GoogleI had a viewing with Antria and I just want to highlight how amazing she was. She was very professional, friendly and polite throughout the whole process. GoogleOne of the most unprofessional letting agents I’ve dealt with. We arranged a viewing after seeing a flat listed on Zoopla at an attractive price. The facilities looked great, but once we showed interest, they revealed the actual asking price was over 10% higher than advertised. Even after we pointed out the misleading listing over a week ago, it still hasn’t been corrected. Since then, I’ve noticed similar ads being posted at much lower prices than their supposed “real” asking price. It’s hard to tell whether this is intentional to generate leads of frustrated prospective customers or just more incompetence. When we explained the property was outside our budget, we were told to submit an offer online anyway, despite it being below the asking price. This led to confusing and misleading follow-ups, where initial communications made it seem like there was progress. Instead, we were met with a pushy sales call where it became obvious they hadn’t even read our submission properly. Ultimately, they told us they wouldn’t accept any offers below asking, making the entire process pointless. This was a complete waste of time that could have been avoided if they had simply advertised the correct price or been upfront from the start. After this experience, I wouldn’t work with this company again, even if their prices matched what was originally advertised.

GoogleRubbish agency. They’ll post properties with a purposely low monthly rent price for no reason whatsoever other than to waste peoples time. Then you call them, and they tell you that it’s a rent price reserved for ‘key workers’. Why not just state that already on Rightmove? Stop wasting people’s time.

GoogleWhat an absolute joke of a company. I was looking to rent with them. Made an enquiry stating dates and times that I can do. Then they decide a complete opposite to my availability, then they send me an email to "confirm my viewing" to which i already stated I couldn't attend as it was during my work hours. I offered alternative dates and times and instead of consulting with me, they just planned the same day just later when I already stated I am not available so, I repeated the previous step once more and messaged the realtor. A few hours later I get an offer letter when I have not even seen the property, what is this behaviour? I initially wanted to rent with them but based on the service... I can confirm that will not be happening. Pay attention to your customer and their notes. Otherwise, what is the point What shambolic customer service and behaviour.

GoogleA very bad experience with [home made ] They asked me to pay 6 months’ rent upfront, then another 6 months in month four, and I agreed only to avoid losing my holding deposit. I was completely transparent from the beginning, asked what documents were needed, and I provided payslips and a letter from my employer confirming my income. Despite this, they claimed they couldn’t verify my employment. At no point did they tell me Open Banking was an option. Had they done so, I would have clearly explained that my salary is paid in cash only. It feels like the entire process was just a way for them to keep the holding deposit, even though I gave them honest, verifiable information and met every unreasonable condition they asked for. Totally unprofessional, not transparent, and I would not recommend this agency to anyone. Stay away.

In this case, the documents provided were not sufficient to verify employment or income to the standard required, and we were therefore unable to proceed. We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances are different, and we make every effort to offer alternative options where possible. However, we are also required to ensure that applications meet referencing criteria set by both legal frameworks and landlords. Regarding the holding deposit, this is protected by the Tenant Fees Act 2019, and is only retained in accordance with its specific terms, which include situations where the applicant does not pass required referencing checks. GoogleStay away from this company. I used them for 4 years. They continuously failed to pass on issues raised by tenants which has now caused me money and even bigger issues. I made a payment to a supplier they recommended for a roof repair. Home Made failed to let me know the repair never solved the issue, despite the tenants reaching out to them shortly after. They never passed on the emails from the tenants to me, which means we missed the window for the suppliers to go back out to rectify. They have taken the route of silence instead of owning up to their mistake and apologising. I will ensure they are held accountable for their negligence.

GoogleBe careful with Home Made Agency! They rush you into signing with them and seem amazing at the beginning, but once they get your money, they completely disappear. It feels like they sell you a dream but forget about you when you actually need help. I tried reaching out with follow-up questions, but they almost never replied. Even worse, when I went to their supposed office in London, there was no office! Very sketchy and unprofessional. I personally would not recommend them, as there are many other agencies that are far more professional and will get the job done much better. GoogleTerrible company, avoid at all costs. Their tactic is to manipulate you during viewings by claiming all bills are included and insisting the flat will be gone within minutes, pressuring you to pay the holding deposit immediately. Once you’ve paid, they bombard you with emails from various individuals, all providing conflicting information. The person who gave you the initial details at the viewing will then ignore your calls and respond only via text, completely denying what they said, essentially making you feel like you imagined the entire conversation. This shady behavior was carried out by their agent, Rish, whose communication skills were subpar, to say the least. After that, they’ll disappear entirely. If you attempt to withdraw and reclaim your holding deposit so you can move on, they’ll send a smug and condescending individual to call you, introducing new, previously undisclosed terms. This individual will argue incessantly, trying to unnerve you, behaving as though the deposit is their personal entitlement. I am considering further action but honestly, the amount involved is too trivial to waste my energy on. Regardless, avoid this company at all costs. You can hide my reviews all you want, but I’ll continue to share my experience if it can save others from going through the same thing. What’s worse is how they handled the deposit. Instead of working with transparency, they weaponized information tenants wouldn’t have known beforehand to intimidate and hold on to the deposit unfairly. Such tactics are not only unethical but also demonstrate the disregard they have for their clients. Let me be clear: you may have taken my deposit, but that will not hinder my search for a better and more trustworthy agent. This experience only highlights how unethically you operate. With this attitude, it’s hard to imagine your business surviving in the long term. Tenants deserve better. Avoid them at all costs if you value honesty and professionalism.
