Pay a little more elsewhere and AVOID this company

If I could give 0 I would! They are all happy go lucky and happy to help while still in process of getting your money including the sales team! Don’t be pulled in by the thought of full support for 2 years.Once you’re in your on your own they don’t care your house has an expiry date of 2 years because everything then goes wrong. If you like ‘luxury’ toilet roll don’t bother your drains can’t hack it and they will leave you over bank holiday without any help! If you want a damp free home then DEFINITELY go elsewhere.Customer support is something else it doesn’t exist. The builders use the roads as a racing track with the diggers no respect for people living in the houses. If you want decent and with no expiry go elsewhere!

I totally agree with what has been said…

I totally agree with what has been said here about the 'cowboys'. I have been dealing with them for the past 7 months. For some strange reason Gleeson think they are in 'business'. This is called 'scamming', not business. This is what you are, Gleeson, a bunch of scammers!

Mixed bag

If you are a person with an eye for detail then you will be disappointed in the little things that you notice once you’re in and living there. Our experience was we were rushed in the diary for a ‘Home Demonstration’ by the Sales Executive at Pinfold Estate Gleeson to be shown around a home with no front or rear turf, an exterior light missing, fence panels unpainted, one room carpet missing, no wardrobes built (I could go on…) then told to complete in a few days which we refused until seeing a complete house. We requested the 2 week complete period giving them chance to resolve unfinished and were made to feel belittled and that we were holding things up.On completion day turf was missing front and rear and other items not completed as promised, at this stage our frustration was to a point of just not wanting to deal with them any further. The sale appeared more important than the house being finished up to a liveable standard. You can imagine how nice it was to deal with a dog going outside to pee in mud then deal with the paw prints on new carpets! Turf was laid a week later then told we can’t walk on it for 6 weeks (excellent!) The process for the snagging list is to take a picture then upload it to the site and a trades person will be on it to complete the work. That bit is easy and in theory should work, if someone’s actually finishes what they turned up to do. It was mainly painting, cracked grouting, sorting out no hot water to the bath (which was switched off by a previous plumber not turning the restrictor dial) vinyl coming unstuck in the bathroom, fence panels split. All quick fixes but if the job was done right in the first place it wouldn’t require reporting. The home is lovely and we are very happy with the build but all the problems having to be resolved by poor quality of work is avoidable. Nothings straight! Door handles drilled badly, door frames banged and badly bodged with filler, bathroom tiles uneven - things you notice more when you get in, and unfortunately people re-doing other peoples poor work. Who is responsible for checking quality of work is what I’d like to know. Site Manager appeared understaffed (as the same in any other industry) but it affects things. He was very helpful and at the end of the phone for anything I needed so thank you to Tony. Tammy is now back on board as his Assistant Site Manager and is well on the ball following up everything :)Would I buy another house from Gleeson?! Yes I would, they offer a fair deal for the money we spent but you have to manage your expectations, peoples quality of work let it down and speaking to other residents they share the same opinion.A couple of days ago our Assistant Site Manager called me and all the items were addressed that I logged on the portal which is great, however, the list is growing from noticing things. We’ve now been in for around 3 weeks and our home is very nice and haven’t experienced the nightmares that others have reviewed on here.2 stars not given out of 5: 1 for the manner of the sales assistant, we didn’t gel with her.1 for quality of finishing as mentioned before.Builder: Gleeson Estate: Pinfold, Bridlington, East Yorkshire.

This is worst new build company

This is worst new build company i have ever heard of. I would not recommend a house from this company to a rat in the sewer. I can’t believe how badly I have been screwed over, I never thought this would happen to me and it has. If I could this 0 stars I would.

