GoogleWe asked for a valuation of our house from Brian Holts estate agents, last time we moved was back in 1975 so we were a little bit nervous about how they would approach our request. We needn't have worried as we were visited by a bright and friendly lady called Ashley Gillies. She looked around the house pointing out the positives and some of the minor negatives also gave us an honest valuation based on other properties in the area as well as our own. She explained clearly the extra costs involved including removals, stamp duty, solicitor fees and their own costs. I also feel that the valuation was a fair reflection of our home and not an inflated one which can cause problems. We were also offered any help in what to look for in new home. All in all a very positive experience and if and when decide to move we would use Brian Holts team and Ashley in particular if possible.

GoogleAbsolutely shocking level of customer service and general interest in the customer and their requirements. Rude and borderline patronising staff and when I agreed to have a valuation gone on my house I felt something was missing regarding what was suggested about how my property would be promoted on social media as after looking at social media the activity it is ZERO even though I was told about some unique thing they use that creates special social media adverts...blah blah blah...I’m boring myself, so basically a lie!!!! When it comes to the fee for selling my house it was 1.5%, which is absolutely ridiculous, especially when you consider I was offered 0.75% by another agent for exactly the same service. As for viewing a property I was interested in, well at least the appointment took place on time, but when discussing a possible offer the conversation led to financial services and any offer having to be financial qualified by an in-house financial advisor and I’m not an idiot and I know that is a sharp practice and a mortgage agreed in principle and the finances being confirmed by a solicitor is all that is needed to confirm you can proceed, so don’t fall for that nonsense and ultimately DO NOT use this company as it appears that they are only interested in seeing how much money could be made out of me. Steer well clear and shop around for a good fee and people you feel comfortable dealing with and avoid the stereotypes!!!
