I viewed a property in Buxton, and was shown round by Emily Bygraves, one of the property consultants with Minors and Brady's Wroxham office. The last time I moved was over 13 years ago, so I was understandably a little out of my 'comfort zone'. From our very first viewing to completion of our sale, Minors & Brady have been great. Brilliant service with friendly staff. Gina dealt with us throughout the purchase process and was fab to deal with. Communication was good, whilst often we couldn't get through on the phone straight away however she always returned calls in a timely manner and was extremely prompt at responding to emails. We had some difficulty with communication from solicitors on both sides however Gina was excellent at liaising with all parties and she was always polite and professional to deal with, keeping us constantly updated on the position of our sale. We had a really poor experience with M&B on the sale of our flat. At initial valuation we were “guaranteed” that some offers placed on another flat in our building to be ported over to our flat- when this didn’t happen we were informed it was a “mistake” and there weren’t any offers to port over. There was then a disagreement between our 2 estate agents (as we had dual listed) on who took the sale. We didn’t have a preference over who took it, but the M&B team called our first time buyer threatening that there would be legal action if they didn’t get the sale which almost scared him into withdrawing his offer. Once that was sorted out there were numerous delays in the process of the sale, most of which was due to poor solicitors etc but the initial aftersales was awful. We went months where the only conversation we received from the aftersales lead on our case was ‘FYI’ with forwarded emails. It got to the point we had to ask for the manager of aftersales to take on our case so we received some actual politeness and proactive behaviour. The two stars are for Emma Atkin alone, had she have not taken on our sale when we asked her too I doubt it would have completed, but 8 months later she got us there. Despite Emma being great, we would not list or preferably even buy through M&B again.
