Katie was absolutely amazing at helping us find our dream student home! She showed us round the house and within an instant we all fell in love. After viewing many a disappointing house beforehand we were all in bad spirits, but Katie's enthusiasm was the uplifting boost we needed to help us keep going! She was extremely knowledgable and was able to easily answer all our questions, even giving us extra information that we hadn't even realised we'd need. As a student herself she knew exactly the kind of things we were after and did an amazing job of covering all aspects. Overall would definitely recommend! Thank you Katie!

100% would recommend purple frog to any students looking for accommodation, went through them myself when selecting a student house and they have been brilliant the entire way through, one individual Leah even provided an extension in contract signage due to myself having guarantor issues. Other staff members were also extremely helpful on matters such as deposit payments where myself and another friend were charged an extra £400, even though this was not their responsibility to deal with they fought to get our money back.

When i moved into my room in Bristol the windows had holes, the garden was a mess and it was not clean. Weekly cleaning was contracted, but they came maybe 5 times in the whole year and the agency wouldnt do anything about it even though they promised it every time. The same with other issues in the house such as our front door that woulndt lock properly and our boiler that would break down a lot what ment showering cold for nearly a week on avarage. The final month we had rats and they wouldn't help us out. The worst is that after we moved out they still didn't remove the rats and the new tendants had the same issues. People can get sick!! Also they forced us to pay for things like wifi from the start, but they arranged wifi after 1.5 months. Do not rent via PP is my advise!

Dear Anique Sorry you didn’t enjoy living at our property. I have asked the branch to look at the issues you refer to in your review and comment. There seemed to be a problem with windows getting broken at that property. On 18th August, the previous tenants reported that the communal lounge window was reported broken. Our records show that a contractor attended in the second week of September and the job was closed on the 25th Sept. A broken windowpane was reported in a kitchen on 27th Sept and the job was closed on the 11th Oct. There’s another entry in the log on 8th November to fix a pane of glass. It doesn’t specify where. We have an invoice from a contractor on 9th November for various work on the property windows. In terms of the lock on the bedroom window, there was a delay in fixing this. Our apologies that this wasn’t fixed until 6th November. Tenants first reported the boiler being down on 24th September. A contractor visited the following day and resolved the issue. A Gas Safety test was done on the 11th Nov and passed. The next report was logged on the 24th April. A contractor attended the next day and the job was closed 29th April. We can’t see any more reports of the boiler breaking down. The front door was reported on the 1st April. The casing on the latch kept coming loose. A contractor attended the same day and fixed the issue. The house was cleaned when the old tenants left. While it is true that contractors missed visits, they were also prevented from cleaning because of the general unkempt state of the property. We have spoken to the contractors, as we pay them to clean the property. The rubbish that had been left by previous tenants in the front and back garden was cleared away on the 25th Sept. During the tenancy we had to remove the rubbish that had accumulated at the front house as tenants repeatedly bespoiled the area, meaning the council wouldn’t collect the rubbish. We cannot see any logs for pests. However, because the outside of the house would often contain rubbish left the by tenants, it is not surprising that pests would be attracted to the area. I understand that property has regular visits from pest control. Once again, sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay at the property and I wish you well for the future, Kind regards James Mason James.Mason@purplefrogproperty.com

My daughter and her student group vacated a property around 4 July. Purple Frog Bristol were not forthcoming with returning the deposit! E-mail contact was continually ignored and excuses given for not having complied contracturally in returning the deposit. Telephone calls were made and various disparate tales were relayed by different employees. I was at the point when my next move (as one of the guarantors) would have been legal, when payment was released. So I have just received the deposit on 26 Oct- 16 weeks after student vacation of the property!!! Purple Frog Bristol displayed appalling treatment of financially challenged students contributing to their hardship! Avoid at all costs.

Dear Kath I would like to offer an apology on behalf of Purple Frog. Sometimes we make mistakes. This was one of those times. We are very sorry that your daughter's deposit took too long to return. I appreciate that this has caused you and your daughter lots of frustration and hassle. I am sorry that you had to experience this. I am delighted to hear that the deposit has now been returned. Kind regards James Mason James.Mason@purplefrogproperty.com

Do not use this agency. I am very suspicious of the positive reviews. My daughter tells me that amongst the Bristol student community, she is yet to meet anyone with a good word to say about them! They are dishonest, money-grabbing and totally uncaring. From day one, our dealings with them have been a disaster. My daughter's student accommodation in Bristol (177 Redland Road) was over-priced and of an extremely poor standard. They were without such basic facilities as a boiler for the first two months of the tenancy and on one occasion (as a result of the boiler finally being badly fitted), a large section of the ceiling in the property fell down, endangering the young occupants. The sales team are immature, flippant individuals who expected us to be grateful that kettles were supplied in the absence of hot water from a boiler. They didn't seem remotely bothered about the ceiling collapse. We had to nag for electric heaters for the bedrooms in the property as winter approached and there was still no sign of a boiler. They are very quick to take money but take forever to reimburse. Full rent and utilities were taken throughout the period without a boiler and after months of haggling, tenants were given a paltry rebate of £90 each. I knew at the time that Purple Frog would find a way to claw back this small sum and more, at the end of the tenancy. My daughter's room was mouldy, damp and crawling with bugs. Several pieces of her clothing have been ruined as a result. She and her housemates left the property in a ten times better state than they found it but of course, as we expected of such an immoral agency, Purple Frog have kept a huge portion of their deposits. They have justified this by claiming that they have had to pay for cleaning (what a joke!) and overuse of utilities (they have yet to provide evidence of this). It's been one thing after another with these people so I've probably left several things out. I am a disgusted that these people appear to get away with taking advantage of young people. Needless to say, we do not intend to let this matter go. Before James Mason responds to this review by claiming to be unaware of any of these issues, can I point out that myself, the other parents and the tenants themselves have had extensive contact with his company throughout and since the tenancy. At one point, Environmental Health were called in, such was the extent of our concern regarding the well- being of our children while at the property. All of this is widely documented. In response to the decision to steal deposits, I sent a lengthy email to Nadine Bevis, Sam Hewitt and Alex Parsons on 28th September requesting evidence of their allegations regarding cleaning etc, none of whom have shown me the basic courtesy of a reply! Unprofessional in the extreme! DO NOT USE PURPLE FROG!!

Dear Abi Sorry that we only rate a single star. I assume that this is to do with your deposit dispute. I can see that it took quite a long time to resolve. I understand that this process can be annoying. Looking through the communication around the dispute, I can see that it has been dealt with as quickly as it could be. We have been in contact with the tenants throughout. Sorry that it couldn't be solved quicker. Unfortunately, sometimes that isn't possible. Kind regards James Mason James.Mason@purplefrogproperty.com

Useless maintenance team that doesn't care about their tenants at all. If you are a student do not use this company.
