GoogleAlthough our first impressions were very good, that quickly changed when the purchase went to the sales progressor, things went a little down hill. The lack of communication was very disappointing however, this changed when that progressor left the business and the file was passed to Toria. Since then Toria has been very informative and updated me since taking this purchases on. We have now completed and couldn't thank Toria enough for all she's done to help.

Staff at Alsager where very good, but the day i moved into the house, the sellers left it looking like a pigsty, 2 weeks later I'm still cleaning up there crap,it's the only house I've ever bought thats been left over flowing with filth everywhere, yes I'm having major regrets,this is not bloody acceptable.

TrustpilotThe negotiator on my sale worked for the buyer's partner. No one told me
I tried to sell a family home through Stephenson Browne's Alsager branch. After an offer came in, I found out by chance that the negotiator handling the final stages of my sale also worked at a bar owned by the buyer's partner. I was told she had messaged a colleague about the offer late on a Saturday night. No one at the branch told me about the connection. For months I had spoken openly with the team about my asking price and how far I might be willing to reduce it. I am not saying that anything I shared was passed on, and nothing should be inferred. My concern is that I was never given the chance to decide how to proceed with the full picture. In my opinion, a connection like this should be disclosed to the seller in writing as soon as it arises. I learned about it when a member of staff mentioned it in conversation in the office, after the offer had arrived, so it was known to at least one member of staff. When I raised my concerns, the negotiator was taken off my sale, but only because I asked for that. My sale was then moved to another Stephenson Browne branch. The branch manager has told me he was not aware of the negotiator's other job. I accept that this is his position. Even so, I would expect an estate agent to have checks that pick up a connection between its own staff and a buyer, and to tell the seller about it. The sale to that buyer later fell through. Over roughly 12 months periodwith Stephenson Browne I received around two offers. After moving to Bridgefords, I received strong offers within about three weeks, and the house has since been sold. I have referred my complaint to The Property Ombudsman and will update this review once it reaches a decision. In addition I sent a complaint document via email and recorded delivery and they refused to acknowledge it had arrived. Make of that what you will, some would suggest it's a tad childish, I am not commenting with my view. My advice to any seller, with any agent: ask at the outset whether anyone at the branch has a personal or business connection with people viewing your property, and get the answer in writing.

I had the unfortunate experience of being discriminated against by Gerry Mason-Rolls at the Sandbach office. I was put through by Emily at the Congleton Sales Team who was very polite and helpful. I was ready to pay and rent a property however I was met with an unbelievable rude woman called Gerry Mason-Rolls whose first words to me were ‘you haven’t asked me a question’. She then quickly fobbed me off the phone. When I complained via email she responded with when you ‘spoke’ to me and ridiculed the fact that I used Relay Service who speak for me. She inferred that she hadn’t actually ‘spoken’ to me despite relay expressing my words for me as I struggle with this. She absolutely discriminated against me and made fun of my disability. Awful customer service from this manager. I was happy to go into the office and meet them as I was told I had to meet them but she wouldn’t have this and kept telling me I couldn’t view the property despite me asking the weekend it had been advertised and the fact I was happy to pay the weeks rent to secure the property as I already know the house. I wasn’t refusing to meet the agent I offered to meet them. Completely unaccommodating and rude and unprofessional in their responses stating exact times my rightmove application was submitted however I received no reply from this despite them not giving me the time the response was sent back to me, because it wasn’t. Very defensive and non apologetic. I have waited 2 years for this house and they dismissed me instantly and I need it for me and my sons as it is near to their school and fathers house. It means a lot to us and to be disrespected like this was unacceptable.

Rented an apartment for 4 years manged by SB for the last 2 years. They do inspections every 6 months, never any issues on the reports. Apartment was a little dated and needed some modernisation and decorating, but was clean (could have done with a domestic clean) for the new Tennant perhaps surface wipe down etc. That being said i had to clean and put new carpets in when i moved in 4 years earlier. When i handed keys back, they reported i had damaged worktop and essentially made out i had left the place in a mess. Initial infantry report showed worktop damage was already present before I moved in which they didnt check. When I made them aware of this, the arrogant /cheeky woman on phone told me they would be getting quotes for cleaning. Few days later i was told this would be £350, would i like to do bank transfer for the remaing balance? To which i disputed. Then a few days later after landlord had been round to the property, I had a message of LL saying he would get the holding company to release the deposit as he essentially didnt agree with SB report. Some of the staff seemed polite over the phone, but the last interaction I had was disappointing and trying to charge me £350 was absoloutely outrageous.

The major work when using a letting agent is when tenants move in or out. This was done very poorly, several contacts in the office were not communicating and simply tasks either done poorly or not at all. i will not be using them again