Gleeson homes awful aftercare

Completed on 02/12/21 beacon park plot 7 the same day sent email with massive list of defects some of them being damage to the premium kitchen we paid to upgrade. 11 months on and still not replaced the damaged kitchen parts. On 5 separate occasions gleeson have arranged to come and replace the damaged units worktops and cupboard fronts and each time we have been given excuses for the work not to be done. We have spoke to at least 5 different site managers numerous customer care staff and they all just feed you lies and excuses once they have your money they are not interested. If you are reading this debating whether to purchase off them then please save yourself the hassle. If you are already in the process of purchasing do not complete till all defects are repaired/replaced cos once your in you will be chasing and chasing. Some of the other defects where cracked floors, cracked Plastic on 4 windows, 1 window had to be completely replaced, wonky tiles, garden flooded when rained, leaking boiler, the list goes on basically faults with every trade lol 😆 awful!

My partner and I are currently going through the process of buying our first home with Gleeson and couldn't recommend it enough. Our sales representative Julie at Greencroft View, Stanley has been nothing but super helpful, kind and has provided us with plenty information to help with the process. We're both very pleased with the process so far and look forward for what's to come - thank you :)

Gleesons

We reserved the house in the middle of Jan this year. It was already stage 5 when we reserved and we were told completion would be May- July all the way up until exchanging contracts. After seeing next to no progress in the 3-4 months after reserving, they started pushing to exchanged contracts. I refused untilWe saw the plot in person. After constant questioning of why there was a lack of progress and not getting any real answers we were assured it was still on progress for may-July. Communication internally doesn’t seem great and you’re constantly being told “I’m in a meeting and I’ll bring it up” with nothing getting done. We exchanged contracts in the middle of may to where the solicitors let us know it was delayed. We didn’t hear anything through gleesons until after it was legally binding. The delay took us over our mortgage offer. We were lucky it was extended but with increasing interest rates, if we got a new offer, we were looking at £250 extra a month in interest. After getting the keys on the 30 of September The house itself We paid for optional extras which were all ok but we paid for an extra plug socket on the wall which was not fitted, instead a blanking plate was left there and still a month and a half after moving in, it still hasn’t been fit. We submitted the snagging list 2 days after we got the keys and only some of the brick work and a bit of filler in the wall in the bathroom has been done. The side window has been redone but could have been done better by the council using their feet.Plot 115 crown gardens

Ongoing burns

My oven has burnt both sides of my units, I was informed by Gleesons from two different higher sources they would be changed, this has been ongoing for many months, I contacted the oven company whom Gleeson bought this oven from and they came out put a new rubber on and the heat was escaping still, a new oven was put in to replace this by Gleeson but this is still burning my units, the company have been back to assess the oven again and I was told that the units did not have any protection against the heat, so I got back onto Gleesons and explained ,my reply I've never heard anything like this at all answer get back onto oven company, which I had already done so and waiting for a reply, in mean time Gleeson who purchased all this and I payed for have washed there hands of it, I am left with paying all phone calls all extra money that purchased these units and are burnt, I would recommend you stay well away from a Gleeson home ,your ripped off left with dodgy goods and they have no cares what so ever ,you even have no tarmac on your driveway or roads at front of house and we have been here nearly a year now and it's still thick of mud, best look elsewhere for your home.

Stay clear of gleeson homes!

Stay clear of gleeson homes, full of cowboys, probably picked the “builders” up from the job centre and told them to do their best, weeks old houses are damp and mouldy the company are damaging pre existing houses purely to make a profit and refuse to fix thousands of pounds worth of damage they have caused, avoid at all costs.

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company! Had issues with our water from within the 1st week of moving in and only rectified 5 months later. Couldn't have a wash Couldn't use the heating or even go to the toilet. All gleeson did as a company was blame severn trent when it turns out the main water pipe from meter to the house was blocked and full of dirt. Shame on you as a company as you left us with no water or heating with a toddler.. but it doesn't end there does it because you got us some water at some point by flushing the system and totally avoiding the route cause which meant we as a family was drinking dirty water and your contractors soaking the house or leaving parts out of a boiler (dangerous) ! The sand and grit coming into our house has ruined things and potentially health issues and all you can say is oh as a goodwill gesture we will pay your water bill 😀 what water bill we will hardly have one and a brand new house shouldn't need ripping apart to fix your shoddy work that was done in 1st place . In short do not buy a house from these if you don't want stress or purchasing a shoddy product as this could of all been avoided if they accepted responsibility in 1st place instead of me having to go around an back and forth eliminating everyone they blame

