For the majority of our tenancy, we had no issues with Northwood. The people we interacted with directly were friendly and problems were dealt with relatively quickly. The issues started at the end of our tenancy and were mostly caused by poor communication, as it seemed they just lost interest when they found out we wouldn't be staying with them. Before moving out, we made sure to clean the flat to a high standard as requested by Northwood. We returned our keys before the end of our tenancy and expected the final inspection to be carried out on the day we moved as our paperwork stated should be the case. It wasn't until after we left that we were informed that although this is what the paperwork said, it was a blanket statement and that they would not do the inspection until the final day of our tenancy which was 12 days later. During this time, there were 3 more viewings where people walked around the flat, making the floors we had cleaned dirty again. As a result, we had to pay increased cleaning fees as they refused to move the inspection due to a technicality. To their credit, the inspection was conducted on the day our tenancy should have ended. However, despite our paperwork also stating "If the tenant was unable to be present at the checkout inspection, inform them of the outcome of the inspection and any issues identified", we had to contact them 10 days later having not received any communication regarding this inspection. As a result, we ended up paying late fees on our utility bill as it took so long for them to get things sorted. The long and short of it is - Northwood functions well as a business but they only do the bare minimum and only when it benefits them. Expect to have to chase them up frequently if you want to get anything done and don't expect fast replies, if at all.

The service during my stay as a tenant was reasonable other than the fact that their regular inspections feel like you are being examined. However, I have received very poor service on vacating the property - they are very slow to respond with regards to security refund and claimed unreasonable amount from security deposit. Hence the low rating.

After receiving several quotes and valuations of my property in Aberdeen, Northwood were the clear winners in terms of transparency of costs and value for money, whilst being realistic with an estimated sales price. A main competitor wouldn't even market my property unless I went to auction or accepted a price 10-15% below the home report! Ali was my property sales coordinator and I cannot praise her highly enough. In a saturated market in Aberdeen, Ali went above and beyond to market my property very professionally and quickly, and we achieved a sales price just above the asking price within 6 days. Her communication throughout the process couldn't have been better and I hope I Ali and Northwood can sell my next property for me!

I would like to give a big thanks to the team in Aberdeen. They rescued my property that was languishing under the mismanagement of another very large agency in Aberdeen and gave real, practical and commercial advice to turn it around and have the property finally sold for ??15k more than was previously suggested by the other agency. The team were also really very helpful on a personal level as I was undergoing cancer therapy during the period of a very difficult sale and they went out of their way to provide support. Thank you guys, I just wish all other agencies were like you guys!!!

Scott Morrison has been of great help to me as we seek to re-let our flat since the previous tenants vacated. Firstly Scott advised on the improvements we needed to make prior to remarketing the property to help attract new tenants. I sold my flat recently with Northwood. Overall I thought the service was very good. My main contact was with Ali MacGrory, and I found her to be very quick to respond, eager to help and very nice to deal with. Unfortunately due to market conditions in Aberdeen, the flat took longer than I???d hoped to sell, and sale price was very disappointing, but I don???t think this was down to any issues at the Northwood side. The main drawback is the inability to advertise on ASPC, but a huge benefit for me as a remote landlord and seller was that Northwood were happy to arrange repairs and redecoration works prior to sale. I also rented the flat through Northwood for many years previously, and was always happy with the service provided. Would happily recommend to others.

I rented a property for 4 years with Northwood, Aberdeen, Scott Morrison was in charge of my contract and the branch manager at the same time. The customer care provided was impressive. At some point the boiler needed to be replaced in the middle of the winter and the action/ response time was very efficient. The same, every time there was an issue in the property , Scott would reply very quickly in order to get the issue fixed as soon as possible. I'm very pleased with the customer service in general.
