Outstanding level of service. We sold our property using Oakwood Estates Burnham. Very prompt reply to all our questions. They always kept us up to date with viewing progress etc. Especially big thanks to Joanne. Highly recommended Estate Agent.

I instructed John Lee to sell my property based on his recent sales history of similar properties and his honest approach. In the current market where other agents were not so positive John was confident he could get me a sale for the price I wanted and he did not disappoint. I had a buyer in the first week and 6 weeks later I had exchanged on both my sale and purchase! I was happy with the pre-sales (professional photo's, marketing brochure) and after sales with Nigel the sales negotiator who was a great intermediary between myself and the buyer. And even better they offer very competitive rates. Have recommended to local friends and family.

Top marks. Fab family business with instant results when it came to renting out my property. Initially went to them as my daughter had let a place in Datchet through them a couple of years ago and spoke highly. I wasn't disappointed. Key positives was their communication levels. Texts, emails, follow up calls, reports on progress etc. This proactive approach is bang on the money. Jez.

Unfortunately, Oakwood Estates have managed to achieve the dubious title of worst estate agent I have ever had the misfortune of renting with. Firstly, we were given a move in date of one time - however, once we received a contract, the date for moving in was 2 weeks later than this...! This meant a huge deal of inconvenience for all of us as we had to move all of our things into temporary storage and find alternative accommodation. Secondly, the house was absolutely filthy when we moved in. We had previously enquired as to whether the house would have been professionally cleaned before our move in day, and were told that if we insisted on this it would cost £1000 (and that the equivalent would need to be paid when we moved out). We declined this extortionate cost, and unfortunately this meant it was an absolute pig sty. The drawers were full of rubbish in bin bags, the oven was disgusting and had clearly never been cleaned the whole of the previous tenancy, the freezer was entirely frozen over... and we ended up having to clean this before we could move our things in. This took all 5 of us, hours. We received nothing in return, not even an apology. We had multiple issues with the house we rented subsequently (damp, faulty showers, cracked floors) which were reported in a timely manner by us, but were never fixed. We received no reduction on our rent either to compensate. Halfway through our tenancy we got burgled. This was hugely distressing, and a number of valuable items were stolen from us. We reported the break in immediately - and all we received in return was criticism. It must have been our fault, they said, as we didn’t double bolt the door - but do bear in mind we never received a key for this second bolt!! We were initially asked to pay extra to fix the door which had been kicked in on account of this, despite this clearly being covered by the landlords house insurance as per the contract. This entirely unfair accusation and lack of empathy in a hugely distressing situation shocked and appalled us all. Things went from bad to worse when we came to moving out. We (despite of course being able to leave the house “in the same state as which is was found”), left it spotless. We even pressure washed the patio! When it came to getting our deposit back, we received a ridiculous statement saying that an enormous amount of money would be taken from us for “missing items” (like the rubbish bags from the drawers when we moved in?) and, worst of all, for cleaning costs. How they had the cheek to claim this considering the state of the place when we moved in is beyond me. We treated this house with nothing but respect, and actually loved living there and in the community surroundings. It was horribly unfortunate that we are left with the sour taste in our mouths from the way we were treated by Oakwood Estates. When we confronted them about the obscene costs we were faced with, and the shock and horror we felt at their lack of empathy and consideration for our situation, we were told they were “just the messengers” between us and the landlord. They failed to support us in any of these proceedings, and we were consistently faced with an unhelpful “computer says no” approach by staff. Bearing in mind I have rented for 10 years now, this experience is by far the worst of them all. Absolutely appalled. Do not use.

Agent replied · 16 June 2024

Dear Sarah, I do feel for you as your experience was not a good one. The unfortunate nature of this agreement was that it was an introduction contract with the Landlord which ties are hands on a number of issues you have raised. If an introduction service is selected by a Landlord than as an agency we are solely contracted to find and introduce a tenant. Once issues arise it is up to the Landlord to get them resolved as we are not instructed to carry out maintenance works. Its only when a Landlord opts for Full Management that we are able to take a proactive stance when pre, mid and end of tenancy issues arise. When reading through the case I can see your frustration as against our advice a claim was made against your deposit. Thankfully the DPS awarded in your favour. Yours sincerely Elle Customer Service

AVOID. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. while we are not the first divorcing couple needing a house valuation, the way it was handled by edward was shocking. our house valuation was setup & confirmed with both parties. one party could not attend due to the divorce proceedings/abusive behaviour of the other party. one party contacted edward to make sure everyone was on the same page (requesting a full valuation as opposed to a quick sale valuation), and made him aware that one party would not be attending the scheduled valuation. one party had to chase up the valuation results a week later. after finding out (after an abusive tirade from the other party) that edward took it upon himself to ask for other party's permission to release the valuation details, edward claimed no responsibility. again, BOTH PARTIES were confirmed on the appointment, BOTH own the house, BOTH were involved in the valuation conversation. when called out, edward merely apologized for "any inconvenience". Oakwood Estates, I will never do business with you ever again.

Lucie · 16 June 2019 · Oakwood Estates Datchet

Agent replied · 14 June 2024

Dear Lucie, In response to your feedback I would like to address the following points taken from your review: When the valuation was booked I was unaware that this was a divorce case and this was also not made explicitly clear to me at the valuation. As you were not present at the valuation (for reasons I only found out about afterwards) I checked with your partner if it was okay for me to provide you with my valuation (I presumed this was something which would have been discussed between you) and he agreed. I then provided you with the valuation and wished you the best of luck with the sale. I never intended to become involved in a dispute between yourself and your partner and, once you had explained the situation in more detail, I sincerely apologised for causing any inconvenience. I explained that I was just following data protection regulations and was acting in a professional manner according to those guidelines. I understand that you did not accept my apology on that occasion but, again, I am very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and wish you the best with the sale of your property. Edward Godfrey - Sales Director

Not to use them brother I would recommend anyone... high turnover of staff customer suffers with their mismanagement. Costing me more than half of my security deposit because of their poor communication ...dealing with them is absolute waste of time and money....and if you want to escalate the problem manager Tim Halls doesn't want to let it go further it is his way or high way
