I was a little unsure about buying a new build property, as there is often bad press surrounding developments, however I was impressed by the standard of fittings and workmanship at Mill Green, Warton, and completed my purchase, on schedule, in June. There were inevitably one or two snags, but these were dealt with courteously and efficiently by the site managers, Mike and Chris. The whole work team there have been nothing but helpful during the entire process. Thank you for making a potentially stressful time seamless.

Anwyl thoughtless Holmes

Anwyl .. ‘thoughtful Holmes’ .. or not! Since completing over two weeks ago we have identified somewhere in the region of two thousand issues/snags that demonstrate extremely poor trade skills and failing quality control processes. Anwyl promised us a home that would be finished to highest of standards and top rated aftercare. We have been left with a home that is questionable how it passed even the basic of health and safety checks and a complete lack of ownership around resolving these issues and barely any acknowledgement. In the 13 days that we have been raising these issues we have been met with many excuses which are simply not acceptable! Due to the volume of snags, we are unable to document every single one however we have taken a video for context available on YouTube just type in ‘Anwyl thoughtful homes…or not’Listing a few: ⭕️Boiler has pipes not connected ⭕️Electrical plug points millimetres away from water mains pipe connection with the pipe placed over the plug so it cannot be used⭕️Fire strips falling out of all the door frames⭕️Lights tripping and cutting out which I assume is from a loose connection another fire hazard⭕️All the plaster on the walls is terrible - bumpy, chipped, scratched and tatty. The majority of walls need to be replastered⭕️Same for the woodwork which is unfinished, with drips of varnish all down the stairs.⭕️Every single cupboard in the kitchen has chips and knocks in, one isn’t even attached to the wall ⭕️Broken tiles in the bathrooms ⭕️Every door/window hinge is rusty and covered in brick acid and paint⭕️Light placed in correctly in ground floor hall way as the front door smashes into it when you open it⭕️Tiles on the roof of the porch not fixed down properly We have had professional snaggers, site managers and other tradesmen come to look at the house and they are as shocked as we are, none of them have any idea how the property passed quality control, this is incredibly damaging for the Anwyl brand.. in short DO NOT BUY AN Anwyl Homes property!

We picked up the keys in May '22 after a few lapsed completion promises due to solicitor failures and money transfers, never at any time did we feel that Anwyl would pull out of the sale. The sales team remained patient and attentive throughout, providing confidence at every step. Having handed us over to Gaz and team, once the purchase was complete, the care and willingness to provide good customer care didn't stop there. We have just got our keys for our new home at the Fairways. I cannot recommend this team enough! From the beginning the help and communication from Helen Sarah and Alex was first class. Having bought off plan there was obviously a long wait for our house but our every question was answered at every step of the way. Will joined the team later and is a huge asset. He proved to be an efficient and calming influence when completion loomed with an answer or action for all my queries. Gaz the site manager is so efficient and approachable. He talked us through every aspect of our new home and quickly rectified a couple of small issues we identified. Thank you to you all!

Although we did not end up purchasing a home through Anwyl at their Fairways site in Handforth in the end, we were really impressed by Will Waterworth's knowledge and help throughout. He was kind enough to keep us posted with our dream plot as soon as it became available and gave us a little more time to sell our other property to secure it, which was appreciated. Not once did we feel pressured or given the "hard sell" and he was brilliant to work with.

We purchased a property on the Croes Atti Development.From our first conversation with Angela in the sales office through to completion and even a month on the service we have received has been excellent. Always putting us first and keeping us regularly update with progress of the build, through to completion. Angela and Lauren are a credit to the Anwyl team.Then onto the house, I've been previously told Anwyl build good house, well now I know they build excellent houses, with a very good spec. We have had very few snags but Steve and his team, have worked to get them completed.A big shout out ot Steve, who has regularly field my random questions and always given an experienced answer, also a credit ot the Anwyl team.Not that I'm planning on buying another new house, I would denifately buy from Anwyl again. This is how houses should be built but rarely are.

