FacebookHave to say that I have been involved with many mortgages and house purchases over the years, but I cannot remember anyone so dedicated as Alex. So many issues with this purchase, but Alex remained dedicated to see it through, Keeping calm throughout the protracted purchase and Sale. This young man will go far!!

Hockeys Willingham, in particular Alex who we dealt with, were exceptional. Always gave me regular and accurate updates making the process as easy as possible. Socond time dealing with Hockeys, once as a FTB and then again to sell that property 4 years later. I don't plan on moving any time soon but when we do we wont use anyone else.

Jeremy and his team dealt with us in a professional manner and were always contactable during this process (even when things were stressful). We were very pleased with the price we obtained for both houses and felt the process from sale to completion was a success due to their hard work and commitment.

GoogleExcellent service! We sold and bought our houses with Hockeys and the process went very smoothly. Our agent, Joe Northcott, was extremely approachable and was always willing to go the extra mile. He was realistic when it came to the valuation on our house, unlike some other agents who speculated a sale price way above what we ultimately received. In summary, I would highly recommend Hockeys.

Jeremy gave us excellent advice from start to finish. He helped us understand the market for the area we were moving to, happily sharing all his local knowledge (which is extensive). He sold our house quickly and for the asking price. He did not compromise his morals, nor encourage us to, to gain a higher price and get more commission. He worked hard throughout the sale, being the main agent to move things forward in the chain. He communicated with us regularly and always phoned us back when we wanted a quick catch up on the chain. We can't recommend him, and Hockeys, highly enough.

GoogleWe first had contact with Hockeys in May 2015. We had seen a house in Cottenham that we wanted to view. At the time our house also in Cottenham was not on the market and we had not even thought about moving house. We arranged for Jeremy to come and value our house. It was a 1pm appointment by 3.30pm our house was on the market and 2 viewings had been booked for 5.30pm that same evening. Within 24 hours of meeting Jeremy we had our first offer. We were so pleased with the efficency of Jeremy and his team. We did buy that house that prompted us to get the valuation. We moved in October 2015 and could not be happier. Although it was a snap decision to view the house and put ours up for sale, it was the best snap decision we have ever made and Hockeys made it all possible. Houses in Cottenham seem to sell fast and we had not thought in our wildest dreams that we would be successful in buying our perfect home when ours wasn't even on the market. Just dropped into Hockeys office in Willingham and registered an interest in buying a bungalow. Without any pressure Hockeys had offered us a chance to have a new bungalow built to our requirements and sold our current house within eight days at the price we were asking. The total transaction was handled in a very professional manor and we would recommend any future buyers or sellers to give them a chance.

Kept in the dark and given false information whilst our buyer was being shown our neighbours property, which was also marketed by Hockeys of Willingham. This was over a 6 day period whilst two offers were being considered by them. Unfortunately they failed to inform us until their second offer was accepted and we had repeatedly contacted Hockeys to ask why a survey had not been done? Reassured and in good faith we spent considerable sums of money on surveys and searches on our purchase......... When asked why we were not informed- apparently it was difficult to tell us ........so they didn't!! It appears you cannot expect upfront honesty and trust with this agent........ very bad experience!

GoogleI can’t warn you off Hockeys strongly enough. They will screw over both the seller and the buyer so they can try to keep their dirty, grasping little hands on as much of their commission as they can. If you have to buy a house through these racketeers, you have my deepest condolences. Make sure that you contact the sellers directly and copy them in to any communications. This way, the Hockeys conmen haven’t got the power to play you off against the seller. And make sure that you have everything in writing so you have a paper trail when you need to report Hockeys to the Property Ombudsman. If you have to sell a house, Hockeys should be your absolute last choice. They will not act in your best interests. Initially try any of the online-based services (cut out these useless middlemen), and then use literally anyone else. If you’re thinking about Hockeys, it’s probably best not to sell your house at all.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to learn that you were not satisfied with the level of service received. I have spoken with the vendor of the property you purchased who conveyed to us that he was very happy with the level of service received from Hockeys, so I will make no further comment in that regard. I believe the main issue you encountered with your purchase, that you made no reference to in your review, was that we were unwilling to agree to a price reduction halfway through the sale due to some minor points raised on your survey. In addition you threatened to withdraw from the sale if the vendor did not agree to your proposed reduction in price by the full amount. As neither the vendor nor our company agreed with your view we were both willing to accept that you would withdraw your offer, which you did not do. Instead, rather than provide us with a counter offer to pass on to our client, you took it upon yourself to contact the vendor directly who reluctantly agreed to a substantially smaller price reduction than you had requested, purely to move on with the sale and show willing. We can only assume that you contacted the vendor directly as you were unhappy with the response given by our company on behalf of the vendor. Our client made us aware of your direct approach and the sale proceeded to an exchange of contracts. You felt it necessary to raise a complaint with our company and your complaint was not upheld for the above reason. One thing we do acknowledge, that you also do not make reference to in your review, is that you requested to be updated at regular intervals after the price re-negotiation, I agreed the updates given to you were intermittent and could have been better. In our complaint response letter you were given details of how your complaint could be escalated and referred to the property ombudsman, but you have chosen not to take the matter any further. In closing we are naturally disappointed that you were not happy with the service received and would like to thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. Jeremy Trott Director

GoogleLack of information provided is obvious; the way the choose the person to work with is known only to themselves, unfortunately. Possibly, this is the way to survive for 100 years, but it is nothing to do with the clear procedure. Test your luck if you want to waste your time.

GoogleWould definitely not recommend them. The flat I rented was listed as having mould in places, loose dirt in carpet, carpet stains, grease in areas of the kitchen and cobwebs in carious places (actually listed in the original inventory) and then when i moved out they wanted to charge me nearly £200 to have it all cleaned (if they actually did it)

GoogleWe received an outstanding level of service when buying and selling our property through Hockeys. They expertly guided us through every step of the process, and were an invaluable help in getting our sale through on time. From the start, we demanded big things from Hockeys, and they delivered beyond our expectations: We decided to sell our house the day before going on holiday, and we needed to sell quickly to secure our purchase of a new property. Hockeys produced an excellent set of particulars for our house while we were away (more detailed and better illustrated than any other estate agents we’ve seen) and had already sold the house for a great price before we got back to the UK! They always kept us up to date and provided friendly, personalised advice, making us feel very well cared for even while we were abroad. Throughout the buying and selling process, our solicitors and banks created delays and stress, but Hockeys’ cheerful and optimistic “can-do” attitude together with their professional handling of all parties involved helped to persuade everyone to get the sales through quickly. We felt that Hockeys was always working with us and always there to help. I would certainly recommend Hockeys estate agents for buying and selling properties in Cambridgeshire.

GoogleI have dealt with estate agents on many occasions in the past both in buying and selling property, but Hockeys have surpassed all my expectations in that they are the most friendly, efficient and professional agents I have come across in a very long time. They know their business inside out and at all times were courteous, informative, extremely helpful and gave us the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Their advice and experience of the market in Cambridge was invaluable to us and they responded very quickly to all our calls and emails. We felt they genuinely cared about our property move. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them regardless of whether you are selling or buying your home through them.

GoogleI sold my property through Hockeys but I also bought my new house from them too.They are very efficient and knowledgeable. Every time I called the people on the phone were very helpful and if my call was missed I was called back within an hour or so. They are easy to contact and they kept me up to date with every step of my sale. I cannot recommend them enough, having used many estate agents Hockeys are the best around!!