Dodge 2-year guarantee

They refused to fix a missing part of handrail:Quote”Thank you for raising notification of your defect regarding your banister, unfortunately this was not raised on your Final Inspection or Key Release document. Due to the length of the time, you have been in your property without reporting this defect it would be considered the responsibility of the homeowner as part of the general homeowner's maintenance. I apologise if you are unhappy with our company’s decision on this occasion“UnquoteSo the so-called 2 year guarantee is just a joke. What an earth most terrible after service by Gleeson Homes. Folks! Just avoid any new built house from this dodge developer.

Generally happy with the build

Generally happy with the build , however some issues . Been in the property nearly 2 years.1st - Radiator rusting in the En Suite - came back as general wear and tear. However after a quick google search , a radiator should last over 15 years. They normally rust due to paint work , or incorrectly fitted. They have declined to do anything with this.2nd - When we moved in the garden hadn't been rotavated , so the dog was i the garden , covered in mud , coming in to the house and ruining carpets etc. They stated they could rotavate due to the ground been hard. I find this very hard to believe as the whole point of rotaveting is to make the ground soft , from hard ground.3rd - Fascia fallen off the garage, reported this issue through my Gleeson , some one will be coming to fix and remedy , still waiting nearly 5 weeks.4th - we have a number for the site manager , and guess what he doesn't answer any calls , respond to any text messages about issues , we then have to call head office , they then contact the site , call you back saying will be sorted and never is. it just goes round and round in circles.

Had countless issues with my new build, this all could have been easily avoided if they didn't use cowboys who don't care, we've had about 4/5 site managers since I moved in and not 1 of them care about the quality of work. I've been waiting since April to get a defect done, they havnt installed my pipes correctly and I've been smelling raw sewage since I moved in, im in contact with the NHBC and independent dispute resolution service. The service has been awful

Dont Be Fooled

As anticipated really. Helpful throughout purchase stage, slow and difficult to get a proper response post sale. Completed 29/09 and still no key to the garage, only house with outdoor charging point not installed, internal snags not fixed, no access to my Gleeson app provided so I'm having to send emails to highlight issues. Site manager attends looks around says will get someone out nothing happens. paint is awful, whole house if showing paint defects, loose oven extractor fan, unassembled cupboard, not sure if set up with gas and electric yet as no updates, no water metre installed yet, drive too high so scrapes bottom of your car. Sent multiple emails with multiple points to be addressed, emails are sent back addressing only the 1st point or the main concern in the email, other parts not addressed. Mother is looking to purchase with northbeck grange soon, will be doing what I can to persuade her not to.Have spoken to several neighbours all say the same thing. Don't be sold by the customer service beforehand. If you want an honest review on what you are walking into, please knock-on doors and politely ask the people actually living in the properties.

