TrustpilotAbsolutely awful company
Absolutely awful company.
The flat above me had a leak in bathroom, so no fault of mine.
A collapsed ceiling later putting aside how safe is an asbestos ceiling, my bathroom will never be the same again. Yes they are patching it up just a botch job while I have to take time off work with no compensation for lost earnings and they won't work weekends. Flooring ruined and walls all marked needs redecorating, may give decorating vouchers. Forgot to mention flat above is private. Don't have anything to do with this company.
Complaints keep getting closed housing ombudsman looks like only option. Local newspaper is next absolutely desperate for help. Mind I've been sent some links for mental health support so they cover themselves for destroying their tenants lives.

TrustpilotWhere to start poor landlord bad social housing
Where to start
I have wasted 3 years of my life reporting and complaining about 4 issues where I live
in a flat on a site
one serious dog fouling the others less serious
one trivial but still not resolved
The same response excuses legalities rejection
that's from the places manager
Complain directly to places for people
" no service failures found"
and they reject every complaint
The places manager blocks the complaint
uses there influence to get it rejected
trivial reasons given even lies.
My detailed information ignored
The culprits ex places manager callum fisher
now promoted to area manager
and the new clone places manager katie walters
That's complaints about problems on the site
all ignored
Repairs are taking weeks over a month for one repair that's on communal area of the site
Poor site management -
The places for people site cavendish court
social housing at its worst
All because of bad places managers
Cannot give a date on these issues because its the last 2 years and today and tomorrow
Just a simple everyday issue that can be resolved
no effort no money involved just a simple decision that takes seconds to make
yet the places managers still reject the complaint
the trivial one for 3 years

TrustpilotVery poor service, queries ignored multiple times.
Very poor service. We residents received a letter over a month ago about building repairs. However, the letter should have been edited as it contained three sections for costs (all wildly different) with OR in between.
My envelope also contained letters to other people in the block (about six in total).
I raised this through the web portal 3 times, wrote a physical letter, and again through the chatbot, all over a period of six weeks.
Absolutely no response to any of these. All the residents in the block need to know how much the works will cost so we can plan ahead. It's disgraceful that they haven't even bothered to reply.

TrustpilotThere isn't enough space to say all my…
There isn't enough space to say all my issues. Made me suicidal living in disrepair for so long. Refusing to fix issues which is for them to do. Everyone just lies. They've even committed fraud lying to their insurance company for a claim. Taking them to court too, again lying to the court. All they care about is money. 1 of the main CEO'S doesn't give a damn either. Yet the 600k a year he gets is basically out of the rent we pay. The ones who suffer with their bs. Initial agents care the rest dont. As a disabled person they seem to think putting light switches in different rooms and over 2ft away is acceptable. They take ages to respond to anything. Yet 1 week payment of rent not paid they soon message. Paul nailer/naylor. Patronising prick where ive had to make formal complaints. Thinks he's a big man speaking to people like shit. No one will tell me how to proceed, so looks like I'll be ringing the police. They've messed with the wrong person. I wont stop or give up. I'll take them for every penny I can. They think it's acceptable to leave people without heat through winter or expect them to use blow heaters yet not pay the immense bill. Blamed me for 13 years for mould. 4 years later and still mould. Wallpaper is coming off with plaster and if I strip it it'll bring the plaster board off. Which is a structural issue. Again absolute arse holes. Money is all they care about. 17 years+ now of bs. Court is the only way and taking money from them. Hit them where it hurts. My sister could easily be taking them to court for my death. So screw the small claims court, I'll take it further. Plus the fraud. Others got money. Refusing me and the lies they said. Mouldy bed and mattress they wont accept responsibility for. Mould ruining decorating. On top now the renovation works have completely destroyed my home. They're refusing to strip walls and replaster it. Which is what needs to be done. So I'll be making a higher claim for that. Sick to death of arguing with the morons and them thinking we're all stupid and wont carry on out complaints. I'll me telling the MP again, the CEO again, the papers if I have to. Committing fraud is illegal, but places for people are obviously stupid and either dont see that or doesn't care. I moved in July 1st 2009. Mould appeared in August. 17+ years!!!

TrustpilotHow to alienate tenants....
Customer Services is really hit or miss- with some experienced agents - Thank you Marie, showing care and taking action. Others seem confused and badly trained - adding up to slow reactions and confusion.
Is it OK to report mice coming into your flat, coming from a communal space/ gaps in pipe entryways, and only have pest control help after 11 weeks? No.
The conclusion I came to is that the 'delay in spending money' algorithm is king, and directing these decisions (unless its something like safeguarding, which they can be sued for)
PLEASE , Housing Managers, inform all your building tenants about building-wide issues, works, your actions, and changes!
Otherwise we will continue to feel ill-informed, isolated and undervalued by P4P, and any goodwill we might have had for your work will evaporate.

