GoogleThe relentless patients of the East Dulwich team is exceptional and I would like to thank Connor and all the staff who assisted with our difficult sale. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they had no problems finding buyers! So Thank you all, I am truly grateful.
A big thanks to Trudi in particular for holding it all together! 👏👏

GoogleAlex and team were a joy to work with throughout the process of buying my first flat. All the Truepenny's staff are super friendly and always happy to help. During my house buying search, I came across many indifferent estate agents, and by contrast Truepenny's were a breath of fresh air

GoogleWe found our house for rent through the Truepenny's Dulwich branch, but Michael Turner and the team at the Peckham branch truly made it all come together. From start to finish, the process felt quick, smooth, and very well supported. Michael and the team were incredibly professional, kind, and genuinely caring, always taking the time to answer our questions and guide us through each step. We felt in very safe hands throughout. A real team effort, and we are very grateful.

GoogleA lovely experience from the team here at TruePenny’s to begin and end the festive period last December! The team handled and guided us through our property search through various viewings. Istvan gave his expert opinion and I am so happy I trusted it as I am enjoying the comforts of my new home. Will absolutely recommend as John was a pleasure and placed me with Istvan, a wonderful team all round!

GoogleFuse box was burning and nothing was done after reporting several times, had to call fire brigade 2 days later, whereby they confirmed it was still a massive fire risk (Truepennys did not act when 15 people’s lives were at risk due to a serious fire hazard). I was put in a temporary room with no power, light, heating during cold temperatures outside (I was freezing - -1 degrees outside) - and instead of helping they ceased to act on my behalf, and cancelled the contract.
This left me with no one to communicate with, as they refused to speak to me on the phone from thereon after. I was left in a flat with no power and me and my girlfriend had to sleep at a friend’s house, as it did not seem safe but TruePennys didn’t care. The directors refused to speak to me after agreeing to call me back 5 times - truly shameful and Truepennys should be really disappointed with how they treat people.
They never reply on emails or on the phone.
They are now refusing to release my security deposit and ignoring emails. This along with mice issues, bathroom smells and dodgy fridges and ovens which were reported for the entirety of our tenancy and nothing was done.
However, not responding to a life threatening incident is disgusting by all accounts.

GoogleI’m so glad I chose True Penny’s (East Dulwich) for the sale my development project. From the outset, Connor’s approach stood out for being knowledgeable and genuinely informative.
Our sales agent was Kyley, who was fantastic. She took time to visit the property through the development stage to fully understand our specification and ensured she had the right buyers lined up. We sold within the first 24 hours of going on the market. She also took great care of both us and the buyers, especially while navigating some difficult hurdles along the way.
The sales progression team were equally supportive, particularly with the legal process. I couldn’t recommend them more highly and will definitely be working with them again on future projects!

GoogleIn Summary: Would not recommend
I instructed Truepennys Brockley office to sell my house because I was impressed with Sophia’s personality and communication skills. This is where my praise ends.
In my experience, and this mainly relates to Sophia’s colleagues:
• No feedback given on approximately one third of the viewings.
• Two separate planned marketing initiatives not undertaken as agreed.
• Online marketing ceased without agreement (brought to my attention by one of their competitors).
• Property details re-published online with information that I’d already asked to be removed.
• Online listing published with corrupted or pixelated images.
• ‘Weekly’ update calls took place just once.
• I was directly asked to ‘move in with friends’ on two separate occasions to allow the sale to complete. Asked indirectly two further times.
• When pressed couldn’t describe the steps they were taking to manage the expectations of the buyer; one thing this agent is good at it passing on the anxieties of the buyer and the challenges of their then accommodation.

GoogleA big thank you to Alex (and whole team) for their support throughout our flat purchase! Always happy to help and answer any questions - we feel very lucky the whole process felt seamless. Alex was a breath of fresh air compared to some other agents we dealt with - was very knowledgeable on the property, was able to give us useful insights to the local area and generally great to deal with!

So helpful!
Istvan at the Greenwich office was so helpful to us when some important post went to my son’s old address after his tenancy had ended. The issue was resolved within an hour or two. Istvan was so helpful and polite. He gets 10/10 from us. Thank you Istvan.