I have recently bought off plan a Anwyl home at Mill Green Warton. I have to say what a trouble free experiance i have had, the sales team are excellent promising nothing they couldn't deliver, even bringing our completion date a week earlier. Once we moved in I hired a professional snagging company who prvided me with a list of snaggs, which turned out to be very little given its a new build. The site management team Chris & Mike went above and behond and dealt with everything faster than expected they are a credit and a valuble asset to Anwyl homes. Keep up the good work because it realy makes the stress of moving into a new build enjoyable, and i am sure customers apriciate your hard work even though sometimes not saying it. The Fairways - 6 weeks in…

We have purchased a property on The Fairways estate. Firstly a couple of negatives - PLS were pretty useless so I’d recommend not using them, I guess there is a reason they are cheaper than others. Snagging wise there wasn’t a huge amount to be fair but the tiling was done in the en suite like someone had about 10 mins to grout it all and I’m still waiting on that being cleaned. Everyone in the sales office have been great and really helpful, Will, Helen, Sarah and Alex. All super nice and happy to help where they can. Positives: house is well built, you can see there is a better spec than other sites (hob, spot lights, shed etc), and all the snagging has been completed in a relatively quick time. Big shout out to Isaac on site who is just brilliant - he sorts everything for me very fast and he always has a smile on his face despite me mithering him on a frequent basis! Thanks Isaac for helping us settle in and for always being around when we need you - you have been an enormous help and reassuring presence on site!

Excellent customer service from our first interest to receiving the keys. Standard of house quality is first class with pride taken in the smallest of details by the site manager and all his team. Sales staff likewise are there to answer queries at any time and there is a real passion and commitment to everything they do. I would recommend Anwyl to anyone buying a house. This is how new houses should be built but rarely are.

Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming

Bought a home with Anwyl at the Winnington (Northwich) site back in September 2021. Both me and my partner could not be happier with the standard and spec of the home we purchased. We bought a home 4 bed detached Stratford and Marie from the sales office was fantastic with us. When we moved in, as expected with a new home any teething issues were quickly ironed out by either Keith and Phil who run the site and have always been keen to help even now! I've purchased new homes in the past and as soon as your in, the developers distance themselves from you but that certainly hasn't been the case on this occasion.

He has helped us from the move in day to the final snagging phase. No job is too much, he’s always willing to find solutions to help resolve problems. Great Service at The Fairways Development

We recently bought a beautiful house on The Fairways development, and have been living here now for 4.5 months.Throughout the sales process; Helen, Sarah and Alex were very helpful in providing us with answers to our many questions. They were extremely supportive, understanding and calming at a time when we were dealing with stressful situations outside of our control, for which we are truly grateful.When we moved into the house, we did notice some differences between our house and the perfect show home, "snags". The overwhelming majority were small cosmetic issues, with just a handful of larger issues. As much as we would have liked everything to be perfect on day 1, we appreciate that the builders are human too.What mattered to us at this stage was for Anwyl to accept and correct the snags as quickly as possible. It's with this in mind that we can honestly say that both Gaz, Site Manager, and Will in Sales, have done a fantastic job in ensuring that these small snags didn't taint the positive experience of buying a new home.Gaz has been fantastic. He's been in constant communication with us regarding arranging different trades to come and carry out work. He ensured that the larger snags were resolved as a matter of urgency and shortly after sought about getting all of the other issues resolved. We've enjoyed a nice rapport with Gaz, he's always friendly and happy to help.Will joined the Fairways after we moved in and we're so glad he did. After a very difficult sale I was anxious that buying at Mill Green, Warton might have been a major mistake but I needn’t have worried. The site team at Mill Green, namely Chris and Mike, have been exceptional. Every small issue is dealt with promptly and always with a smile! The site is very clean and the frontage is tended every week so standards are high. Although there is still major works ahead, there has been no difficulty accessing my property or noise nuisance at all. Every effort is made to ensure the new owners are not impacted by the ongoing construction. The Site Team could not have been more helpful so you can have confidence when you buy here that help is at hand.

