I spent quite a long time looking for the right apartment to rent on my move up to Birmingham and Melissa Wilson was fantastic throughout the process. On my first visit up to Birmingham for a viewing Melissa lined up some extra viewings on the day that fit the criteria and continued to send over options that were actually aligned to what I was looking for. Melissa then helped me through the tenancy application process through to signing. I found the agency professional to work with and someone was always on hand.

Jamie at James Laurence was so helpful and professional. My partner original viewed the apartment before i could see it. Jamie went above and beyond and went out of his way to ensure i could view it once we had accepted. Whilst transitioning over again Jamie took the time to allow up to come in and measure up for some of our furniture and continued to touch base regularly with us to ensure we were happy. Jamie is extremely friendly and chatty which made the whole experience very easy and there was nothing that he would not do to ensure we had everything we wanted and needed before moving. He checked in with us afterwards to make sure we had settled in as well which i thought was a lovely personalized touch. Thank you Jamie

It is extremely disappointing to have to write this review, but I feel it is only fair to share my experience with others. I made an offer, mid mortgage process I was gazumped. I appreciate this is or can be common but it is the "how" what is so disappointing. When I made the offer and agreed on the selling price, the state agent and I did discuss the negotiation strategy. After the higher bet came into play, the seller declined my offer (same value as buyer #2) because (I quote) "the other purchaser saw the value in the apartment with offering asking price straight away". I truly wonder how the seller can make such statements, same as the State Agent Manager, as they never spoke to me during the initial process, and during the second part of the negotiation I was left in the dark, no advise, no insight. Now call me crazy, but is the role from a state agent not that of sharing insight and enabling the buyer to get the property they want while supporting the negotiation stage with relevant intel? I might be a romantic. Just a reminder to those who might have been to long in the other side and forget that, buyers, we do not get to see the full story and honestly in this instance I need to say that Jeevan and James did show extremely poor support and very little interest in helping me get the property that I had agreed on and expressed in multiple times that I really wanted. Specially I feel let down in in negotiation stage two.

We have rented with other renting agencies in Birmingham before and none compare to the excellent and professional service we receive from James Laurence! They have many properties, all in a good state and any maintenance issues that appeared have been dealt with quickly. We were actually introduced to James Laurence when mid-tenancy, our landlord decided to change agencies as the previous one did not care to answer them or perform needed maintenance. Every member of staff has been exceptionally helpful and patient, answering and clarifying all our queries. We mainly deal with Charlie Rogers as she is our property manager and continually helps us and answers all my hundreds of questions, always very kind and helpful, as well as Melissa Langham and Sarah Hall that have helped us resolve maintenance situations and inventory. When we were looking for properties, Melissa Wilson was hugely accomodating to help us find a perfect apartment, and the gentleman that went to show us the properties was very pleasant, knowledgeable and eager to help. When we switched agencies mid-tenancy, Emily Beech went above and beyond to get us our deposit back, as the other agency was over-complicated and shady, which we truly appreciated as she went out of her way to assist us. All things considered, we have never had a problem with James Laurence; they have a really competent team that exceeds expectations regarding their service, from looking for a flat to maintenance, and have always been transparent and responded promptly, which is very important to us.
