TrustpilotBought our first house with truepennys…
Bought our first house with truepennys East Dulwich and it was a brilliant experience. As first time buyers, Trudi was always on hand over phone or email to answer our questions. Trudi was extremely helpful during the whole process, and when we had some issues she made sure they were sorted instantly - very excited 10/10 would recommend.

TrustpilotGreat process buying a house
We’ve recently bought a house with Trudi and she has made the whole process as easy and pleasant as possible which is a rare thing these days! She was always been on hand to answer any questions and requests we had (and we had a lot as first time buyers!) and she really pulled it out in the last few weeks before exchange when multiple issues came up last minute. Would highly recommend her and the rest of the Truepenny’s team!

TrustpilotThe team at Truepenny’s East Dulwich…
The team at Truepenny’s East Dulwich were absolutely fantastic and made the whole experience smooth and professional. With particular thanks to Kyley who got the job done to sell our flat in no time at all, especially in a difficult market. The whole team who supported the sale were friendly, genuine and comprehensive in their knowledge. I would highly recommend to anyone considering a sale in the area!

TrustpilotIt was a great experience working with Truepenny’s
It was a great experience working with Truepennys, especially with Conor. Despite the challenging circumstances surrounding my rental property, he worked tirelessly to find a suitable tenant. What I appreciated most was his ability to balance professionalism with a great sense of humour, which made a real difference during some of the more stressful moments. I truly appreciated his support throughout the process and would happily recommend Truepennys and Conor to others.

GoogleI would genuinely recommend using Truepenny’s Charlton if you want to sell your property. From the initial valuation (which was much more realistic that other overly inflated figures from other estate agents) the service by the team in the Charlton branch was excellent. We were trying to sell our flat in an already difficult market but Bhavi and David secured many viewings over the summer and finally an offer was made. The team were always available to help and nudge things along. I’d happily use them again.

TrustpilotWorst property agent
This is the worst property agent I have ever seen. The advertised rent was 1,650 pcm. However, the agent tried to negotiate with me to uplift £50 because they say it's instruction by the landlord as the property is very popular and there are 8 viewings are scheduled afterwards. I unwillingly uplifted £25 and it's agreed. Then, there was another problem. The agent say its earliest move-in date is 2 weeks after acceptance of the rent by the landlord which is never explained and mentioned in the advertisement which confused me a lot. I need to get in the property as there was time limit and my wife strongly wanted to move in to the property. But to be honest, I really hate this property agent. I'm already planning to move out from this property.

GoogleI've recently bought my first home through Truepenny's in Charlton. Through the process of viewing properties I've met a good few estate agents and I have to say David at Truepenny's came across as the most honest and straightforward. No estate agent script or nonsense, no opening of cupboard doors and saying "look you've got a cupboard" (I've seriously had that before) and most importantly, no BS. I also thought the staff at Truepenny's went the extra mile, having seen the property online over the weekend I called the office on a Monday morning and they did a viewing the same day. And finally I was flying by a wing and a prayer at times to get everything across the line and I appreciated David's patience in all of that. I can highly recommend Truepenny's and would certainly use them if I was to sell or rent out my home in the future.

GoogleTruly the worst service one could experience from an estate agent. John and Mariem were extremely unreasonable, obstinate and down right rude. Refused to request items from the landlord like removing furniture and allowing keys to be returned early at end of tenancy. Our boiler broke on one of the coldest days in winter and we had to quote the unfit for habitation act before they responded to my requests to send someone to fix.

Hi Sophia,
I am very sorry to read about your experience.
The concerns you have raised regarding communication, the handling of your requests and in particular, the loss of heating during cold weather are taken very seriously.
While some requests, such as removing a landlord’s furniture or changing the arrangements for returning keys require the landlord’s agreement, we should always communicate the position clearly and courteously. I am sorry that you did not feel properly supported and would welcome the opportunity to review the correspondence and maintenance timeline fully.
Please contact me so that I can investigate what happened and respond to you directly.
Kind regards,
Ryan Vella

Hi John,
I am sorry to read your review. We have reviewed our records and the only correspondence we have been able to identify was a standard request for information to help us register your property search and arrange a viewing.
We would never intend for this to come across as rude or unprofessional and I would be grateful if you could contact me directly through the office with any further details so that I can understand what prompted your concerns and investigate the matter properly.
Kind regards,

GoogleA lovely experience from the team here at TruePenny’s to begin and end the festive period last December! The team handled and guided us through our property search through various viewings. Istvan gave his expert opinion and I am so happy I trusted it as I am enjoying the comforts of my new home. Will absolutely recommend as John was a pleasure and placed me with Istvan, a wonderful team all round!

