Avoid This Agency, Dishonest, Unfair, and Exploitative If you’re considering renting through this agency, think twice. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare, filled with dishonesty, unfair treatment, and a complete lack of professionalism. 1. Eviction Based on Lies & Zero Communication After three years as a tenant, paying my rent six months in advance (despite having a guarantor), and never having a single complaint against me, this agency served me an eviction notice out of nowhere. Their reasoning? They told me the landlord wanted to sell the property. However, I later found out that this was a complete lie. While searching for a new apartment (because I was given no choice but to leave), I accidentally discovered that my old flat was back on the market for rent, not for sale. When I confronted Charlotte Edney, the property manager who handled my tenancy, about why I wasn’t informed or even given the chance to renew, her cold response was: “The landlord informed me that he wants a new tenant and more money. It has nothing to do with me.” This agency clearly does not care about its tenants, only about maximizing profits, even if it means lying and misleading people who have been reliable tenants for years. 2. Fraudulent & Unjustified Charges After forcing me out under false pretenses, Charlotte Edney is now trying to financially exploit me with a completely unjustified checkout bill of £3248, even though my deposit was £2400. Among the most ridiculous charges? ✔ £25 per item left behind (including a small bin and a drying rack), items that could have been removed in five minutes by one person (one hand). ✔ A fake unpaid rent charge, Charlotte is trying to falsely claim that I owe an extra week of rent because of how she handled the notice period, even though my tenancy ended naturally, and I was never required to give any additional notice. ✔ Completely incorrect claims like Mould maintenance - They are also trying to charge me for moulds marks in bathroom and kitchen which is landlord’s responsibility. This is not just bad management, it’s an intentional attempt to extort money from tenants who have done nothing wrong. There are plenty of other agencies that treat tenants with respect so do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs.

We had a property for sale and it took a long time for our Easter agent to find buyers, when we were walking around the area , we have found the Gorton jones estate agency. They have management to find buyers and complete the transaction in a short period of time. Especially thanks to Paul Cook, the communications with Paul was very easy , things were followed step by step , and the sale completed really fast. Garton Jones have looked after me and my flat since 2005. They have been excellent in all of that time in their dealings with me. Always straightforward open and transparent and very helpful. Always courteus and professional. Frankly I cannot thank Chris enough for all the amazing and hard work he had to do recently, and Charlotte Edney, professional, kind, diligent would go the extra mile always. You guys are the best. Will recommend them with no hesitation at all.

Unfortunately for Chelsea Bridge Wharf residents, Garton-Jones estate agents appear to imagine themselves as the Lords of the Manor and residents are viewed as an inconvenient nuisance. Mr Garton-Jones opposed Right to Manage and hence 2 years were wasted. Garton-Jones Finally and reluctantly supporting it now but (according to CBWRA treasurer) only on condition that no other estate agent is allowed to advertise on the CBW app. Mr Chris Garston, at the invitation of CBWRA (Larissa and Louis), interfered in the 2023 Chair elections by asking all the owners on his list to vote for garton-jones supporting candidates (Larisa and Louis), while voting was live and sending them a voting link. Mr Garston declines to comment on whether he also did this in the 2021 elections. So many residents at CBW have terrible experiences with Garton-Jones as detailed to me personally and on the CBW app. So it's mysterious how they manage to get high ratings here. Same with Rendall and Rittner I guess - they spend time 'managing' their TP profile. Garton-Jones need to get back in their box IMHO and stop interfering with local democracy. Their 'input' has been harmful over a long period in my view.

Im really disappointed and regret of renting flat from GJ they delivered an studio flat to me with absolutely rubbish damage furnitures, bed broken vase broken bathroom issues according to their employee too… I had no carpet and pillow in this flat and it wasn’t clean and took photos from first day ,But they sent me long list of furniture which the flat didn’t have and didn’t receive them but they want to take my deposit…. I will do case court for it I never ever rent flat from Garton jones again

Please Don’t rent flat 15 Oswald building from GJ because The owner of this flat is a thief, he deliberately left a broken bed with and awful tables to charge the tenant, and the toilet of this studio has a problem that needs to be completely changed, but the owner of the house deliberately does not repair it to charge the tenant,and took the deposit, please Don’t rent flat from GJ they are not professional team they are so annoying they do care only for getting money they don’t respect people who rent flat from them Their service is so poor.

Be aware, stay away from letting an apartment 42, Altissima House with GJ. The Landlord is not an honest person, during my tenancy at this property he never fixed the issues we reported to be fixed before or after and among many others problems. Don’t fall for this trap. I'm not speaking for myself and I believe other tenants will relate to this issue and never got their deposits back. Unless someone takes the step of taking them to court! Someone needs to stop them!

GoogleHaving recently moved into an apartment being managed by G&J agents, I must say the customer service, due diligence and care for their clients is second to none. The process was quick, efficient, and dealt with in an incredibly professional manner - we viewed a plethora of properties the two weeks leading up to finding Paul and the bar he set, superseded the other agents we had viewed with 10 fold. Special thanks to Paul Cook who took us under his wing, made sure we found the right place and communicated endlessly through the referencing process. Furthermore, also special thanks to Amandeep who is a rock star when it comes to resolving issues post move-in. All the niggly bits that were highlighted were fixed with efficiency and speed. I will with no hesitation be using them for future rental and sales purchases. Thanks again Paul & Amandeep - dream team!
