Google⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently purchased our new home through Mortimers in Accrington and we cannot thank Leaoni and Emily enough for all of their help throughout the process. From start to finish, they were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always happy to help with any questions or concerns we had. Moving house can be a stressful experience, but Leaoni and Emily went above and beyond to keep us updated, provide reassurance, and ensure everything progressed as smoothly as possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their friendly, approachable manner made a huge difference during what can often be a challenging time. Their communication was excellent, and they were always on hand to offer support whenever we needed it. GoogleOnly had 2 experiences with mortimers, the first the estate agent was late to the viewing and the homeowners had to show us around, and the second our viewing was cancelled the day before with no explanation, had to ring up to find out the property was under offer.

GoogleI’ve just had one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had with an estate agent after enquiring about a rental property through Mortimers in Clitheroe. I received a call to go through some pre-qualifying questions and was asked whether I had any adverse credit history. I answered honestly and explained my circumstances. The response I got was incredibly rude and dismissive, I was immediately informed that I would fail referencing and that I can’t even apply for any of their properties. I explained that I am now debt free, earn more than enough to comfortably afford the rent, have an excellent rental history, can provide references, and even have a guarantor available if required. None of that mattered. I was flat-out refused before even being allowed to view or formally apply for the property in question. What makes this even more frustrating is being told they would consider applicants currently in debt, but not someone who has had debt written off and has since rebuilt their finances responsibly. That logic makes absolutely no sense. The overall tone of the conversation was extremely judgemental and degrading. I was spoken to as though I was beneath consideration from the moment I answered honestly. There was absolutely no empathy, professionalism or willingness to discuss options. I appreciate landlords and agents need criteria but that is extreme and circumstances should be judged individually. There’s a way to speak to people respectfully, and this was not it.

She kept me regularly updated at every stage, which made what can often be a stressful experience much easier to manage. Emily went above and beyond by actively chasing the sale of my old property to help ensure everything progressed smoothly. Her dedication, communication, and commitment were instrumental in making the transition into my new home as seamless as possible. GoogleWe had a brilliant experience working with Emily, from our first viewing to the day we got the keys, she was proactive, transparent, and genuinely on our side. Communication was second to none, calls and emails were answered quickly, and updates came before we even had to ask. If I had any questions I knew I could drop her an email and she would reply fast with an answer, or managed to find out how to get me an answer through her hard work and dedication. Emily made sure to keep the line of communication moving in a time where it felt it had gone quiet by chasing enquiries, communicating with the sellers on our behalf and asking and keeping the solicitor chain moving. She calmly navigated a couple of hiccups without any drama and at no point did I feel I couldn’t approach her with any questions or problems I faced. Nothing ever felt too much for her- just thoughtful guidance and clear next steps. Thanks to Emily and the whole team at Mortimers, the whole process felt smooth and stress-free in which can be a very stressful time! GoogleWe recently closed on my old house and I was so impressed with Charlotte and Ben and everything they did to help push it through. We had some issues with a third party but Charlotte was chasing constantly and advising me of her progress. It was a hard slog but we got there in the end and I am so appreciative. She provided full updates for where each house was in the chain every week and if we ever called in she would be extremely helpful. Cara was excellent in helping us achieve an asking price offer soon after the house went on the market and Grace provided an equally great service in keeping the whole process on track to completion. During the process my impatience grew and it was explained by Grace that it is normal to take many weeks to complete a property sale nowadays.

GoogleWe sold and bought our new house through Mortimors at Clitheroe in 25/26 and the whole team were fantastic. As is the nature of buying and selling, the process didn’t always run smoothly due to land registry checks and solicitor hold ups. Ben and Charlotte went above and beyond, helping us to feel relaxed and confident in the process, and liaising with all relevant parties. Charlotte especially dealt with SO many queries and delays on our behalf, really pushing to get us over the line by our required date. We want to thank you for all you did in helping us find our dream home. We would highly recommend the whole team at Clitheroe to anyone.