If I could give them a minus 1 million I would they are not concerned for their tenants all they are concerned about is the rent being paid. They don't worry about repairs or damp they certainly don't care about their properties their repair system is a absolute joke you report it it takes someone 5 weeks to turn up then the go oooooh I can't do that now take photos and then say we will be back like they are arnie but it takes them another 5 weeks they certainly don't like paying for things to be done ive been waiting nearly a year for a roof repair ffs its an absolute joke of a company greed comes to mind. I've already been in touch with your hub and to be honest the lady sorted out a couple of things but the roofing is still waiting to be sorted which by October will be a year , so there's no point in getting back in touch what placesforpeople should do is have a repair hub in and around the surrounding Hunstanton kings lynn areas not a hub where the rear people have to travel 2 hours and then turn up take photos then wait another 5 to 12 weeks to get someone else to either take more photos or do the job

TrustpilotPlaces for profit are now selling land…
Places for profit are now selling land to parcel locker companies, so that they can install these monstrosities in residential areas. in our case less than 20 feet away from a residents back door.
I live in a cul de sac of around 40 properties, and without consultation of the residents, they have sold the land allowing an 'in post' locker company to remove one of our benches in our grassed seating area, and install a large yellow and white metal box next to our footpath taking up one of our valuable parking places.Omitting any planning consultations.
None of the residents want or use these as many are older people who do not want the intrusion of extra traffic coming into our quiet and peaceful area at any time day or night.
In my opinion these lockers should not be put in residential areas especially as there is locker for the same company within a 5 minute walk, at a local corner shop, so far my complaint sent in June has been ignored.

TrustpilotAVOID at ALL COSTS
AVOID at ALL COSTS! I have been waiting over 3 weeks for Places for People to simply open the utilities cupboard so that British Gas engineers can check the meter readings. I am in contact with Bhavini, Amy and Jacqueline who have admitted that they don't know where the keys and have offered no solution. This is amidst on-going investigations for the Housing Ombudsman and a First-Tier Tribual case against them for mismanagement. You can't make this kind of incompetance up. Their management fees also just continue to rise and rise.

TrustpilotUnhappy is an understatement
Oh boy, do I have a few complaints!
Firstly, my current property is being flooded from a blocked drain outside. I know this because every time it rains, my carpet becomes soaking wet and I have a 1 year old. PfP came round to view the damage, blamed me, and won't be fixing the flooring.
So I applied for a property elsewhere, received the initial email, responded, and have just received confirmation that the property has been offered to someone else because I "didn't respond" although I have proof that I did. So much for first come first served, if I were you I wouldn't rent from this diabolical, discriminatory company EVER!!!
Edit: Why should I have to email you to find out that the property I live in and have raised an issue about is uninhabitable?

TrustpilotCustomer Service on Permanent Annual Leave
Congratulations, Places for People. You've turned "customer service" into an Olympic event where the only gold medal is for passing the buck.
Need help? Fantastic. First you'll need patience, a calendar with several spare months, and the ability to read the same copy-and-paste response over and over until it becomes your favourite bedtime story.
The complaints process feels like a game of Snakes and Ladders where every ladder mysteriously turns into another snake.
The slogan might as well be:
"We're sorry to hear that. Please contact us."
Translation:
"Welcome to Level Two of the same conversation you had last week."
If you enjoy chasing answers that seem permanently on annual leave, you'll feel right at home.
Before signing anything, don't just read the glossy brochures. Read the reviews. Then read them again. Patterns have a funny way of speaking louder than marketing departments.
As for me? My confidence in the organisation has completely disappeared. I've kept evidence relating to my own experience and chosen to take my concerns through the appropriate external channels because I no longer believe the organisation can fairly resolve them itself

We have endured severe, persistent damp and mould caused by structural cavity issues. Despite months of inadequate quick-fixes and dismissive advice, thousands of pounds worth of our personal belongings and furniture have been destroyed. TrustpilotUnprofessional
Very disappointing experience. Places for People expects its leaseholders to comply with their lease obligations and policies, yet despite repeated reports, evidence and ongoing breaches by their customers, we have seen little effective intervention. As neighbouring freehold owners, we have been left to deal with repeated trespass, parking issues, verbal abuse and property damage with minimal support. Communication has been poor, complaints have gone unanswered, and the issues have continued.

TrustpilotI didn't think that PfP could get any lower
Places for People are a disgusting organisation. I didn't think that they could get much lower, but they plumbed the lowest depths recently when someone whom I know suffered the loss of his Mother with whom he shared the property. Just TWO days after she died, PfP contacted him to say he had to find somewhere else to live as they claimed he couldn't afford the rent. This situation which was nothing short of bullying a tenant who was grieving for the loss of his mum continued for several months before he was able to sort out the tenancy.
