Spending time with me on my financials, and looking at the options coming up.Sales office agent 2: crafted a unique purchase deal for me, which met my needs better than the standard offers they had running.Sales office agent 3: was incredibly patient with me going through the options picks, and tweaked the deal further to make things go through smoothly.Sales office agent 4: did my move-in inspection, key exchange, and followed up on all the ancillary paperwork, always being thorough about chasing things up.Whilst I did get bounced between a few different sales people over the journey, and it felt like there was little handover between them, they were all great in their own rights, and it always felt like they were going above and beyond to help wherever they could make a difference.Move in condition:House was very clean, with a lot of attention to details. There was a mistake with which flooring had been laid, which honestly seeing it in place I preferred to the the one I picked, so did not request this to be corrected.I did get the lawn turfed, which by move in date, had become quite unwieldy (approx 12-14 inches tall)Also of note, the BT Openreach and Virgin Media lines were coiled up outside the house, and not plumbed into the ducting on move in date.SnaggingThe construction site manager was incredibly helpful, getting immediate fixes to some aspects,The two customer liaisons took the snagging report from the surveyor I used, and were fantastic about getting everything rectified in a very rapid time frameSnagging report turned up very little, a couple of blocked weep vents, a few bricks in the garage that needed repointing, a missing steam strip above the dishwasher. The rest was fairly trivial items, such as paint defects, and a few missing screw covers.Anything I've flagged up after the initial snagging, the customer liaisons have been fantastic about just sorting things out without any quibble.

Was very interested in a property on this lovely estate but was put off by housing association property’s on the estate that are scruffy and with over grown grass and weeds and barking dogs! Did mention this to the sales office and they told me the HA tenant were on holiday must be a long holiday grass a meter high! Lovely estate being let down by HA tenants that don’t give a toss

Our experience with the sales team has been great. Fiona and Lisa have been our main contact. They maintained an open line of communication and always called back if they missed our call. They kept us informed of any changes and patiently answered all our questions as first-time home buyers.There was a slight change in the landscape plan after we signed, but it wasn't significant and we were okay with it. After receiving the keys, we encountered a few issues, including a leaking pipe due to improper installation. However, the team responded promptly and fixed everything the next working day.The construction site management (specifically Bob) has been fantastic in addressing any major issues we noticed, and they were incredibly helpful with garbage disposal. Setting up bins with the council for our new build was challenging, but the team assisted us until the bins arrived a month later.Unfortunately, the turf around the house was laid during a heatwave, and despite our efforts, it turned yellow. On the mending now after constant watering. We understand this was due to the timing of the turf order. Overall, the teams have been supportive and helpful throughout the process.

Purchased an avant house in April 2021 and it’s been horrific from the very start. When we first moved in we were promised that after a year someone would come out to look at our snag list! A gentleman started correcting all the cracks in the house after 6 months but when he came back to paint over what he plastered it was cracked again so he said he’d come back in another six months and do it all then. He did not show up so I contacted avant and stated that he was due to return and complete my snag list. Avant refused to send him back out stating we had to fix the snags ourselves (BROKEN PROMISE NUMBER 1). I then had a plumbing issue which was the drains not my toilet and they told me if I got a plumber out who would state it’s the drains then they would reimburse me the money and send someone out to look at the drains (there’s always been a drain problem on this estate) I paid for a plumber and invoiced me and stated it was the drains not my plumbing. I did as they stated, I then contact avant asking for someone to come and have a look at the drains and they then told me I then needed to contact a drain specialist myself, which was completely different to what I was told the first time and then I was down money for paying the plumber and my issue wasn’t resolved (BROKEN PROMISE NUMBER 2). I then contacted avant in regards to my washing machine which they plumed in and I have leaks in my hall way and down stairs toilet ceilings. The avant technician drew around my leak marks and said he will come back in a months time and if they’ve gotten bigger I have a leak and they will sort it. Despite being told by the avant technician he would come back avant have refused to send him out (BROKEN PROMISE NUMBER 3). Avant is big on making you purchase a house and saying how you’re always looked after but when you’re moved in they are just empty promises. It’s disgusting. I will never purchase an Avant homes again.

The sales experience wasn't great , spec changed after we had signed up but couldn't get compensation. After this the house itself is nice BUT trying to get snags fixed is a nightmare. the sub contractors do as they please and customer care are powerless to get them to do things, very poor management support for the people on the phoe who take the brunt of buyers frustrations and annoyance. Contractors work not really up to standard and unreliable at turning up. TBH we fixed quite a lot ourselves. Also Avant were very unhelpful, not to say obstructive when we wanted to put solar panels on our house. Having said that we like the house and estate so go ahead if you can put up with the frustrations of the subcontractors not fixing the snags.

Our opinion on New Builds has certainly changed! Recently we have purchased and moved in to our forever family home on the Monkswood site and from the start the team have been nothing but helpful and accommodating. As with everything in life there had been a few minor hurdles (mainly with the part exchange) but nothing that had been a deal breaker. Since moving in, Ian, Dave, Lisa and Zara have been incredible. Everything had been explained to us reagarding our new home and details left in case we needed anything. We have had a few very minor snags (mainly cosmetic) which have been recorded and dealt with efficiently whilst keeping us up to date on progress. We honestly couldn't recommend the site team or the quality of the build enough. We absolutely love our new home and can't wait to make many happy memories as a family. A big thank you to the site team for making our move as seamless and effortless as possibly, we truly are very grateful for all of the help and support.

What a nightmare Avant North East and their tradesmen are. We have used a full years holiday entitlement in 3 months waiting in for appointments to fix snagging issues. Their tradesmen turn up and look at the job and disappear never to be seen again. Then a different person comes to look at it again. If they do actually carry out any repairs they always manage to make them worse and then have to come back yet again. We asked for compensation for all of the time off that we have had to take as we now don't have enough holidays to cover child care in the school holidays but they have refused to offer us anything at all. Absolutely socking. Where they get their tradesmen from is beyond me. The must be the cheapest of the cheap.
