Maia has been an absolute star throughout our entire house-buying journey. As first-time buyers, we had plenty of questions, and she was always patient, kind, and happy to explain things, sometimes more than once! Her communication was outstanding, keeping everything moving smoothly between both parties’ solicitors and making sure we always had the information we needed. Yesterday, we picked up the keys to our new home from Maia, who surprised us with a lovely card and a box of chocolates. It was such a thoughtful touch and a perfect moment to thank her in person. Some of the staff at Oakwood Estates did a good job, was proactive - this includes the staff in charge of viewings and admin. However, my experience with Edward Godfrey during the purchase process was frustrating from start to finish. Communication was inconsistent, and I had to chase repeatedly for updates that should have been proactively provided. Most importantly, they failed to clearly disclose that the sellers were in the process of re-creating a chain, a major detail that significantly affected the timeline and complexity of the purchase. We had to keep amending our plans 3/4 times as a result. This lack of transparency felt either careless or deliberately misleading. Buying a property is already stressful; working with an agent who withholds key information and communicates poorly only makes it worse. I wouldn’t recommend Edward Godfrey based on this experience.

Invited 4 estate agents in to value my mother's home and thought all of them were professional and easy to deal with. However, I had a gut feeling that Oakwood were going to be the most proactive at selling the house and getting me close to the asking price that they and 2 other agents agreed on. I wasn't disappointed, as they lined up something like 8 viewings inside the first week and I had an acceptable offer 5 days after the 1st viewing - the quickest I have ever sold a property. Completion was done in 11 weeks despite some incompetence from the buyers solicitor (which Oakwood managed to sort out at the final hurdle). I would definitely recommend.

The service we have received from Oakwood Estates was absolutely excellent from start to finish. Finding a property is really hard these days and I felt like Oakwood Estates was the only estate agency that actually WANTED to help us. All other agencies just take down your details and you never hear from them again. Oakwood Estates actually sat down with me to show me some properties, no other agencies did that!!! When we decided to move forward we had assistance from Holly all the way through. I was so pleasantly surprised with how accommodating and organised she was. She made sure we were updated on every step and got back to us super quickly on any questions we had. I have never received such excellent customer service from any estate agent (which is kind of sad because this ☝🏼should be the norm!) Big thank you to Holly and the team!