GoogleFuse box was burning and nothing was done after reporting several times, had to call fire brigade 2 days later, whereby they confirmed it was still a massive fire risk (Truepennys did not act when 15 people’s lives were at risk due to a serious fire hazard). I was put in a temporary room with no power, light, heating during cold temperatures outside (I was freezing - -1 degrees outside) - and instead of helping they ceased to act on my behalf, and cancelled the contract.
This left me with no one to communicate with, as they refused to speak to me on the phone from thereon after. I was left in a flat with no power and me and my girlfriend had to sleep at a friend’s house, as it did not seem safe but TruePennys didn’t care. The directors refused to speak to me after agreeing to call me back 5 times - truly shameful and Truepennys should be really disappointed with how they treat people.
They never reply on emails or on the phone.
They are now refusing to release my security deposit and ignoring emails. This along with mice issues, bathroom smells and dodgy fridges and ovens which were reported for the entirety of our tenancy and nothing was done.
However, not responding to a life threatening incident is disgusting by all accounts.

Hi,
I am sorry to read that you have experienced a delay in receiving your deposit and understand how frustrating this must be.
Truepenny’s does not hold the deposit funds. The deposit is held independently within a custodial deposit protection scheme and the return process is governed by that scheme.

TrustpilotIn Summary: Would not recommend
I instructed Truepennys Brockley office to sell my house because I was impressed with Sophia’s personality and communication skills. This is where my praise ends.
In my experience, and this mainly relates to Sophia’s colleagues:
• No feedback given on approximately one third of the viewings.
• Two separate planned marketing initiatives not undertaken as agreed.
• Online marketing ceased without agreement (brought to my attention by one of their competitors).
• Property details re-published online with information that I’d already asked to be removed.
• Online listing published with corrupted or pixelated images.
• ‘Weekly’ update calls took place just once.
• I was directly asked to ‘move in with friends’ on two separate occasions to allow the sale to complete. Asked indirectly two further times.
• When pressed couldn’t describe the steps they were taking to manage the expectations of the buyer; one thing this agent is good at it passing on the anxieties of the buyer and the challenges of their then accommodation.

Istvan at the Greenwich office was so helpful to us when some important post went to my son’s old address after his tenancy had ended. The issue was resolved within an hour or two. Istvan was so helpful and polite. He gets 10/10 from us. Thank you Istvan.

GoogleI've had the pleasure of dealing with Truepenny's for over 6 years, both as a Landlord, where they were exceptional at finding quality tenants and dealing with any problems that arose. Also when the time came to sell the help and advice from Hayden and David in the Charlton office was first rate and realistic too, many other agents talk a good game but as a landlord and a seller it's the quality, realistic advice that really makes them standout. Thank you.

GooglePlaced an offer on a property and managing director never had the mere courtesy to inform me of the outcome despite several calls and emails. Whe the property became re-available again, he was again reluctant to communicate with me despite me having 100K as a deposit and an AIP of 600K. Staff are generally unprofessional, lack basic communication and painfully unhelpful. A complete and utter waste of my time. One wonders if race had to do with this.

Dear “B F”,
I have thoroughly investigated your complaint, reviewed and cross-checked all of our properties along with all offers that have been submitted. I can confirm that we have not dealt with any buyers with your initials, nor have we dealt with any offers in the way that you have described. Given the lack of any records to support your review and the fact that our Directors do not ever refer to themselves as a ‘Managing Director’, I can only assume that this is a fake review and have reported this to Google accordingly.
If there is a genuine complaint to be made, then please do reach out to me via the branch email on our website so that I can personally investigate.
Kind regards,