My experience with Anwyl homes is definitely 5star I couldn't of asked for anything better. I'm nearly 2years in my new home I still recommend friends to buy on Alexandra gardens I'm really settled here. The site manager Carl Noble is more like a friend now although still very professional iv found all the staff super friendly and they always help out with any job I need.I'd be more than happy to re live this experience but maybe choose a house with a garage ☺️I've recently visited a few Anwyl sites I can honestly say this is my absolute favourite in how it's set out and all the greenery that Anwyl have kept.Alexandra gardens is very communal we often all get together on the green for a few drinks while the kids play. My house is situated near the main site entrance gates which I love as I'm very nosey watching them all work very hard I'm now very interested in this industry and find myself reading anything about Anwyl.I will really miss everybody when they finish here. Who know's I may buy again Alana🙂

Here is exactly why Anwyl get 1 star. Please see a quote of the head of customer services."As requested, to confirm what was stated at our meeting, at Anwyl Homes we do not pay compensation to our homeowners, choosing instead to focus on putting right any issues identified. We also do not pay goodwill gestures if we are able to complete the remedial work required. We are obligated to treat all customers fairly and by that ensure that we follow our own procedures consistently" This means they do the bare minimum required.Poor poor customer service, something I have highlited to regional execs. It is sad when you have to go to the Consumer Code for an apology.

Don't take £500 PLS offer. House itself-threatened to sue.

If customer care are ignoring you look at CRA 2015-in my case for missing extras sections (9-2), (11-1) (11-3), (24). Small claims court can be submitted online. They will make a same day payment to you like they did me.Literally, when I was about to get the keys at 4pm, get a frantic call from PLS saying their previous 3 completion statements were not actually complete-they need £700 more. Refuse and you cannot get the keys-even though I expected to move in today. Question the fees? It is 4pm-banks close at 5pm so you won't move in. And PLS were recommended to deal with it all for the Alexandra Gardens, Crewe development? Steer clear-their £500 discount cost me £700 ON THE DAY! (I have requested a copy of their frantic calls and emails on the day of completion suddenly requesting the funds to further my complaint). As for the house itself no huge issues-a few missing items from the extras list, but the customer care team are frankly hopeless. A shame as the house itself is actually fine its just their attitude-before sale you are a priority, after sale an inconvenience. If you want to go Anwyl to avoid some developers with bad press-Anwyl are no better, service is hit or miss (and don't care if they miss).EDIT: Anwyl tried to remove this review by saying it was not "verified" and Trustpilot asked me for evidence of an invoice or contract-well sir (I cannot name you due to trustpilot rules), you know it is me, you called me the day after I left the review. Very disappointed you would try and remove it not by speaking to me but by claiming I did not buy this property when you handed the keys to me personally. This review is now verified as you can see.Edit 2: See how clever Anwyl try to be in their reply. The information they gave to PLS as "my" solicitors was correct. And the information Anwyl gave to me was correct. HOWEVER, they do NOT state the information given by PLS to me was correct-hence the frantic phone calls. So the solicitors they recommend made a mess of it. Expect such weasel tactics from their customer care team who didnt care their recommended solicitors gave me incorrect information!

The Oaks - amazing team!

Buying a home on The Oaks and have had excellent customer service from Carol since the start.Carol has helped arrange times for me to see the show home, kept in regular contact as to release dates and has been extremely helpful in keeping things on track.I have exchanged contracts on my new Lymm and Carol is keeping me up to date.Nothing has been too much trouble.I also viewed some other homes at a nearby site and the difference between the support offered by Carol and those at a rival site was part of the reason for choosing this property.Also a mention to Nigel, who I have also dealt with on occasion and has been nothing but helpful.Overall I couldn’t be happier with Carol and the team at the Oaks. Now just to make all the final choices and the long wait until it’s ready - but I am sure I will be kept well up to date!
