specifies that I need to replace myself, with no mention of the age or gender of the individual. This led to the other housemate becoming overly confident, knowing that TruePenny was on their side. Of course, they were, since the money was still coming in and they had no regard for my experience as a tenant. I wasn’t getting my money’s worth because I had to live with someone who made the situation unbearable. It was a mistake I’ve learned from the hard way. I feel I was unfairly treated by TruePenny, and I wouldn’t recommend them for house-share issues. They seem more focused on the money than the well-being of tenants when problems like this arise.
