GoogleThe whole team were magnificent during what proved to be a very tricky move for my family. Stephensons pulled out all the stops to sell our apartment quickly so that we were able to meet exchange deadlines set by the builder on our new home (which Oliver helped us reserve). The communication, marketing material and overall support we received were first class. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

From the initial appointment and right through the whole process, I was kept up to date with every aspect of my sales. GoogleI travelled all the way from Manchester to York for a viewing appointment arranged by Stephenson, following the location shared by Mr. Andrew. After reaching the property, I called the office and was told someone would contact me shortly, but no one ever did. I waited for over an hour with no update. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience, a complete waste of my time and money.

Itβs a real shame you felt the need to comment publicly on a small, long-established independent business that relies on reviews, without first providing the full facts or context. Since transparency seems to be in short supply on your part, allow us to clarify the situation. Our lettings team went out of their way to rearrange multiple appointments to accommodate your viewing due to your βrigidβ work schedule, an effort we made in good faith. Your viewing was booked for Saturday 11th October 2025 at 11:30am, with confirmation emails sent clearly detailing the date, time, and address. Despite this, you arrived at the property 45 minutes late, yet feel laying blame at our door appropriate, we can only assume you went to the wrong property. Youβve claimed we wasted your time and cost you money, yet it was your inability to attend the arranged appointment at the right property on time that caused inconvenience, not ours. The only people genuinely out of pocket here is Stephensons, who gave up their time for an appointment you couldnβt show respect to arrive on time for. Might we remind you, we have multiple viewing appointments each day and if viewers canβt arrive on time we must leave to ensure we arrive punctuallly for those who can arrive on time and therefore give them the service they deserve. As a well-regarded local agency with over 150 years of trading, weβd gently suggest a little reflection before publicly criticising a business that went out of their way to assist you. Common courtesy, such as punctuality or even a simple apology, might serve you better rather than false accusations, in future. Rest assured, based on this experience, we will not be recommending you as a prospective tenant to this or any of our other landlords. We prefer to work with individuals who demonstrate the same good faith and decency we extend to them. We wish you all the very best for the future.

GoogleWe have just bought our beautiful house in York through Stephensons. Having moved from South London/Surrey, it has certainly been stressful. We viewed the property in May, (thank you to Amy and Martin) and throughout the process, Sarah Sherwood has been the calm and guiding voice at the end of the phone. Our own agents who sold our house were great, but whenever I, in particular, had any worries, Sarah always told me, "don't worry, it will be fine" and she was right. We consider this our final move, but if we were ever to consider the process again, it will be Stephensons we would approach.

GoogleWe had been trying to let out our commercial offices in Escrick, York for over a year with two other agents and had no success. Stephensons Estate Agents stepped in and got the office (both floors) let within three months!!! Elliot Newby and his team were professional, responsive, and clearly knew the local market well. GoogleStephensons were nothing short of exceptional. With the help of the York team, including Sarah and Amber but with special shout outs to Oliver and Amy, they helped us navigate the sale of a unique period home. They went above and beyond to target and find the right buyer including innovative and completely brand new ideas for social media to help broaden our reach. They were patient with us as frustrations sometimes grew as time ticked on and we hadnβt found the right buyer. In the end everything they promised us turned out to be true. They got us into our new house for Christmas. What a present that was! Thank you so much. Iβd recommend them to anyone.

GoogleI bought my house this year with Stephensons. The first viewing of the house was just how I like it. The estate agent was informative but didn't follow me all round the house. I felt free to just look around and take time to chat to my partner about the house which was a good experience. From putting in an offer to the sale going through, I felt the communication was excellent. Amy looked after me and I was so impressed with how efficient and pro-active she was at all times. If I was to sell or buy again in the future, I would definitely use Stephensons again.