GoogleI have just completed the sale of my flat in Peckham Rye through Truepenny's and could not recommend them highly enough - working with Connor, Kyley, and Wallace was an absolute pleasure. They were extremely easy to work with and ensured my best interests were front and centre throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again for any future sale/purchases in the area.

GoogleOur experience with Truepennys was unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant. Our lovely flat sold on the second viewing so that side of things was straightforward, we dealt mostly with someone called Connor who was great. The trouble for us came when the buyer’s father made an arbitrary and legally baseless claim for some kind of indemnity insurance and an altercation to the lease, allegedly at the request of his daughter’s mortgage company. Despite us agreeing to pay for a clause to be added to the lease, and later to pay for the requested insurance, this held up proceedings for an extended period of time until they eventually dropped the demand when asked to provide proof of this need by the leaseholders’ solicitor. Instead of the agents acting as a buffer to this man’s incessant phone calls and demands for movement, the pressure was very much passed on to us. It got to the point where we felt pestered by agents Trudy and Wallace who it felt like were working for the buyers instead of us. I would be filled with dread when I could see them calling. When we finally got to exchange, Trudy rang and tried to put pressure on us to move out within a couple of weeks saying that our request to complete in 6-8 weeks was highly unusual. It felt like there was no compassion for the fact that we had a young baby and had been messed around by the buyer for so long that we could not put other plans in motion sooner. Even on completion day, Trudy was ringing to interfere in the logistics when this was being handled by the solicitors, as is the proper and established legal practice in these matters. The pressure put on us didn’t make things go any faster but did make them extra stressful.

GoogleIf you are a landlord, you probably won’t have any problems with Truepenny’s. If you are a tenant, you might not have as great of an experience. We lived in a property managed by Truepenny’s for a few years. Overall, they were nice to interact with and helpful. The property managers are friendly and know what they’re doing. It was easy to report maintenance issues and they were responsive. But ultimately whether or not something gets fixed is up to the landlord, and ours was not very responsive until it suited him. My only real complaints are: 1. They got our move in date wrong somehow. I showed up at the property with my newborn and wasn’t able to get in until the cleaners arrived and let me in. The agent responsible was on vacation. 2. Our landlord was considering selling the place and the selling agent who showed up to do a show around was quite rude/dismissive when we were going out of our way to accommodate the showing. 3. Our landlord attempted to take our entire deposit to redecorate, re-landscape, and re-carpet the house. It was absurd and predatory. Thankfully we got most of the deposit back after raising a dispute. But Truepenny’s did absolutely nothing to help resolve the situation. They seemed resigned to allowing it to go to dispute rather than encouraging the landlord to accept a reasonable offer from us. Like any estate agent, they will have the landlord’s best interests at heart.

GoogleI've had the pleasure of dealing with Truepenny's for over 6 years, both as a Landlord, where they were exceptional at finding quality tenants and dealing with any problems that arose. Also when the time came to sell the help and advice from Hayden and David in the Charlton office was first rate and realistic too, many other agents talk a good game but as a landlord and a seller it's the quality, realistic advice that really makes them standout. Thank you.

GoogleI have recently sold my property with the help of Hayden, David and the team. The experience was much better than the previous attempt with a couple of other agents. Truepenny were professional, straightforward and delivered what was asked of them. Communication was effective and to the point. I can recommend them with confidence. Thank you!

GooglePlaced an offer on a property and managing director never had the mere courtesy to inform me of the outcome despite several calls and emails. Whe the property became re-available again, he was again reluctant to communicate with me despite me having 100K as a deposit and an AIP of 600K. Staff are generally unprofessional, lack basic communication and painfully unhelpful. A complete and utter waste of my time. One wonders if race had to do with this.

Dear “B F”,
I have thoroughly investigated your complaint, reviewed and cross-checked all of our properties along with all offers that have been submitted. I can confirm that we have not dealt with any buyers with your initials, nor have we dealt with any offers in the way that you have described. Given the lack of any records to support your review and the fact that our Directors do not ever refer to themselves as a ‘Managing Director’, I can only assume that this is a fake review and have reported this to Google accordingly.
If there is a genuine complaint to be made, then please do reach out to me via the branch email on our website so that I can personally investigate.
Kind regards,
Hayden Ellis
