Poor quality build and customer service don't want to know. The 10 year guarantee is worthless as Marley Risk, who deal with any issues after two years, don't do anything and consistently get one star reviews.

Firstly, I don’t usually do reviews but I felt this was deserved. We had a great experience with Cussins, and a huge part of that was down to Carol. She was always available whenever my partner and I needed anything and consistently kept us updated throughout the whole process. Carol chased the chain from start to finish and, even when others weren’t doing what they should have been, she was straight on it. She always knew exactly where things stood and made the whole process much easier and less stressful. Extremely helpful, professional and reliable. We’d definitely recommend Carol and Cussins!

GooglePlease do NOT buy a house with Cussins. Caroline is a lovely woman and genuinely the best part of the experience. We’ve been in our home for nearly 2 years. When we first moved in there was a leak in the kitchen on the first night, as the drain pipe was kinked from the washing machine, which was not fixed which caused the kitchen floor to flood however I will say Cussins did compensate us with a fitted mirror as a gesture. There was also a leak on the middle floor bathroom the first week from the toilet which caused the middle bedroom flooring to flood and require repairs. The kitchen sink has never been fitted properly and we’ve had water leaking underneath. We’ve been trying to mend this for a year now with Cussins. Cussins firstly arranged it through a company that had went bust. So nothing was achieved which took months. They then arranged for the sink to be fitted with another agency. Cussins said they had ordered the sink to the site. The sink fitter showed up within the allocated time for the job. The sink fitter raised concern the site had been allowed to go early as no one was present on site. He could not find the sink as no one on site. The sink fitter rang customer care and they blamed the sink fitter for not being there for 9am, however it was between 12 and 4pm it was booked in for and this is what we were told, so he was on time. As there was no sink, and no one on site, nothing could be done on this day. We were then told the sink will be dropped off to our home and they will arrange for it to be fitted by the external agency again. All of these dates & times myself and my partner are taking time off work to be in the house as we do not work from home. Another sink was ordered, why would this be needed if there was one on site? The sink was dropped off one day and the guy showed up to fix it as agreed couple of days later. He then shares the sink is too small. So the sink could not be fitted again. It’s such minor conveniences which then begin to build up and build up. When we ring customer care I don’t have a satisfied feeling they actually know what they are doing and it does not feel authentic. We are so disappointed in the care afforded to us overall, we paid a lot for this house and expect better.

We recently purchased a Lily 2 house on the Summerson Place development in Darlington. We received great customer care from both Carol and Caroline throughout the process. These houses are of a very good build quality. We experienced very minimal snags that were all sorted in a timely manner by site manager Keith and Alan. Would highly recommend!

Zoe has been fantastic at guiding and supporting me through the process of buying my own home. She is very friendly and has offered me the best advice throughout the whole experience. She is on hand to answer any questions I had and would provide quick responses. Andrew has been my site manager and has also been very supportive and friendly. I feel both Zoe and Andrew have gone beyond expectations and have provided the absolute best service. All the people working on site are friendly and I have had no issues. I highly recommend.

We have just purchased a house at Debdon Falls, Rothbury and we are delighted with it. Wendy in the sales office made the process very smooth with her expert knowledge and friendly, professional manner. She ensured that our completion went ahead on time without any issues despite us using Scottish and English solicitors! We have been very impressed with the build quality and the Site Manager Chris and Deputy Simon have been approachable and helpful with minor snagging.

We have just moved in to our new Cussins home and the process has been very smooth, largely down to the great customer service provided by Wendy. From our first viewing many months ago Wendy has always been helpful and responsive to our many questions. Taking great care to ensure we had enough time to make our upgrade selections and opportunities to walk the plot before signing on the dotted line. As we lived over eight hours away, Wendy has also been keeping us up-to-date via photos and messages, she is a great asset to Cussins.

It is well known that Cussins build good houses but what has made our experience special was Lauren. She is so warm and welcoming and goes above and beyond what is expected. I have seen a few Show Homes in my time but I have never met anyone like Lauren. She is amazing and a real asset to Cussins. Lauren talked us through the drawings for the house and was very good at explaining all the different ones.

