Elizabeth was my person of contact and was always pleasant professional and helpful. She coordinated the refurbishment of the flat in readiness for it to go onto the market. She sourced builders, obtained quotes on my behalf and kept me informed of their progress followed by photographic evidence of the completed work. We rented a property through Snellers initially for a 3 yr period. On moving in we discovered that they didn't have any control on the standards heave the property had not been professionally cleaned even though on leaving we would be expected to do so. The boiler failed immediately and it took the agents 2 months to get the landlord to fix it. This started a long line of problems which the original manager felt were not severe enough to pressure the landlord to fix. At one point we were told that Snellers worked for the benefit of the landlord not the tenant and then after a fault was fixed that the landlord would not spend any more money on the flat. The most serious problem that they did not address for a very long time is the recurring damp in the property which caused damage and loss to personal belongings again with no recourse. Despite the catalogue of problems we chose to extend as we were leaving the country and a new manger took over this did seem to get things moving to a point but pressure was needed. Having now left both the property and the country we are now struggling to get the deposit back. Emails are not responded to and even a promise after an expensive phone call that the money would be deposited and an email sent to confirm hasn't happened. The explanation I wad given also doesn't stack up that the payment would take 3 days to get to my account but sometimes 5 days is more likely the case, in these days of bank transfers fund transfer is generally almost instant. The company has no regard for the tenants it is only interested in obtaining funds from clients (landlords) and what is worse will take on properties knowing there are environmental issues and peddle them to unsuspecting tenants. I am glad I do not have to deal with this group again.
