If your looking to rent your flat then I would highly recommend giving Stonehouse lettings a call. We were with another letting agent when stonehouse took over and to be honest I was a bit worried because we'd always had a fantastic service especially from our property manager Jackie Stewart but I had nothing to worry about. The service I get now is just as good if not better and Jackie is still our property manager.

I rented for about a year in West-End Aberdeen with them. Absolutely great support for them, specially during the pandemic and any other problems in the apt. They went as far as sending Amazon packages that had been delivered to my old address after I moved to my new one. Thank you Ian. Thank you Stonehouse. A+, definitely recommend them.

A case study in how not to run a customer facing business. As someone who has worked in customer service for 15 years Stonehouse is a lesson in how not to provide customer service. The lack of communication, lack of pride and lack genuine care I experienced in my dealings with Stonehouse I found unbelievable. It took them three months to fix a window in the property that was letting in the wind and rain. This was in a property that had no central heating during winter. The fact that the check-in inventory didn't notice this problem along with the resultant damp it caused I found hard to understand. Such incompetence shouldn't happen in a large professional company such as Stonehouse. However the real problems happened when I decided to move out. Even allowing for the difficulties of covid the communication was astoundingly poor. This meant my move into my new property was delayed as they wouldn't even respond to my request for a reference. When they did they charged me £30 for sending a standard one page email reference to my new letting agency. The lawfulness of this (given the Letting fees Scotland act 2012) along with the morality of this charge I find hard to justify. The unapologetic way they expected me to pay what amounted to a ransom ( I needed the reference to be able to move) really stunned me. It's such a short sighted way of running a business and for the sake of £30 they simply insured I would never use them again in the future and will insure no one I know will either. They don't seem to understand such a basic thing as their reputation is the key to remaining viable as a business. It characterises the real lack of basic empathy towards their customers I have experienced in my time dealing with Stonehouse. To add further insult they tried to keep a large chunk of my deposit for cleaning and the replacing of a light bulb. This despite their own check out inventory saying I had cleaned the place to a professional standard. It was over three months after having vacated that I received any notification about my deposit despite having chased them for it repeatedly. Then after another month of having argued my case with Letting Protection Scotland I finally got the remainder of my full deposit back. All these problems I asked to be escalated further up to rectify such a gross failure to provide even the most rudimentary level of customer service. But unsurprisingly I received no response or follow up. It seems not one person I dealt with asked the basic question; "would I myself find it reasonable to be treated this way if I was the customer." Such a simple question would go such a long way in rectify many of the issues I experienced. Looking at the other reviews it's unfortunate that my case is not an isolated incident. If the company I worked for offered such shocking service I struggle to see how we could remain in business especially in the competitive market Stonehouse find themselves in. As a customer service professional the whole situation has left me flabbergasted. I sincerely hope for all those whose lively hoods depend on Stonehouse things change as clearly something is very wrong with this company. I have given them two stars as I feel certain allowances have to be made in these challenging times we all find ourselves. Until something changes I would urge you all to look elsewhere if you are in the market for a letting agent. There are many more deserving of your custom than Stonehouse.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

I have been letting with Stonehouse for almost 2 years and they have always been extremely professional and helpful with kind staff and good property managers. Sometimes response times can be slow at busier times, but this is expected. They were especially helpful and friendly when I tried to help my flatmate and friend secure her flat when she had no way of contacting by phone. I had a very nice experience renting with Stonehouse. I knew Gill and Maureen which were great, very kind, proactive and helped me a lot for finding the right flat. The process was super fast and something remarkable is that, unlike other agencies in Aberdeen (and particular landlords that I treated with), in Stonehouse I was rightly advised about my rights as a tenant in Scotland, thing that gave me trust andhelped me to analyze better all the alternatives, to finally rent with them and the underlying particular landlord in my case, with which I am also very satisfied.Then, this was my particular experience and I would happily rent with them again.Thank you Gill for everything!
