Avoid at all costs unless you want to lose your deposit. Wish we had read reviews and reconsidered. Heavily pressure you to take out their “professional cleaning services” and take your deposit if you dont. Flat wasnt even clean when we entered, locks didnt work, door handles broken leaking radiator and washing machine nearly caught fire!

I honestly have no idea how DJ Alexander are as a letting agent, as every single one of the 20+ properties that we've expressed interest in and had a viewing booked in for has been cancelled. I understand that it's a very busy market right now but one would assume that everyone who is booked in for a viewing would at least get that chance. Never mind, plenty of other letting agents who don't treat with you with this level of disrespect.

The most redundant flat viewing service ive ever came across. People have lives and work. I dont have hours on end to keep asking for flat viewings. Try and phone and you wont even book me in when I'm available. So you can milk people for overpriced flats but it's not cost effective for you to take the time to show me it. Awful attitude.

Entire booking process is too slow. I was a reliable applicant who should have been fastracked. Why am I only receiving viewing opportunities weeks after the application? I found a property with an agency that got in touch with me right away, the way Rightmove listings should work. I urge you to rethink this obstacle.

Very poor communication. No one ever takes accountability, it's always someones else's problem. I had nearly 2 months without hot water during one of the coldest periods of the decade until they managed to get someone sent out to fix my boiler. Once it was fixed, they never addressed any of the additional issues I had raised. Didn't make me feel like a valued tenant.

I was meant to be viewing a flat at 2 o'clock but received a text just after 1 saying they didnt actually have keys for the property & then on the second viewing they arrived 20 minutes late with no prior warning & I was on my break from work so was late getting back. Needless to say I never pursued the flat.

When Speris Gumley sold to them, after a long time of renting with them, all the problems started. Staff is unhelpful and doesn't seem to communicate with each other so that you're often talking to several people about the same issue that don't know what you've communicated with the other, The tone is so much more unfriendly, even in their general communication.

Iv never met such unhelpful absolute rude people ever!!! Stay away from this bogus "estate agents". After spending nearly £300 for a flight from London to come view a property which was booked with them. They cancelled the viewing with a simple text last minute. They didn't have the decency to call me and atlest explain or help me find a alternative. But I'm glad it didn't work out they can stick their viewings and their apartments!!! The bad reviews speak for them selves! Bunch of A**H****!!!!!!!!

Please note: this review is completely accurate and true and instead of being exaggerated has instead been ‘dumbed down’ due to the lack of energy and effort I can put into listing all the failings of DJ Alexander. This all started at the start of August, 2 weeks prior to existing tenants leaving and is ongoing. I do not understand how this company can function as a business. They recently took over managing my rental property through the acquisition of Fineholm letting and I have had nothing but issues. Basically no communication from the company at all. They didn’t even advertise my property when existing tenants left. They were unable to tell my why they had missed this. They forgot to pay me my rental income. They forgot to email close out details when my tenants left . They have repeatedly told me someone would get back to me but no one does. Even the staff on the phone admit their system isn’t the best. If there were not financial implications in all this it would be comical. I have repeatedly asked for them to return my keys. Even the simplest things such as they told me it was impossible tenant left and took the bedding as they don’t supply any. Even though I informed them when I rented out the property initially through Fineholm I had included bedding. They still denied it was possible. I am at my wits end with this company. All I get told is ‘I appreciate your frustration and I will get someone to call you back straight away’. I have honestly never experienced anything like it in my life. And I am the landlord who owns the property that they make their money through. What on earth must it be to be a tenant in one of their properties! It truly beggars belief! Update…. More daily phone calls from me chasing things up. Every time explaining the whole situation again. Every time being told it will be taken to the highest level and is being investigated and treated with the upmost urgency. Every day I go through the whole process again. I would wash my hands of them if they did not hold all the keys to my property and owe me money. Do not sign up with this company if you expect any level of basic service or communication or professionalism from a letting agent. I will continue to update as this goes on… I may start even naming individuals within the company who have excelled in their incompetence.

I was with another agency ( Speirs Gumley)for over 6 years until about 3 months ago my old agent moved me to DJ Alexander. Any problem I had in my house for the six years I was with another agent the owner was responding the same day or the day after. I had problem with boiler for the last 2 months every time I call I have to wait on line for an hour to get someone to answer. I had to call for emergency mid of December at 11:30pm when the weather was freezing cold because the boiler stopped working I travel to Australia during Christmas time and I called the agency several times and email them before I left to arrange someone to come to fix the boiler as soon as I come back which it was the 4th of January When I come back nothing happened house was freezing cold no hot water and the agency replied that the owner didn’t response which is surprising I called the same day I arrived many times and no one replied to me until the end of the day I called them and I was telling them that I’m not going to pay the rent for this month as the house wasn’t suitable to leave in I had to call my friend to come to get the water working for me and because of the cold weather and the cold water I used I had to go for emergency and I had chest infection 2 days after they reply and arrange someone to come and fix it a week of my arrival They do terrible service people are unprofessional to deal with situations and they put everything on the owner of the property which is not true Avoid this agency and I wish my landlord read my review because I am sure he is a great person as I was at the same property since 2016
