I have been to the green where I booked an appointment and Mary could see us straight away which was great, she was extremely helpful and understanding. We were still unsure due to personal commitment's but months later we got a call from her speaking about shared ownership plots at her new development. TrustpilotThink very long and hard before buying
I posted a review before, and took it down at Gleeson’s request as they agreed to look into my insulation. That was three months ago and so far all they have done is drilled two sets of holes in my walls and taken a brick out to tell me there’s insulation there… we knew that. The problem is that the house is cold when the outside is near or below zero, and the boiler is up full all day. It’s 21 degrees at the thermostat and 17 on the sofa 10 feet away. The walls are cold and it’s minus 1 inside the back door. They have procrastinated now until the weather is improving, ignored thermal camera images, and refused to change trickle vents that - even when closed - let a howling gale blow through the house. They patronise me with banal ‘customer service’ excuses as if I’ve never owned or lived in a house before - meanwhile my gas bill is far higher than my previous badly insulated 1930s house. Add to this, the leaks, the cracks, the lack of drainage in the back garden that took months to fix, and the general poor fit and finish, and I can’t recommend them less I’m afraid. I can’t get a final response so I can’t escalate to the NHBC, either.

She was friendly, informative and happy to answer all our questions. She regularly kept in touch to give us updates during the buying process and we went from reserving to being home owners in 8 weeks (meaning we were able to spend Christmas in our new home). We moved into our home in 2022- We had a couple of snags but nothing major and overall we were happy with the build, all of the issues were fixed when the builders etc were still on site and our site manager was great. Since then its impossible to get a response from anyone. Our driveway remains unfinished, this was supposed to be topped and all of the broken and rotten wood replaced. We were told they would be back after Christmas but we cannot get a response from anyone on a date when they are coming. We have sent emails and called head office but nothing. Quite a few of the houses on our site were later sold to rental companies who now rent them out, even though we were told during purchasing that all houses would be owner occupied. This is not so much an issue but what is, its that all of the rented houses are finished, all driveways looking lovely yet here we are 17 months later and still waiting. Our road is left unfinished with lots of old bricks left at the entrance to the estate leaving it looking very scruffy upon approach. Also, our plot is at the beginning of the estate, we have been offered absolutely no boundary to the green space leading down the side of our house (which has been left very muddy and boggy and again looking a complete mess) not the image we were provided with and told it would look like. We have people walking across our front garden and dogs fouling on it most days meaning we are going to have to supply our own boundary to protect our property. We are plot 46 on Willows park if anyone from Gleesons reads this and wants to get in touch. We have emailed and called but you do not respond. Three stars is for the actual property which we like, not the mess at the side of our house, lack of boundary or the fact our driveway has been left with no response on when we can expect our home to be completed.

Today we completed on our new home at the Vickers Grange development. We chose the Longford, which is the 4 bed detached and we thrilled that it’s now ours. Throughout the whole process we have had weekly updates from Karen as we watched our house rise out of the ground. We chose Gleeson for their value for money and the build quality. We are pleased we did. Karen, the sales executive, and Stuart, the site manager gave us a smooth handover and peace of mind that is sometimes needed with a new build!

We purchased a house with Gleesons and Mary George was our sales executive throughout our time reserving and when raising any issues following our completion. Mary was fantastic and she made the experience of buying a house less stressful. Anyone who has had Mary or has Mary in the future is very lucky.Although, we have had some snags with our home, Chris who was the assistant site manage initially and then Rich who was the assistant site manager after were very good to rectify any issues. Both Chris and Rich are now on different sites. My only negative with Gleesons is we have an ongoing issue with our en-suite which has not been rectified to date and this does not appear to be a priority at this time for the current site team as there is still building on our site.

Buying a new home should be a lovely and exciting time, I should be loving my new home but instead I'm angry, upset and stressed out with it. Wishing I'd not bought itAfter paying over two hundred thousand pounds for it, just to have it built by cowboy builders. There's no pride in what they do ( pictures back that up) Customer Care (DON'T CARES ) after they have your money.:Brick work outside uneven front & back.:Door frame not straight in living room leading under stairs.:Radiator not central under window in kitchen.: Cracked tile in en-suite shower.:Boxing in back of all three toilets badly done.:Plaster on stairs bumpy not smooth.:All 3 toilet leak water into the pan, no good when you have no choice but to be on a water meter.I could go on and on.38 defaults and the cracks have starting to appear all over really bad.If anyone comes round it takes three attempts to put right, just had enough from gleesons now.So gleesons are proud in what they build 😒Well if that's being proud then shame on you all, you've wrecked my happiness how many more are you going to wreck.