Avoid the Moorland green site Chopwell…

Avoid the Moorland green site Chopwell at all costs! Staff are incompetent, lie constantly and fail to comply to the legislation and contract that they have with home owners. We moved in not long ago and it’s been utter hell, our garden like many others on site was left in a diabolical state which is costing us £8000 to rectify ourselves! A foot fall no homeowner should have to pay when they purchase a BRAND NEW home!!There is not an ounce of compassion or decency from any member of staff that we have dealt with. There was a Site manager that promised the earth then left which then meant there was no record of what he said he would do to our garden to try and make it SAFE! One of my children’s were hurt whilst out in what was deemed as a “safe garden” There was in fact roofing lats burrowed under the soil and my son gauged his leg open! The assistant site manager then called round and whilst I explained my concerns she picked up a ball of glass put it in my hand and said “you may want to put this in the bin!” Absolutely disgraceful!!When the Staff are challenged they constantly have excuses, say they will “get back to us” or “speak to the technicians” but NOTHING ever has an outcome!! The staff either leave all together or go on the sick!Builders come to rectify their mistakes and make matters a hell of a lot worse! Damaging both internal and external parts of my property!!!!! I have endless amounts of videos/ pictures / emails /text messages of the utter rubbish we have dealt with since moving in here! After speaking to many neighbours I don’t know of one person on this site that is happy with their homes / gardens that gleeson have provided. Again I believe this speaks for itself!Personally I wish I read a review like this prior to getting our home through gleeson because it would have urged us not to!Regardless of the fact that they are NHBC registered it means absolutely nothing! NHBC also fail to step in until 2 years after the sale of property - they said that gleeson have a duty / contract with homeowners so they just dismiss you! This is a continuous battle that we will have until we are fully compensated for the trauma and losses that we have faced! But for now I’ll just have to see what lies transpire from Gleeson next!I have never ever taken to a social platform before to discredit any company however if I can prevent one person from buying a home from them and having to be faced with the utter rubbish that we have, then I guess that in itself is a win!I am however looking forward to getting an outcome from the legal advice that I’ve recently sought about the negligence from Gleeson

Good lord I don't even know where to start...AVOID AT ALL COSTS

If I could give zero stars I would. How this company are still in business I don't know. If you are even considering buying with them, please don't. I know how you feel, they're much more affordable than others and you could be on the ladder sooner - I had these same thoughts - but there is a reason they are so cheap. If you don't believe me, carry on reading this page and go on Instagram and dig around for the comments on their posts that they haven't deleted yet. The quality of the builds are appalling, they can't keep to any sort of timeline so will delay completion again and again then rush to get finished at the last second and will hire literally anyone to build for them with the most dire results. The definition of cowboy builders. Sales reps and managers almost impossible to get in touch with and possess no empathy or interest. Just go onto a Gleeson development and do a bit of door knocking to find out, I wish I had listened. This company has zero integrity, horrendous customer service and they should be embarrassed of what they are doing to people who are shovelling over hundreds of thousands of pounds to them. They claim to be the builder for first time buyers - probably so they can use your naivity to totally screw you over because they certainly don't care one bit.I would never buy a Gleeson home second hand either now I'm familiar with the quality of their work. If you're on the fence, think about how this awful company will impact the resale value of your property were you to buy from them. They're definitely due a media scandal if they keep on treating people the way they are and producing very low quality properties.

Do not buy from Gleeson

Do not buy from Gleeson, absolutely atrocious customer service, that never knows anything, has one response to any question: 'I am not sure/not aware'.MyGleeson is useless to report (numerous serious issues, if only it was only snagging problems...) faults, open cases just hang there waiting for resolution. Either that, or you will get an earful about their 3rd party contractors/suppliers (surprise, that Gleeson chose themselves to work with).Currently doing research for a solicitor, as it clearly seems Gleeson is only interested to chase you for the £££, not really caring what happens next.Ah, moreover: we somehow got paperwork for a boiler that belongs to some other plot, we do not know at the moment who has the warranty paperwork for ours, shows exactly the amount of attention to detail around there.

3 months of misery so far.

