DJ Alexander have been wildly incompetent throughout our tenancy. Upon check out the dispute re our deposit has been laughable. They were looking to charge us for cleaning despite the fact that the property was disgusting when we moved in and we notified them at the time that unless they got it cleaned, we wouldn’t be cleaning it to a professional standard upon leaving. We evidenced this in our dispute but no one paid attention and I had to send the evidence three times. They also tried to charge us for shampooing a carpet that was rated the lowest rating on the inventory when we moved in and was very badly stained before we were even tenants (these charges magically disappeared upon challenging. They even tried to charge us £5 for a lightbulb that we evidenced the previous agent advising us that it could not be changed due to its location! They are absolute rip off merchants. Weeks between responses, never following up etc. We moved out on 26th October and on 13th December we are still no further forward. Honestly if you can avoid them then seriously do!

Beware!!!!!!!! Avoid this company at all costs and DO NOT allow them to manage anything to do with your property! They are incompetent, and are actively withholding rental income from me. I have made multiple attempts to request release of these funds and they are now ignoring me. 1 star (minimum allowable), does not provide true justification of just how terrible this service has been.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We’ve had a leak in our flat since September 2022 and there has been no internal repairs done. We have had 3 property managers now within a year as everyone just seems to leave. Very rude staff on the phone, particularly Samantha. Would not recommend anyone to rent a flat with this letting agency.

I have had a few viewings in Edinburgh with the excellent Property Manager Paul Hyett-Czompo and he has been extremely polite, professional and very knowledgeable. Although I have not found the right property for me, Paul has been really helpful in proposing other properties and booking me in for viewings. Always replies to my messages very promptly and is a real pleasure to deal with. Couldn't recommend him highly enough and is a top agent.

Absolutely shocking company! Rented an apartment which I left absolutely spotless and in good order the flat had multiple scuffs and chips all over the walls in multiple locations when i moved in, now I spent 5 hours cleaning, dusting and hovering the flat with other people to what most people would say is as good a job as anyone could do. They then held my deposit until 04/10/23 when I moved out on 27/07/23 and on the final day having had no correspondence from them not once about anything apart from when they tried accusing me of not returning the keys and asking 4 days after my tenancy had ended if I'd moved out yet (i moved out the day before the agreement ended) so I had to send a video which I had already took of me posting the keys in their letterbox. Anyway they have claimed 265 pounds of the 300 deposit 65 of chips and scuffs that were already there and a £200 cleaning fee!!! I have multiple witnesses and a video of the flat in a spotless condition the day I left that will be sent to the Lettings protection service as they're a bunch of crooks trying to steal people's hard earned money. The whole time i was there they never got anything i asked done the boiler still leaked and the repairs that were agreed before i moved in never got done either. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS SCUM I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AT ALL GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THEM OR MY EXPERIENCE OF DEALING WITH THEM!!! Update 27/10/23 - HA HA Stonehouse the LPS are fully repaying my deposit so your scummy hands aren't getting to steal my money!!! I wonder how many people you unfortunately did steal from though...I would strong advise anyone that's thinking about renting through these jokers to AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. We had the worst experience with Stonehouse. We lived in mould for months with no help. We even had to get environmental health involved. Clothes and furniture were ruined. Stonehouse ignored emails and offered no solutions. We had no light in the bathroom for about a month. Microwave and hob broken and not fixed. At the end of the tenancy they wait until the last day of the deadline to refuse to give you back the deposit. We are being charged for ‘cleaning’ charges and for a door that was already broken when we moved in. DO NOT rent with stonehouse unless you want to live in squalor. They have no care for their tenants health or safety.
