Best agents we’ve used or seen!

We set off on our journey to sell our house and purchase our new home last year. We've experienced our fair share of estate agents and I whilst Steven and the team at Chewton Rose represented our sellers (not us), we found their service, reliability and support outstanding. We've dealt with some big names and some local ones....none come close! Steven from day one offered nothing but time, advise and prompt communication throughout the buying process of his clients home and whilst the five month ordeal allowed us to develop a nice relationship with Steven, he was objective and done his best to balance the needs and priorities of his clients and us as buyers. A lot of estate agents could learn a few things from these guys. No nonsense, honest, reliable and pick up the phone! We're not planning to sell anytime soon, but when we do, Steven will be getting the call! Thanks for all your help and we love our new home! Greg & Emma

Never followed up on several viewing requests and lost potential sale.

Having recently sold our house we wanted to view a property on CR website in Bramcote Lane, Nottingham. Phoned CR on afternoon 22nd May and after several attempts got through to what they said was their 'Concierge Desk'. Took my details and said someone would call to arrange a viewing and explain viewing process probably not that evening but next day, Saturday. By Tuesday 26th after Bank Holiday still no-one had called back. Phoned again in the morning and afternoon and after several attempts and leaving messages eventually got through and like before told this was Concierge Desk they could only take messages. I explained I'd rung before and was told very sorry someone will make new note of contact details and get back to you either later or tomorrow latest. No-one has ever phoned me back - that's a week ago! No-one ever chased up the contact or discussed a viewing. Meantime we viewed a house in West Bridgford with another agent and made an offer this week.

We have just sold our last plot of 3 through the Nottingham Chewton Rose and the staff there have been brilliant. The Ascot branch of Chewton Rose was the Estate Agent which was selling the property we purchased. On the first viewing we met Philip who showed us around South Cottage and he clearly had a great deal of knowledge about the property because he answered all our questions; he also answered them openly and truthfully. The viewing was unhurried and Philip did not pressurise us in anyway or start suggesting that if we did not make an immediate offer we would probably lose out to a previous viewer, (we encountered this technique with some other agents). On the second viewing we met Shirley who allowed us to walk around and view the property on our own but she was on hand if we needed to ask any further questions. Both viewings were extremely relaxed and very informative. We considered that South Cottage had been fairly valued for marketing purposes. After our offer was accepted by the Vendors and the conveyance process began we mainly dealt with Philip who was extremely helpful and also kept us up to date and informed. Philip and Shirley are traditional in their approach, very professional and are certainly well experienced in Estate Agency which is very refreshing. I would recommend them to anyone who was thinking of selling a property in the local area.

Chewton Rose. Five star service reassured returning expats

Chewton Rose acted as estate agents for the vendor of a home we bought recently in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Steven Field, the Senior Associate in Chewton Rose's Milton Keynes office was their primary representative and Graham Nash the MD stepped in to offer a seamless service whenever Steven was not available. It was a complicated purchase with quite a few legal hurdles to overcome and a very difficult set of agents and solicitors down the chain. We were returning from many years broad, did not fully understand the process and had a container load of furniture arriving. Steven recommended solicitors and surveyors and could not have been more helpful in guiding us through the purchase and keeping us in touch with the Vendors' point of view and news from down the chain - which, in truth, was very hard to find. Without Steven and Graham's input my wife and I would have switched into panic mode on more than one occasion. I can't recommend Chewton Rose enough. We bought our current home through them and noticed they were different from first contact. (before first contact actually if you count our reaction to the property listing, which was outstanding) We were transparent from the start that we were just browsing - not seriously intending to move until 2019 - but that didn't stop Steven (Field) from taking the time to talk in detail about the different areas and giving us recommendations about how we should direct our search efforts. He knew the area like the back of his hand and, when we met him to view the house we eventually bought, he was able to answer every question we threw at him. There was a lot of communication following the viewings (we must have exchanged hundreds of emails) and Steve in particular provided a level of service I had never seen before. His responses were always quick, understanding, patient and helpful. When it came to organising the chain, Graham and Steve both put in a great deal of effort to make it work and we will always be grateful. We don't plan to move anytime soon but wouldn't even consider instructing a different agent to sell our home if/when the time comes.
