GoogleAppalling service at the Accrington branch. No bulbs in the house when I moved in yet charged out of my deposit for them when I left the house. No deposit returned due to carpet cleaning service costing £340 apparently. Offered to go back in and pay for the service myself but denied access. Spoken to like rubbish on the phone. Didn’t chase the second tenant for rent arrears, instead left the paying tenant (me) to pick up the pieces and lose my deposit. Thank god I’ve now bought my own house and never have to worry about renting again.
Hi C D. Unfortunately your review of your dealings with our Accrington office are factually incorrect. As you have chosen to list these publicly we will therefore reply publicly. You advise that there were no bulbs in the house when you moved in, but the schedule of condition provided to you at the start of your tenancy listed all present and working. You did not update this information nor report a problem to the office. All our fully managed properties have a schedule of condition completed before any tenancy commences and all tenants have the ability to review this document and ask for amendments where appropriate. In the instance of this property it was listed that the property had undergone an extensive refurbishment including a professional clean before the tenancy commenced. Upon termination of the tenancy the property was returned to us with a number of carpets stained, walls in need of redecoration including sanding and painting, and as you mention all bulbs had been removed from the property. You also mention that rent remained outstanding at this point too. Therefore, the landlord correctly instructed us not to return the deposit to cover the excessive wear and tear and rent arrears. While we understand your current circumstances are not as you would hope but we take very seriously our commitment to the properties we manage and the clients we represent. Kind regards Property Shop

GoogleVery poor service from lettings manager. The sales/lettings team are nice and helpful, but this cannot be said for the lettings manager! she has awful people skills, doesn't converse or listen to you. Tried to take our entire deposit when we left the property but we complained to the DPS and got the majority of it back! The lettings manager made no effort to open up a constructive dialogue we actually had to terminate a few calls with her due to her attitude and the way she was speaking to us. Popped in to the branch to find out the complaints procedure after having to terminate a call I was having with her due to poor attitude and was told by the lettings manager that making a complaint would be pointless as she owns the company apparently! Not on at all. All your one star reviews seem to be complaints from lettings, maybe you should do something about it.

We have been unable to locate you in connection with a tenancy agreement, therefore, we are unable to discuss matters relating to tenancy with someone unconnected to a property we manage. We know that this can be frustrating at times, however, we aim to protect all parties at all times and conduct ourselves legally and in harmony with the code of conduct for letting agents. All our clients value our conscientious approach. However, your review indicates that you were living at the property in question. If this was the case then this would have been a breach of the tenancy agreement and the additional person living in the property would also explain the above average wear and tear in the property, a fact that was not shared with the DPS when our claim was made. If this had been disclosed no doubt the DPS would have viewed this claim differently. Therefore, please be advised that we have notified your landlord of the facts you have disclosed publicly, as well as the local authority. It will now be up to them to pursue associated costs incurred. However, as someone who works for one of our competitors we are sure all the above is knowledge you already have and hopefully put to better use for them. Kind regards Property Shop

GoogleWe recently sold a house with Property Shop of Accrington and they were first class. My wife and i dealt with a number of staff, predominantly Kirsty, all were proffesional, courteous, polite and importantly delivered their services with a sense of humour when appropriate. This was my first experience in selling a property which led to a 'series' of calls from me with no doubt some silly questions...i was put at ease and all my concerns were managed very efficiently. As a seller a truly appreciated their support, advice and proffesional friendship as well. Would highly reccomend

GoogleReally helpful, professional and polite. Sold both houses within 2 weeks and were great throughout, a shame that I couldn't say the same for the conveyancers! My advice if selling through the Property Shop is by all means do so they are great but be careful which conveyancers you chose from the 2 they recommend, we may just have been unlucky to be fair but without all the kind help of the sellers of our new property we would be 1 month behind where we are now.

Mandie explained everything, answered all my questions no matter how daft!, communicated brilliantly, was so polite and professional, so easy to chat with, and made the whole process easy; It was deeply appreciated. Rick had to call to the house to check something for me. Absolute gentleman who was pleased to see how well I was settling in. We switched to Property Shop on the recommendation from our neighbour and within no time they had found a buyer. The house wasn’t on the market long and the whole process was really smooth. The staff were lovely, everyone was so professional but still friendly, and Kirsty, who handled our sale, helped us so much with any queries and was knowledgeable. Would really recommend.

GoogleI am a Councillor and was recently asked for help by a young and vulnerable single Mum, who was having problems heating the house she rents through Property Shop. An inspection was promptly arranged, and carried out with sensitivity and kindness. It was identified that the boiler needed replacing and this has been done. Further minor insulation issues were identified and these were also promptly fixed. The tenant is 'over the moon' with the results. What a brilliant service!

GoogleProperty Shop have been fantastic from start to finish. We had a lot of hurdles on our purchase side and they even assisted with that which was with a different Estate agent. I would highly recommend them, nothing was too much trouble and they really care about making things as easy and hassle free as possible.
