GoogleMade ridiculous deductions after I left the property I was renting and charged me for a second professional clean even though this had already been done! Assuming this is where they make their commission!

Dear Mr Phillips, I am sorry to hear you were not happy with the deductions proposed at the end of your tenancy. Unfortunately the deductions were proposed based on the findings of the inventory clerk at the check-out. Yourself and your flatmate were both present and have signed to confirm that you acknowledged there were areas which had been missed by the cleaners instructed by yourselves which we then had to have corrected, along with areas of high dilapidation to walls in the flat which had been newly decorated just before your tenancy started a year ago. If you felt the charges proposed were unreasonable you would have been entitled to take the matter to the arbitration service of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme but you accepted the charges and requested the deposit to be released so we are disappointed that these concerns have been highlighted now as opposed to at the time.

GoogleAll the positive reviews are fake or from people who are well in with them. They charge double on the inventory, and use a very questionable company who try to find issues that don't exist in order to take from the deposit. I've rented with many agents in London, all of them are despicable, but these guys take it to a new level. Ignore my honest words at your peril.

GoogleWatch your deposit. We left a place as spotless as the company we employed to clean the place could clean it(recommended by one of CHK Mountford's own staff) and it was probably cleaner than when we first arrived but were charged £558 to jet wash some moss on the rear patio(!) and to replace one light bulb in the bathroom.(how many Letting agents does it take to replace one light bulb?). Tried to negotiate with them but no joy! Would not recommend them!

Dear Mr Ahmad, many thanks for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not pleased with the charges incurred at the end of your tenancy which ceased back in 2013. Had we been aware at the time you were not happy we would have most certainly looked into this for you. As stated within our correspondence in July 2013, if you weren’t in agreement the matter would have been passed over to The Tenancy Dispute Service. I have looked into the file and can see that the £558 was made up of the following; inventory check out fee to clerk, outstanding fees owed to CHK Mountford, cost of weeding/tidying the garden and mowing the lawn, jet washing front and rear patio areas and cleaning of the carpets. There was no charge made for a light bulb replacement. I must stress that CHK Mountford only acts as an intermediator party, the charges proposed are made by the landlord based on the check in and check out reports made by an independent inventory clerk. GoogleEverything has been so smooth and hassle free with CHK. From the very beginning they arranged a viewing at the last minute for a property that only went on the market the day before. Once we decided that was the one, everything was set in motion quickly and efficiently. The team have been friendly and helpful and overcame several obstacles of moving from Europe back to the UK. GoogleI'll keep it short and sweet. I have been renting for 5 years and have moved house 4 times. Without a shadow of a doubt, CHK Mountford are a cut above the rest. Having dealt with the so called creme de la creme of agencies to local agencies in Surrey, they just do not compare to CHK Mountford. I can honestly say, without a shadow of doubt, every member of staff I have dealt with have been a credit to the company. And what a breath of fresh air to find a managing agency that deals with your problem within 24 hours when something needs fixing. GoogleWe have recently rented out our Kingston property through Mountford and had the opportunity to work with a variety of their staff from the initial contact to the marketing of our house to the final day the tenants moved in. We have had a fantastic experience with information being transparent throughout and emails and call being returned immediately. No hesitation in recommending them at all!

GoogleWhen I first made contact with CHK regarding my first ever move to find a 1 bedroom property I was contacted the same day by a agent who made me aware of a lovely property that was available on the market - quick and easy to arrange a viewing- agent was friendly & made me feel at total ease . extremely happy with the service received from all staff CHK mountford. They've always been happy to help when I've needed advice / help or had any questions that I needed answering. Always a speedy response to emails. GoogleWe have been tenants with CHK Mountford since 2000 and the service provided by them is excellent. Not only are they always extremely helpful but very quick to respond to any query or issue. I wish all businesses had the customer ethics that these guys have. Highly recommended.

GoogleCHK were a delight to work with from start to finish, very easy to communicate with, fast with their replies and incredibly helpful when I needed to break my tenancy early. They had re-let my property within 2 weeks and organised a no fee, early release for me. The staff are pleasant to deal with and I have dealt with the same members of the team over my 3 year tenancy which made everything very fluid and easy. I work in Property Management myself and knew we PMs can be the most annoying tenants but I never had cause for complaint - a well rounded, high functioning team. Would recommend to anyone! GoogleHaving had the pleasure of working with CHK Mountford for the past 20 years, I can thoroughly recommend them to landlords and tenants alike. They are friendly, professional and have a desire to achieve the right outcome for all parties. Their communication is prompt and efficient, and their knowledge and experience has proved invaluable over the years. They have never yet failed to locate a new tenant to replace the outgoing tenant and as a consequence the flat has remained fully let with no gaps in rent receipts. In spite of being approached by other letting agencies in the area, I have never considered using another agent during this period, and can see no reason to change in the future.

They are the most helpful, responsive, and approachable letting agency we have ever dealt with. In the few occasions we have had to call on them for assistance we have always received a near immediate response, and always receive a flexible support, and solution which suits both the letting and renting parties. I would thouroghly recommend renting through CHK Mountford!