I recently visited the Cussins development at Eccleston Park in Backworth and instantly fell in love with The Rosemary. The property has a beautiful, timeless style that really stood out to me and felt like somewhere I could truly call home. A huge part of my positive experience was thanks to Lauren. She is an exceptional salesperson and an absolute credit to Cussins. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel completely comfortable and welcome. Lauren has a warm, approachable manner and took the time to understand what I was looking for without ever being pushy or applying any pressure. Her knowledge of the development and the properties was outstanding. She answered every question confidently and thoroughly, providing helpful information while allowing me the space to make my own decisions. Lauren struck the perfect balance between being attentive and respectful, which made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. Fast forward a few weeks and I’ve reserved my new home with my house under offer!

We’re getting genuinely excited about our new Cussins home, and if it oozes the same quality as the Eccleston Park show home, we’re in for a real treat. From day one, the Cussins experience has stood out. The homes speak for themselves, but the people behind them make the journey even better. Lauren has been a brilliant representative of the company: knowledgeable, patient, well‑organised and genuinely enthusiastic. She’s made the whole process feel smooth, clear and enjoyable. Before choosing Cussins, we’d visited a few other new‑build developers, and the sales approach elsewhere honestly put us off buying altogether. The contrast with Cussins has been night and day, professional, welcoming, and refreshingly honest. Our choices appointment was long with a lot of decisions to make, but nothing was too much trouble. Everything was explained clearly, guidance was offered without any pressure, and we always felt fully informed. Communication has been spot‑on, and we’ve been kept updated at every stage so far. Buying a new build can feel overwhelming, but Cussins, and Lauren in particular, have made it genuinely enjoyable. It’s left us feeling confident, reassured and excited about the home we’re creating. We recently purchased a Cussins home at Summerson Place. Carol and Caroline in the sales office were friendly and transparent throughout, and supportive regarding the sale of our previous home. Our home demonstration the week before we moved was a positive experience, as we were able to see the house inside for the first time, and the site managers Keith and Alan were both helpful in explaining the finer details of our new home. Our move day was a special and memorable day thanks to the Summerson Place team. The overall build quality and finish of the property is excellent, and both Keith and Alan have been helpful in identifying and rectifying the few snags we have experienced. This was our first purchase of a new build home, and everyone involved at Cussins has made this a positive experience and ensured we are settling in well.

Moving into our new home has been such a special experience for our family. My mum bought the house, and now me and my brother live here, and we truly couldn’t have done it without Carol. She made the entire journey feel not only smooth, but genuinely delightful and memorable. Carol goes above and beyond in every possible way. She thinks about every detail, no matter how small, and you can really see how passionate she is about what she does. That level of care and dedication made a huge difference to us, and it turned what could have been a stressful process into something really exciting and enjoyable. From stepping into the sales office to been handed the keys to my property at Summerson place I could not fault the whole procedure from meeting carol in the sales office to having any slight issues resolved it was a breeze, the site manager resolved the few very minor issues we had with impeccable promptness and efficiency honestly couldn't fault the Cussins team, well done guys all round, it's so nice to find a team that are actually interested in making you happy with a purchase, I would definitely recommend them.

My partner and I have recently reserved a home at Eccleston Park and I wanted to share my experience so far. From the outset, the process has been smooth, well-organised, and reassuring. Previously buying a Persimmon home, the experience we’ve had so far with Cussins has been far superior! A special mention has to go to Lauren, who has been absolutely fantastic throughout. She has been incredibly helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable - taking the time to guide me and my partner through every step of the reservation process and ensuring everything was clearly explained. Her support has made what has previously been a stressful experience feel straightforward and exciting. I did visit another site’s show homes, and while it provided a useful comparison, the level of warmth and engagement I’ve experienced at Eccleston Park has really stood out in a positive way. Overall, I’m very pleased with my experience so far and would happily recommend Lauren and the team based on the professionalism, communication, and customer care we’ve received!