Lived in our House now for 3 months and I’ve just had enough. Nothing but issues with the build of the house delays after delays almost making us homeless with nothing we could do and not even a sincere apology. We manager to get past this when we moved in as finally we was settled. Obviously snagging is expected on a new build everyone knows that…well would be great if things actually get resolved! They send a so called site manager round to belittle you and tell you everything is fine and they will get it sorted asap. Well 3 months on still waiting on stuff getting sorted! When they do come round things get left half done and we have to chase up numerous times to the sales team and on the ridiculous portal they have. Currently sat with half our door frame missing as the door is way to small for the brick work and they filled it in with rubber silicone (1-2 inches thick) thinking this was acceptable. Yeah we have had someone out beginning of this week to look into it and add some packers and filling in because the full door frame just moved about 3 mil everytime you open it, told us they’d be back today to fill it all back up but no just left now for the weekend with huge gap at the side of our front door - this has pushed me over the edge now meaning for this review. We moved in and the oven was faulty, we didn’t have an oven for 3 weeks was told we had to purchase our own and get it installed after they replaced that one and it was faulty two due to the fascia and dials getting to hot to touch and was dangerous. They refunded us it which was fair enough but not the point (this is the most proactive thing they actually did for us).3 months in and we’ve had a leak from the bathroom into the kitchen staining the ceiling and wall and plumber left a huge uneven hole in the bathroom floor and no one has been out to make it right again only sorted the leak.We have Just had numerous issues since moving in and nothing but empty promises from Gleesons - be prepared to have to constantly chase for work to be done to be told it’s getting chased up every time and no actions. Sales team, site/build manager and even head office saying they will chase stuff and nothing happens or when it does it’s a bodge job or half completed!!We was offered a gesture of good will by the site manager within the first month of moving in to put paving down in our garden due to the issue…2 months on still nothing and we’ve chased it Id say more then 10 times now and still just get ignored. I just want to be able to sort my garden out so my son has somewhere to play. But I Don’t imagine that’s getting completed anytime soon that’s if they ever do make the effort to stick to their words! Our neighbours are all fed up with the issues and poor standards of work and we’ve even discussed between us taking it to the local papers to let more people know how bad this company is if it carries on. I wouldn’t recommend it - we thought it was idea for the price for a young family starting out but it’s caused nothing but stress and anger. I wrote this not hoping it will make a difference to gleesons to get their fingers out but in hopes people would read it and not make the same mistake we did. Save your money and look else where. I hope Gleesons can prove themselves as I know we are only 3 months in but I highly doubt it going off the experience we have had so far.

Please DO NOT BUY!!!!!

As a first time buy I was really excited to be buying a new build. I reserve the Gleeson home and making my choices was easy and very exciting. My troubles started with GM Wilson that Gleeson had recommended to me and spiralled from there. Gleeson have now pulled out of the sale of my house. They are trying to blame it on me for not meeting deadline but the deadline was not met because of both companies.Between them they have not answer emails, phone calls and questions when asked. They have lost documents on numerous occasions. At one point I had to head back down to the sales office to refill in my paper work as it had been misplaced. And then they out right lied to me time and time again. All of this resulting in months of delays. I think the final thing was when my mortgage advisor received a call from Gleeson asking for an update. (Not myself that they should be contacting) When my mortgage advisor explained to her that we was waiting on a response from Gleeson that we had been waiting weeks for. (None of our emails where getting answered by Gleeson and GM Wilson and when we called got told that someone would call us back but that never happened). The Gleeson person then proceeded to scream at my mortgage advisor on the phone, this is not acceptable! I can’t stress enough how disappointed I am with the service provided by these two companies. I am spending a lot of money and this is not the way I should be treated. Both GM Wilson and Gleeson are constantly saying contradicting things. I have been messed around, lied too, spoken too like dirt and now I am out of pocket. Gleeson have pull out of the sale of the house but are now refusing to refund me my reservation fee and the deposit for the extras that I have paid for the house. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY A HOUSE FROM GLEESON.

YOU WILL NEVER ENJOY YOUR HOME IF YOU BUY FROM GLEESON HILL TOP PARK

If your looking for a house save a little bit longer & buy off a proper builder. This company have been a nightmare from day 1! Sold us the wrong house to floor plans which we didn’t realise until day before completion when they finally let us inside, we didn’t notice because we wasn’t updated weekly like they say they will. The floors are a mess uneven & bumpy, promises to be screeded twice never done. Assistant site manager rude & lies. Sales department rude & unhelpful. Customer care ignore you all the time. Walls uneven & bumpy. Ceiling uneven and bumpy. Doors not even sealed to the walls! Dog muck in your front garden but yet not aloud to put a fence round your own land!! They don’t even connect your heating correctly! Upstairs thermostat controls downstairs & vies versa. They promise you the world and let you down every single time, you speak to ‘the head of sales’ nice at first then just ignore you. You speak to head office, no help. Do not waste your time or money on these shocking houses.
